I love credit cards so much! v7.0 - 2025 (see first page for add'l details)

That's an interesting question. I found this on the portal after clicking my points balance in the top right corner (which also shows how many points you have at 1.25 and how many at 1).

"These points are eligible for 1.25x when redeemed for Chase Travel; however, they will be used first and automatically apply to any redemption you make—reducing the number of eligible points whether they’re redeemed for Chase Travel or something else."

So your Hyatt transfer will take the 1.25 points first.

If you happen to have another card that can transfer to partners, you could move it there instead.
I have Freedom, Sapphire, CIC and CIU. Hmmm, I could upgrade the Freedom to another CSP if I found a need to transfer a lot of points. Right now I really don't have to, but the upgrade wouldn't be too bad a deal in the right situation. Meanwhile I could leave my 1:1 URs on my CIC. Plus I'd get another $50 hotel credit. It's really all small potatoes right now so I'll tread water until a situation comes up where I could benefit.

I booked a hotel on the Chase portal- mostly points, but $53 on CSP in hopes of using the $50 hotel credit. I booked on 11/12. My statement closed 11/28. No credit. I read in another post that the credit posted in 2 days, which has me worried.

I last used the credit in Nov '24, and my anniversary year reset in May 2025.

I just had to cancel the hotel and am rebooking with different dates. I can't decide if I should try again with $50ish in cash or not bother. I'd rather go all points.

I just booked a January date for the same reason. I put $51 cash on the reservation. I did not check to see when my last $50 credited but I seem to remember it credited almost immediately after the charge posted. Mine is pending right now so will watch it for a few days and if I'm too early I'll just cancel and rebook.

EDIT: I get confused on anniversary date. I opened the card 1st week of November 2020. Annual fee posts Dec 1.

I can see that I got the credit for late November bookings the last two years so I should be good to go. If it doesn't credit, I can rebook and try again, but I personally should be okay.

Looking at it again, the credit posted on the same date the charge posted after it was no longer pending.

If I were you I'd check your statements beginning with April 2025 to see if there are any credits you may have forgotten, as it looks to me my credit is available in November before my annual fee posts Dec 1.

Thanks to those who posted about the Chase Chewy $10 deal. I have it on a few cards (biz, CSR, freedom).

Does anyone happen to know if this would work on a $50 gift card?
I'm not sure on the gift card, I've never tried it. If there is an option to do a physical gift card it might work. Those offers usually won't work on an e-gift card as those are usually processed by a third party.

can you only 'try' for the credit, but can't see it till a few days later? I keep forgetting to try it

This last time (April 2025) the credit for me took like 3 weeks. I too was getting worried, so I canceled the hotel, and the credit actually showed up the next day…

I am booking a cash economy fare to Japan on JAL. A quick check via the AA website does not show any award availability (sAAver or otherwise), unless I am missing something. Departure is April 26, 2026 and return is May 4, 2026. I want a non stop from LAX > KIX.

When booking, it asks me for a Frequent Flier Program and Number. American Airlines is one of the options.

Does anyone know if there is any advantage (ha) to add my AA number? I don't know why they would ask... am I going to earn AA miles for it or anything?

They are partners. We earned AA miles on our trip to Japan on JAL.

If anyone has an Amex (I had this on my Blue Cash Preferred), check to see if you have an "Insurance" offer - earn 10% back when you make an insurance payment, max $20 cash back. I have 2 annual bills (earthquake and PL policies) that I pay in December anyways, so this was a nice little gift!
I've had it on my card and my DD's authorized user card. I have insurance that needed payment by 12/1 and I was going to use DD's card to pay it. Turned out they don't take Amex. I did use it on my card on my last car insurance.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I didn't find time to test this out. Hopefully there will be more offers soon.

This tracked for my annual travel insurance, too, which was a nice bonus.

@Nala83

My CSP hotel credit (if booked through Chase using combo of UR's and cash) of $50 posted alongside my $51 charge today. Appears to be an instant credit for me for 3 years running.
