I've been scared off the Citi AA cards for several years after the scare several years ago. Decided to try for the Citi card with the higher SUB today and was instantly approved. pixiedust:

AA is typically our second choice of airlines with SWA decreasing their schedules form Chicago to RSW over the past couple of years. Nice to get some AA miles.

DS(19) and I were supposed to be getting ready for a trip to Yosemite & Santa Barbara. For context, DS had never wanted to travel until a few months ago when he asked if we could go to CA. So, this is a big deal for him. Sadly, given the park conditions and closure, we've had to change our plans. He still wants to go to CA, so now we're going to San Francisco, Monterey, Solvang, & Santa Barbara. Lots of driving! I never plan last minute like this, so my head is spinning. We want to go to Muir Woods in SF and the aquarium in Monterey, but other than that I don't know. Anyone have suggestions for things to do?

Near Monterey, Point Lobos is very scenic. Watching a sea otter tapping away at the oyster on its stomach is one of my favorite memories there. We've also done kayaking tours at Elkhorn Slough near Moss Landing (look for discounts on Groupon or Travelzoo).

On the way to Solvang, you can visit Hearst Castle and see elephant seals at the beach nearby.

In SF, the Exploratorium is fun. I used to take DS there. Stop for lunch at the Ferry Building. The Musee Mecanique with old arcade games is fun to poke through if you happen to pass by (free to enter).

Oh we also did Alcatraz, which my DH thought was extremely interesting, being a history nut that he is.

Have lived in the area most of my life, but never been to Alcatraz! Keep meaning to go one of these days lol.

CONGRATS!! Which credit report did they pull? I'm thinking this will be the card that puts me at 4/24.

Congrats! How many inquiries in the last 6 months on the credit report they pulled?

Trying to decide if I should try. I'm 2/6 inquiries, but only 1/24 new accounts.

The Ink Cash earns regular URs. You can transfer them to your future CSP or your P2's CSP if in the same household. They then become more flexible and valuable.

The Ink Premier is the only weird one that's different from CIU/CIC/CIP/CSP/CSR and all the Freedoms.
I have a question about the business cards -- I'm still slightly leary about pulling the trigger on a business card (for no good reason except that I don't like being told no 'cause I don't have a "business business" lol).

My offers in-app show $750 bonus cash back for the Ink Business Unlimited after a $6k spend.
And $750 bonus cash back for a $6k spend on the Ink Business Cash.
Now that I know about the Ink Premier and the inabilibty to transfer points, that one is out of the mix for me; however, these are cash back and not points, right? Does that mean I'll have to file a 1099?

They're points. The offers say $750, but it's really 75,000 URs.

The SUB won't generate a 1099, but supports will if you get over $600 (Chase uses 1 cent per point for URs to calculate those).

Anyone else annoyed by the lack of airline transfer bonuses from Amex lately? It used to seem as if they had transfer bonuses every month to BA and Virgin, but lately nada. I'm waiting to transfer a bunch of points to BA and it's annoying. I wonder if they are cutting back on them? Transfer bonuses are one of the reasons I've come to favor MRs over URs so this would be a not-so-great development.

Chase is being nice with the offers on my new marriott card. 10% at CVS, Lowes and petco. Will get gc at the 1st two, not sure at petco. Tux eats less kibble than Dude so it'll take a lot longer to go through a bag of food. All are good until 6/15.

There was also mcdonalds, jimmy johns and dunkin.

I'm scared, too! But going to try it this pm after my meeting 🤞

Last cc was October so hopefully that's far back enough.

Ugh, so not a denial, but "further processing is required" for the Citi AAdvantage.

Is a recon call recommended for Citi? I've never had a relationship with Citi before.

It might be verification. If you haven't applied for anything since October, you should be 0/6 inquiries. I would think you'd be approved.

I haven't seen any successful recon DPs for denials on this.

The free Shaka Guide today is for the Grand Canyon South Rim Tour.
Thank you for posting this update- I hope you're around all week! 😁

For those who don't have any near term plans, I would still grab these. In my experience the guides I've purchased never expire and they get updated with the app updates. You never know when you'll find yourself on one of these trips!

DH was just approved for another Ink (with my referral). He has 4 now. Will use that for our Countertops Purchase. Still need a new card to pay for remainder of flooring of $6100 (or 2 cards).

I just got an Ink beginning of March so not sure if I should try and get another one or go for something else... I am currently 2/24. I really could use a Chase Personal Card. I kept having them reduce my credit limits and know I don't have a lot extra to work with -and want to transfer credit to get the Ritz Card.
