I love credit cards so much! v7.0 - 2025 (see first page for add'l details)

question on checking in for SW flights - We have 4 people flying and we have 3 confirmation numbers.

One for my 2 adult kids
One for me and one for DH (my companion)

If either of my kids checks in at the 24 hour mark, will it check both of them in? Or do they both need to do it?

Thanks! I typically book all flights individually, so not sure how this works!

Yes, checking in a confirmation number checks in everyone on that reservation and assigns boarding numbers at that time. Only one of your adult children needs to be on it at 24 hours.

Does anyone have any hotel recommendations for Tampa? We’re thinking about going for Thanksgiving break, splitting the time between Tampa and a resort at St. Pete.

US Bank altitude- I see 2 cards..... the connect \has a free GE on it, the other has 4x groceries (most of my spend) can someone tell me which is a better cc overall? Are the points hard to redeem? And could I hold both eventually? I'm hunting for a cc for upcoming tax of $3k+...thought I was gonna use my CSP on it but already hit the 5k msr (!)

And where can I find specific info for Bilt? I'm thinking of advising someone I know on paying rent with this, sounds like a great option?

Back to the "I need a SUB" conversation. 2 options, P3 gets the Marriott 5 FNC offer. Or do I want to get a Hawaiian Biz card? I'm at 4/24 until August. I read you can double dip and do both the HA biz and personal the same day, but I'm assuming that still takes a slot, right?

I don't fly AA as often anymore, and I have like 250k AA miles. I'm not sure what I would use the HA miles for, but I know they would transfer to Alaskan and that people like those, LOL. I guess just trying to figure out, HA miles or 5 FNC.

Thoughts? I should add my BF is getting 5 FNC but those will be for us to use. The idea behind my DD getting the 5FNC is to use on a vacation w/ them.

Yes, just saw a points blogger I follow on insta post about it. Given I'll be using Uber later today to go to DLR I should probably read it 🙂

Eta I had a 2 month free trial so it won't start charging until August.

I wonder if you get this plus the $10 rideshare credit.
Currently I'm just adding $25 a month to lyft cash for Minnie Vans as I don't uber or lyft anywhere else but Disney.

Finally got a new INK Card. Chase had denied both mine and DH lately for new Biz Cards. Cancelled CIU on Tuesday at the one year mark. Applied today for CIC and got instant approval. Only had 1 other Biz Card open at the time.

Yeah- needed a new SUB. Going to open a US Bank Checking Account for $500 offer. I know you can fund $3000 with a credit card. So, that will be half way to meeting SUB.

I forgot about that because I have Uber credits and mostly use it for Uber eats. I don't think I'll have any rideshare the rest of the year with what's scheduled so I wrote it off. I use Lyft sometimes but not enough I wanted to worry about yet another coupon. I don't even remember which dl cards have it.

Taking one of them back to the airport Sunday so we'll see. I'll use my dl card on Uber for the rides since I just need to use an Amex for the credits to work.

Don't forget to link delta with uber to get miles now that Delta did away with the Lyft partnership.

I need a new SUB too, not even sure where to start...as usual.

@Judique
I don’t think this shows that hotels unless you login other than those few that are on that page. At least it’s not showing for me using a phone.
If you tell us an area you’re looking for we can tell you what is included in the edit for that area.

JW Anaheim is the only one for Disneyland.
Disney World has:
JW Bonnet Creek
JW - Grande Lakes
Ritz Residences - Grande Lakes
Ritz - Grande Lakes

Thanks! I eventually checked everything out and I'm not interested in them right now. Sticking with the CSP for the moment and will continue to watch the CSR to see if it benefits me in future.

Womp, whomp. Semi fail on using my Hilton quarterly credits that my buddies here can appreciate.

We booked a local Hilton for one night to escape the heat dome our A/Cs absolutely cannot handle. (Worked perfectly, they had the room set to artic and it was a comfortable cool sleep!)
I have a number of credits to use between our Biz Plats, and Hilton cards in 2P mode. So I asked to split the charge 50 on Biz Plat, 50 on a Surpass and the remainder on my Biz. Had to wait for the gentleman who knew how to properly split, but he was very pleasant and agreeable!
Card one goes in - Declined! And again on take 2.
Well maybe fraud alert or something, haven't used this one in person in a while, put in Card two and Success!
Ok check app, not frozen, no texts, no alerts, no emails. Let's try take 3 - declined again!
I was on a clock so didn't have time to further look into it, so at least 2 credits will get used up.

I thought AmEx had a super simple way to avoid charges that are only using up the Biz Plat credit - just decline anything $50 even!

On further reflection, I grabbed the old, cancelled Biz Plat. :faint: Insult to injury, the new active card was in my purse and in my digital wallet! If I'd have noticed the very subtle sequential digit change, I could have whipped out the correct card and happy ending. I was even in my digital wallet looking for the card in case there was something wrong with the chip, and when the digits didn't match up no alarm bells went off. If only I'd have given the card a try from my phone anyway :headache:

Oh well, lesson learned, guess I can live a little on the next attempt since I have another $50 to use up!

Looking at what should be my last Hilton Surpass credit next month. After that I need to time for getting an Aspire - need the FNC to arrive on my time.

I hear you on the AC issue. I put in a new system in 2020 (got my CSP that day for part of the cost - can't beat that immediate number availability!) which has done quite well until 'this' heat dome event with 95 to 100 degree temps. But my small home has an upstairs and it was too hot up there during the day and DD works from home a couple of days a week.

Yesterday picked up a portable AC from Costco and it's colder up there than down here! I've had some in the past and they weren't as great. Actually it's an interim measure until renovation time when I intend to have a mini split installed to take care of the 2nd floor., but it's got a 2 year warranty so hopefully will keep cooling for a bit.

Hey crew, can I get some suggestions for new cards? I have $30k in spending in the next couple of months and might as well get some bonuses. I'm almost solely in the UR world right now. CSR is my daily and my renewal is Oct 1 so I'll keep it another year to see how that works out. I had a CSP years ago, I think... But I can't get a bonus on a CSP now anyway right? I also have 2 Freedoms, an IHG Premier, Marriott Boundless, a United Explorer, 2 Ink Cash and an Ink Preferred. I really only use the CSR and the Ink Cash (for actual work stuff).

tWife has a Marriott Boundless and Marriott Amex Business, and an Ink Preferred. She has the credit card game so if I mess with her it has to be a card she will value and keep and not just churn. She travels for work more than I, and we travel maybe 4 times a year for vacation, almost always at Marriott, MVC or DVC. We keep uses her Marriott account to build points and pushing to titanium, but always just shy. But, that means my IHG and Marriott annual nights often are hard to use or get wasted.

So ... I'm not sure if I should keep trying to churn UR cards, like yet another Ink, if I should jump to Amex Plat or Citi VX (although now I'd have to have another system to figure out and maybe of the benefits I have from the CSR). Or maybe I should get my wife a Marriott Brilliant, which would get her titanium, and she would easily use the $300 credit. And I could maybe down grade her boundless to a bold. We are near Cleveland so southwest here isn't a great option, and we don't really fly enough to get much benefits from United. I though to try Hilton, but I'm not sure it's worth the maybe 2 or 3 nights a year I stay without being with my wife where we work to rack up Marriott nights.

Your current cards sort of mirror mine. I also am in the what card to get quandary but do intend to get a Hilton Aspire sooner or later. Probably end of September. Pretty easy for me to spend 6k organically - I have grandchildren!

I have the Marriott Brilliant and it gives Platinum status. Or are you saying that with the Brilliant you could work up to Titanium somehow? I've gotten decent value from the Brilliant, kept it a few years and product changed it, then was offered a points upgrade on my other Amex Bonvoy. The plat credit has paid off and the FNC has been worth it, so no losses.

Not sure you can hold both the Chase Marriott personal and any Amex Marriott personal but I do get confused with their rules. As it stands I hold 4 Marriott cards but they predate the newer rules.

I 'think' I saw the first email but it was inconsequential at the time as I have better rewards on all of these except office supply stores, the reason I keep the CIC. If I didn't hold other cards this would be a pretty decent regular driver card, lol
