Ack just applied for the Chase Hyatt card and got the "under review, we'll let you know in 7-10 days" message.

My best guess is that I am near the total CL for Chase cards. I'll probably call tomorrow to see, unless 7-10 days isn't a reliable sign of an impending rejection . . .
Is the 7-10 days from the phone status line, or on the website/email after submission?

The language on the website is generic, and really means nothing other than it's not an instant approval or denial. The phone status line has the message we can interpret. 7-10 from the phone means they're sending you a letter in the mail. This letter is usually available in your account the next day, and is either a denial or request for more information (like id verification).

2 weeks means it's still being processed and is usually a good sign. The phone line is 1-800-432-3117 or 1-888-338-2586.

While the shark vacuum we have is as heavy as some, it's an upright and is heavy enough it bothers my back.

We don't have a ton of carpet and I like to use it on the vinyl wood floor, it's easier and mor3 efficient than sweeping. If anyone sees any cordless stick vacuums on a black Friday ad can you please let me know? I'll look buy I know we don't all look at the same places and see the same things.

Makes me wish I'd looked for the one at clearance a blogger posted about a couple weeks ago, was a great deal but it had also been awhile since I had vacuumed so I wasn't thinking of the issues.

Thank you! The message from the phone status line is two weeks. I don’t hate calling but of course I’d rather the card just magically show up. I guess I can wait a few days and see if the status changes.

I think onboard charges won't work as they code with the ship name. Payments code NCL Miami. Prepay gratuities, excursions, or OBC should work. You can also check DPs on Cruise Critic forums.

Thanks for the heads up again. I think we will just pre-pay gratuities since NCL doesn't let us use NCL non-refundable OBCs for gratuities anyway.

I will also pre-purchase OBC in advance to get to the full $1000 on each card. Cruise Critic DPs are that any unused refundable OBC will be paid out in cash the day before disembarkation.

I got a flyer in the mail for the Hilton Surpass (i've only ever had the no fee Hilton Biz) for 170K points after spending $3K. Underneath it says "that's up to 4 free nights..."

Is this a particularly good offer, or just average/run of the mill? Any thoughts on how easy it is to find properties to be had for only 42.5K points a night?

I don't have any specific need for Hilton points but as I am learning, it's nice to have "currencies" here and there to make my little one- and two- night weekend trips less money out of pocket.

It seems Chase does not like me this week. Thursday I tried to open checking and savings accounts online and was denied. The message said I could go into a branch. Friday I applied for a SW biz cc and got an "In review" status. I have been checking my email and Chase business account obsessively to see if anything shows up and so far nothing is there.

I made an appointment for Monday to go into the branch to open the accounts. Would the Chase employee be able to check on my SW cc application while I am there also?
For a biz card, I would wait until Monday to check. I have applied for quite a few Chase biz cards and I never get approved over a weekend unless I get instant approval. I feel like nothing moves on biz accounts on weekends, I usually see an approval around mid morning on Monday. YMMV. I would think a banker could see, but not sure as I have no experience with that.

I was approved for a new CIC on 11.3, with a support from DH. When should I see the support points pending in his account? I believe they usually post on Tuesdays, would it be this Tuesday?

Thanks. I will check tomorrow before I go for my appointment. I guess if I ask the worse they can tell me is they cannot check.

I'm not positive, but I think that is on the high end, if not the highest, for that card. I got the Aspire earlier this year and it was at 180K. I just checked and it appears the 170K for the Surpass and the 180K for the Aspire are public offers now and elevated from what they normally are.

I got the 15k for $1000 within a few days of downgrading. It then went up to 25k for $2000. But I'm holding out for the 40k/$2000 offer. Have done that one twice now. At some point I might give up and take the 25k if it's still around. Taking a calculated gamble. :)
How often have you seen that come around?

Target Circle offer - Dyson V8 Origin on sale today only for $279.99.

Anyone else going for companion passes again this year?

2 years ago I got the 2 biz cards and DH got the one person that had 120k sub with incremental bonus for 12k in spend.

I guess this year we flip? Except I will need to get 2 personal cards. He’s 0/24 and I’m 1/24 until April. Trying to decide who to start with- probably DH and the biz cards as they need to be more spread out.

After this I think well be hitting AA for a possible Japan trip in 2025. I might go over 5/25 for the first time ever, even if I really don’t want to. I think we can still get 3 AA cards a price- the citi personal and bix and the Barclays personal? The Barclays biz doesn’t currently appear to be available.

I should be able to get the shark pet cordless stick at Fred Meyer on bf for 149, reg 359. Which is less than thr 199 kohls has it on sale for. I just have to go in store, can't buy online. They open at 5, thankfully it's like 3 miles away so I can come home and go back to sleep. Though I'll get our rolls there on Thanksgiving and see where/how many they have in stocks to see if I can sleep in. Not sure how quick they'll sell.

Do either of you currently hold a SW card? That way you could use support links?

If not, I would start with the personal cards that are currently at 75K/$3K MST.

And I think going over 5/24 is worth it for Japan.

Yes, I currently have a biz and DH currently has a personal, so there would be referrals.

I was thinking refer DH to one of the biz before holiday shopping season, get a start on the spend. Then mdd the personals before the elevated offers end in December on referrals from DH. Then in early 2024 get the second biz for DH.

I think we’d just be doing economy to Japan- finding 4 business seats and getting all the points seems impossible. I’d like to keep someone under 5/24 so we can keep going with the inks for UR for hotels.

I think that's the highest points offer for that amount of spend. There was a 130k plus free night certificate offer that I prefer, but that would be less flexible than points you can keep indefinitely with activity.

The annual fee recently went up to $150, but now you get $50 every quarter for any Hilton spend.

During the great AA shut down of… 2021? ..my account, and my husbands account, were locked. I had definitely done things, on a small scale, that would have gotten my account shut down. However, it was never actually shut down. The accounts still exist, when I fly, I still earn miles. However, when we try to use the miles, it doesn’t let us and when I call it says I need to talk to the security department.

Well, I’ve been told for months, now years, that the security department will call me back however, that has never happened. Is this something I take to Twitter to complain about? If the account gets shut down, it’s no big loss frankly, since I haven’t been able to access it. I just have never complained on Twitter before….
