I love credit cards so much! v7.0 - 2025 (see first page for add'l details)

We’re into our second week of our Japan trip. Currently at the Mimaru Suites Kyoto Shijo. Paying cash, but after this trip I think we’re going to have enough CC points to make a Puerto Rico trip happen.
Anyway nice hotel with enough room for 4. 2 bedrooms with a kitchen table room in the middle. Nice deep Japanese bathtub. A couple of native English speakers at the front desk which is very helpful. Haven’t used the buses here. They are way too busy. Either train/subway or taxi.
Went to Fushimi Inari this morning and then onto Uji. Uji was a nice break from the insane Kyoto crowds. Did the tea ceremony sponsored by their tourist center that cost 1000 yen a person which is quite reasonable. No English speakers though - all by phone translations.

Chases points boost is live, looks like 2x on some hotels and some airlines, im sure there is a Reddit post on it but I haven't had to dig.
I’m only seeing it on United. Which should be great as I live in NJ and usually fly out of ewr. But we’ve been trying to avoid ewr due to all the issues they’ve been having. When we fly United we always do at least economy plus anyway so I’ll have to compare vs the other options out if hpn or lga.

There's a post on DoC with what's been found so far. About to walk out the door so can't grab it.

This might be better for you then as with the UAL MP CC I was only seeing discounts on coach only (that's economy for you younger folks :) )

I am getting 2 cents per point on the JW at Bonnet Creek. For when I'm looking to go $1,246.50 for two nights or 62,325 points.
I am hoping it will continue to get the 2 cents per point so that I can try and pay 49,500 points and $256.50 cash to hopefully trigger the $250 Edit credit come October when that is opened to existing cardholders.

Now that I'm at work the link.

May be helpful but it's still bookingthrough a portal so I'm not sure it's the way I'd want to go unless it was significant savings or the only way to get what I needed ex no ability to transfer points.

Got an email about the Points Boost changes to CSP, and found an interesting addition that I haven't seen mentioned:

$50 credit toward Chase Travel, on us

Find inspiration on where to go next and check out the latest offers when you book through Chase Travel.

On top of your $50 hotel credit, cardmembers who joined within the last year can now enjoy a little something extra—a one-time $50 credit toward any purchase on Chase Travel.*

To redeem, just book your itinerary through Chase Travel by June 23, 2026.

I'll be looking for a way to use this extra $50 credit stat. I already used the $50 hotel credit... This should be helpful for many of us who got a CSP recently during the elevated offer! These two credits essentially pay for the $95 AF.

Sorry to make light of your misfortune, but this sentence amused me. I just have this image in my head of someone sat innocently in a parked car when a deer comes out of nowhere and smashes into the car. 🚘🦌 = :scared1:

I don't envy you your insurance renewal.
LOL, this happened to my MIL, she was at a stop light and a deer ran into the side of her car.

I'm hoping these can be combined for a $100 hotel credit.

Got the same for my ink preferred but am not sure what to use it on. Will need a rental car in Aug, so I will probably compare that rate with costco.

I got a separate email for the Ink Preferred, but mine made no mention of the travel credit, just points boost and DashPass benefit...

I'm thinking to use the travel credit from CSP on an "Activity". We will need airport transfers when we go to Asia later this year, or I could use it on tickets for one of the attractions we'll visit.

ETA: I tested doing a booking for an airport transfer, and the $50 travel credit shows up as a promotion you can apply at checkout. So it's different from how the hotel credit tracks. It does state the following, and expires one year from today (June 23, 2026):
  • If you don’t use this entire promo credit in one purchase, you’ll forfeit the remaining balance.
  • If you cancel your trip, we’ll reissue a promo credit for any of your refundable bookings unless you opt for a travel credit instead.
  • If you cancel a part of your trip, we’ll issue a promo credit for the cancelled part.
  • If you cancel more parts of your trip, we’ll issue a single promo credit, combining all your reissued promo credits into one.

Huh, my email for the CIP does not have that. I wonder if it's one credit per CSP/CIP, or if it will work on both... I guess I'll need to test.

ETA: DoC has an article up about the CSP credit, and then reports that:
  • Some INK Preferred cardholders are getting the $50 credit email as well.
So maybe not all CIP cardholders are eligible :(
