With talk of the World Cup, is anyone trying to get tickets to a game? I'm signed up for a FIFA account and I submitted the form for interest in tickets awhile back. My hubby is a HUGE soccer fan and it's his dream to see a WC game live. We are hoping to get tickets in Atlanta to one of the group stage weekend games, June 21 or 27. At this point, we don't care who we see, just that we can get tickets, but this whole lottery system has us nervous. Anyone else hoping to get tickets? We can stress together, lol.

I am definitely hoping to get tickets. I have entered lotteries for two previous tournaments and have not been successful so I hope this will be 3rd time lucky. Official lotteries won't start until the fall so any tickets you see for sale currently are either touts/ticket agencies selling tickets they don't actually have yet, or hospitality packages that you need a second mortgage for. Even if you get nothing in the lottery - once the teams/groups and fixtures are finalized there will be some less desirable games that resale tickets should be obtainable at hopefully reasonable prices. I am hoping to attend a few games but at the very least, plan to to travel to 2 or 3 host cities to soak up the atmosphere.

Just a note on what @reliev stated above - you should not need to pay a deposit to enter the regular ticket lottery. I think deposits are only need for hospitality.

I can tell you from WC in brazil they checked ID to prevent reselling and fifa has said that if its resold they will buy it and ban you not sure how they do this in practice, though. and i agree on the mortgage pricing lol

Thanks for clarifying about the deposit. I had looked all over FIFA.com and could not find any information on this, so I’m glad it’s not necessary.

I didn’t think about traveling to a host city to at least soak in the atmosphere. I’m sure they’ll have tons of fan events planned, so if we don’t get tickets we’ll probably plan to do that too.

Sad to hear you’ve entered 2 lotteries already and weren’t selected. I hope third times a charm for you! And selfishly I hope we’re fortunate at this first go round.

Finally got DH's Delta biz gold approved. Went pending, then got a decision made e-mail with a link to the status site. But it would not work for me no matter what I tried (different browser, devices, incognito, VPN). Finally letter came asking for address verification with a banker's letter (!) and I got him to call. Hi! I'm looking for advice on which credit card to get to maximize points or return on $. I'm planning on flying 5 people from the U.S. to Australia. I have Chase Visa Disney, Chase Visa Southwest Premier and Chase Visa United Explorer - which I have had for years. United flies to Australia but want $283K points one way for premium economy. So looks like Qantas airlines would be the cheapest. Since I have to pay cash, I'd like to get maximum value for it. Should I get an American Airline credit care, fly on a code share flight and rack up AA points? Not sure if I'll need Qantas points again. Any advice from the experts?

All of our flights and hotels are booked for Hawaii next June! Now to try and not tell the kids before Christmas, I am not great with surprises haha

Ok so in my busy life I messed up... im 6/24 currently so cant app for swa cc.... someone please remind of new seat rules? Is seat choice based on holding a cc, or the type of fare purchased? If a p2 got the cc, could I book thru their acct and use any provided perks with the cc?---------- ALSO..... if p2 got a cc and I got au on it would that count for any card benefits for flights?

Got an email offer for a Southwest Plus credit card. 100,000 pts by spending $4000 in 5 months. Haven't checked to see if this is a new card offer or the basic, standard offer. Sometimes I pay for family to fly if I can use points.

It's one of those 'easy' things to do.

Ok just had something new to me happen, went to transfer UR's from my biz account to my CSR and I had to call in to do it. Usually I just get a code sent to me and then finish moving the points but this time I had to call and then go through all my personal information (including reading all my Chase cards to them) to verify myself. What I anticipated being a minute task turned into ten minutes. I get securing data but sometimes I feel like they go overboard.

Crazy! I just (30 minutes ago) transferred URs from a CIC to a CSP, and from a Freedom to a CSP, and both times just got the code texted to complete it.

To select a free seat when booking the flight you would need a SW Priority or SW business performance card. If you are traveling with your P2 and they have a card on the same reservation you also get to select a seat. If traveling alone the perks don’t extend to you, have to be the primary cardholder not an AU.

I got that one also. No thanks. I now have Jet Blue and American cards, so once I use up the last of my SW credits and points I am abandoning them (and I have been a loyal SW flyer for many years)

Reading about new DL NLL offers and remembered I'd seen an email with 70k in the title. Open it and it's the offer but it says my current balance is 880 miles which I know is way off so I panic a little. Opened the app and all is good there.

Turns out I have a 2nd dl mileage account from 2017 with 880 miles. Activity doesn't show anything but I'm guessing something got messed up when I did their Seahawks miles promo. Not sure if it's worth the call to combine. Does mean I need to pay attention to the emails they send before clicking a link.
