What is exactly Pop Up Jail and how does one get in it? I hear the phrase a lot but I have no idea what it is and I have been eyeing an Amex.

Super late to the conversation but am I the only one who has lotions and potions that sorry, just cannot be trusted to foreign 1 bag, 100ml rules? I once had (of COURSE) a security guy at LHR throw away my gas perm contact solution bottle that was (thankfully) almost empty --the full one was in my checked bag but had I just done carry on only it would've meant glasses for the entire trip (the horror!!). Not to mention my La Mer moisturizer, sun screen, etc. Once a lady is at a certain age...well, I just cannot limit my hydration y'all.

And then, of course, there are shoes 😂 😂 😂
I read posts from folks about doing 2-week trips with just carry-ons and I'm like: more power to you but no way that would work for me, lol

And I'm not a lady nor do I pack a lot of moisturizer, so don't have those excuses 🤣

When you apply for an Amex online you may get a pop up saying you are not eligible to get the special offer on the card but you can still proceed with the application and get approved without a special offer. So you are not getting a typical denial of a credit card, just not eligible for a special sign up bonus. So people call it pop up jail.

On mine app I clicked on benefit and rewards, then ultimate rewards and scrolled down and it showed I used 300 of the 300 under annual travel credit
Ok - to be exact what I'm seeing is...
1) when I look at TC, it says redeemed
2) when I look on app under benefits used, it doesn't list TC
3) when I look at app under benefits UNUSED, it lists the TC,$300,"statement credits you're missing out on"
4) when I click on that box it just shows redeemed again.
So when does it reset? and why is it under unused credits if it hasn't reset? I'm stuck here

This is what I was told from Chase via SM. Not sure if it helps or not:
This year's Annual Travel Credit will reset on the first statement date after your enrollment date anniversary, which is the date you became a Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholder. Any eligible travel category purchases posted to your account after that date will earn three points per dollar.

It sounds like yours hasn't reset yet. Not sure why it shows as unused though. Did you get charged the AF yet? DH's was charged 12/1.

I haven't used DH's TC yet, but I did go ahead and use his precheck credit for my renewal. It previously showed as Unused, and now switched to the Used tab, even though the charge is still pending.

Hopefully this helps some.

Thanks- I'm not sure why it reads like it does- Does it have to do with cardmember year vs calendar year? And I I pc'd last December, isn't that cardmember year? (however the AF wasn't charged till spring,so is that considered the 'year'?)

Maybe my phone shows it differently…when I open the app all my cards are shown…then I click on CSR and scroll I don’t see TC…I see benefits & rewards…click on it and scroll down I see card benefits under it 300 annual travel credit says ..redeemed in green

I think things are a little screwed up as they are changing at the first of the year. MY AF was charged on my Nov statement. I expected my travel credit to be available in December....but I did not get credit. SM dances around without a straight answer.

so over on Reddit I got a clue (?) to my dilemma... I went back to original open date on this cc (CSP) and statement date then ended 4/21.... I then pc'd 12/23 to CSR, but didn't pay AF till 5/1/24. So it *seems* this all coordinates with my og open date on cc? And *maybe* (?) won't see new TC till next spring on new AF date?

Random data point - as DS was flying home on Alaska Airlines, I remembered that I had been planning on having DH apply for the Hawaiian card. Found a promo code online, forgot his credit was frozen, so he had to unfreeze TU and Exp, call and was approved. The rep offered to move some of the CL from his Barclays AA card, since he doesn’t need 20,000 on it!

Yeah, I agree I'm reading about different changes but I can't quite figure out what they mean. I think for me, the short version is how long do I have to PC ? is it after 12/24 statement end?

Ever wonder why I drive almost everywhere? My car is a portable closet.

Following because at some point I may get a CSR, or product change.

I waited too long to purchase $50 Hilton Gift Card x2, any recent DPs on card shipping? Should I still order and hope the charge post?

I didnt order because I seen so many posts in groups saying they were sold out.
My orders on the 12th went through, and credited quickly. However, I have yet to receive any shipping confirmation from Hilton since then.

Good news - DH was approved for a CIU from my support! Bad news - it's not showing in his login. Not sure what's going on because he got the welcome email and everything. Any experience with a new card not showing on your login?

Congrats!

How many Chase business cards does he have open?
