I love credit cards so much! v7.0 - 2025 (see first page for add'l details)

IMO, even for a quick weekend trip with just DH, I am still on my phone a lot checking wait times. If it's not wait times, it refreshing lightning lanes. I'm on my phone SO MUCH at Disney that I carry two extra battery packs. It is sad and does take away from the magical experience. I miss the old "run to the fastpass machine" days :(

I will say, however, that DH and I had the GREATEST Disney day we've had in a long, long time when we went last April. It was the day after we did a HS/MK park hop day, and I was on my phone ALL DAY making Genie selections. I was burnt out from checking the app. We went to Epcot on a Saturday, no park hopping, no lightning lane, and no expectations. The only things I wanted to do was get VQ for Guardians (which I secured at 7am before leaving the hotel), and see some topiaries. We wound up having the most chill, relaxing day, walking around leisurely looking at flowers, eating a bunch of yummy things from the food booths, we got to ride Guardians AND everything else by just showing up and waiting (not even checking wait times beforehand), and we didn't wait longer than 70 minutes max, which was for Remy. I kept telling my hubby over and over that this was the best Disney day in recent memory. I thought wow, maybe this is how passholders that get to visit all the time with no expectations and no time crunch must feel! LOL

As a local I will say this is my normal Epcot trip. Since the creation of Genie/Lightning I have only bought it once. That was to make sure my son got on Splash Mountain its last weekend. I refuse to pay for something that used to be free. I use my phone to take photos and maybe check wait times. Haven't brought a battery pack with me in years as our newer phones have pretty long battery life.

For those who did the US Bank Triple Cash, I was just reading the fine print and it says all charges have to be on the main account. Should I take back the employee card I just gave DH?
US Bank is an exception to the general 'rule' that AU/employee card spend contributes to MSR. For USB to make MSR it all has to come from the main card.

It's buried down in point 16 on DOC's list of things to know about USBank, and I really think it should be in the top 5.

I agree that is something that should be listed much higher.

Probably until MSR is met.

Does DH have an iPhone that you can put your main card into his applepay? That way it should count if he uses ApplePay to check out.

Thanks for the tips. DH is not “tech savvy” or maybe tech interested. He refused to have his own personal email until I forced him this week. He knows LinkedIn exists but has never used it. I am giving him a week to recover then will be making him a list of things to work on.
Wow, I don't know how you find a job these days if you want to avoid using technology in your job search. I mean, I guess it's possible that a friend knows of a job opening in their company. But short of that, how would you find out about openings?

I wonder if he's aware that companies use AI in resume screening these days. If your resume doesn't have the right words in there, you may be rejected before a live person even sees it.

I suppose it all depends on the industry. I shouldn't be so negative. I'm a pessimist by nature. Sorry about that!

I would pay if it involved someone who hasn't had the Disney exposure I've enjoyed. Otherwise I've never paid for genie or LL. I'll stand in a long line if I feel like it or skip it or show up in the early hours if applicable, but nothing is mandatory and many things are interesting at a slow and relaxed pace.

There is a local @OKW Lover ) on Disney for Seniors (on disboards) who uses her AP and walks Disney like an exercise program, around the MK, partially around 7 seas, etc. I'd be doing the same if I were there. Sometimes she stops for lunch. I used to plan on moving to the area and then I gave it up as I don't want to be separated from family for longer than a couple of weeks at a time.

I've never had a phone that needed a battery pack in any of the parks. I did used to top of when they had the chargers in the Chase lounge in Epcot (miss that spot!)

And the screening is exactly why keeping connections is especially essential currently. If you know someone they can get your resume into the hands of a person even if the screening would weed it out.

Keeping connections even if you aren’t currently job hunting is important too. My husband goes golfing, meals or coffee with people every so often. You never know what will turn up.

Ds and I just finished up 2 days at Tokyo Disney, 1 day in each park. I purchased the unlimited ride / drink package with our 2 night stay at Fantasy Springs Hotel. We had a great time in the parks and I don’t regret purchasing the unlimited package — it was so nice just going on each ride without being on my phone all day (like I was last year when I was here)! I’ll probably post more info when we get back next week, but if anyone has any questions please post and I’ll try to answer while the info is fresh on my mind! By far our favorite park was Disney Sea, so if only 1 day is available that’s what I’d choose! Both parks were very busy, but I’d say that Disney Sea seemed busier.

Though we didn’t have any issue getting on rides in Fantasy Springs (because of our package), this part of the park, after 9am, got super, wall-to-wall people, crowded. LOVED all the rides in FS, my favorites being Peter Pan, Frozen and Rapenzul’s Lanterns. I did Frozen 3 times, lanterns twice and Peter Pan twice (and of course I rode Tinkerbell’s buggies!) — would’ve done PP 3 times but my vertigo kicked in on the second ride and I didn’t think I could manage doing it a 3rd time — Frozen and PP were both outstanding (not to disparage lanterns, just really, really loved the other 2!). Walked 26k steps today, so looking forward to relaxing for 2.5 hours on the train to Osaka tomorrow.

Interesting how they managed the Priority Passes in Fantasy Springs: we had to show our Priority Passes, scan our room keys and show a ribbon bracelet that we were given on our first ride (in FS), for proof that we were staying at the FS Hotel. Outside of FS we only showed our Priority Passes.

Our room is okay, I wouldn’t say it’s winning any design awards, but the beds are comfy and it’s very clean. Breakfast here is excellent, miles better than what I remember at the Disneyland Hotel in 2019.

Anyone with a stay booked at the Hyatt Centric Ginza — it’s an excellent hotel. I loved it so much that I’m staying again 1 night next week before heading home. I love the Ginza area — I realize that it’s not for everyone, but it hits all the right notes for me. Breakfast was AMAZING, special thank you to the member here who gifted ds and I GoH —it saved us $$$$! We stayed on points and it was definitely worth it! We landed at Haneda around 9:45pm; I had a pretty bad headache so decided to take a taxi to the hotel. It was the right call since it was almost 11:30 by the time I got to my room. The taxi cost $65.00, not something I’d do if we had landed earlier in the day since the monorail is so fast and easy to use.

Such amazing members on this board. I have learned so much and would never be able to travel like this without the help of the folks here who so generously share their insight and knowledge.

He has Samsung Pay and Google Pay. I was thinking of giving him the physical card and using my phone and watch to pay as he uses a card more often.

I agree. To be fair, I'm not sure I even looked very hard at DOC, I mainly went off of everyone here mentioning the card. I'm glad I even read the fine print! I was looking to see if I goofed on also going for the bank bonus. I'm still unclear on that one!

Need hotel recommendation in Venice. Want to use all our hilton points.
Option 1: 30K brand new Hampton by Hilton Venice Isola Nuova
Option 2: 46K Hilton Molino Stucky Venice

Our plan: night one - later arrival, day 2 tour venice, day 3 afternoon train to Milan.
The Molino looks amazing, the Hampton is still being constructed, expected to open May1.

So little time in Venice, though! Most of what's on this map seems centrally located, so that's good sinc eyou'll only have one day.

Are you spending more time in Milan? That's my least favorite Italian City

So, just opened US Bank Silver Biz Checking account for DH. For the $500 bank bonus and also a place to move the $2400 in rewards from the US Bank Biz Cards.

I am going to try for INK again in a few weeks and will open a US Bank Silver Biz Checking Account for myself. I know you can put $3000 on a credit card (hopefully a new INK card). Does that $3000 count towards the $5000 you need in there for 60 days?

Another question for you world travelers. Going to Europe in May (Collette Tours). Booked my own airfare (on points of course) for the 6 of us. Flying from MSP to Vienna with a layover in Amsterdam. Originally the layover was 1 hour and 30 minutes. Now they changed the original flight and we only have 50 minutes. This is scaring me a bit. Do we have to go through customs or something when we land in Amsterdam?

Not sure if we can change flights - if so, the only other flight leaving Amsterdam to Vienna is 5 hours later. I messaged KLM and they said it was in the allotted time for transfers... HELP!!

Glad I looked also as they had changed planes and we didn't have seats (that we already paid for) and they wanted me to choose seats and pay again. Chatted with them and they got us seats pretty close to what we had originally.

I am full of questions today...

DH just got the AMEX Delta Gold Biz Card. I just ordered myself an employee card. Just want to confirm that any purchased I make with the employee card will go towards the SUB.. Pretty sure it does, but want to make sure.

No, just one day. Funny, most of the people I've talked to aren't a fan of Venice. Everyone has told me that one day there is more than enough.

Yes you would clear customs in Amsterdam. You get off the plane, pick up your checked bags & go to passport control/customs then there is a place to drop your bag off again and head to your gate.

Found a little gem in DoC comments about the US Bank Triple Cash biz software credit. Pepper app codes the MCC that triggers it. I plan to buy $1 Amazon GC through Pepper every month and hopefully get $100 in 11 months. Assuming I remember, the code doesn't change, and Pepper stays around lol.

Also got around to doing the Pepper Amex Offer. Got spend $75 get $30 for 3 players. That reminds me, DD will be 13 soon, so P4 for offers!
