I decided to book 2 nights at the Hyatt Place Amsterdam airport location in April for 2 nights. Transferred points from Chase to Hyatt and a link popped up for 3000 bonus points for staying 2 consecutive nights. Don’t know if it applies to reservations made with points but you do have to register for the offer. Wanted to mention it in case anyone has Hyatt reservations booked during the promotion dates.
I recall someone mentioning a tool to keep all travel plans in one place. Would you mind sharing? I’m trying to keep track of bus schedules, train schedules, flights, reservations for museums etc and it’s getting overwhelming. 🥹
I use TripIt. Free version works great for me but there is a Pro Version that has alerts and notifications.

Can I lower CL on a Chase card that I just got a month or so ago? Any frowns on that from Chase? They gave an ABSURD amount on recent CSP. Just want to bring it down to a reasonable $5K.

You can, but you might want to hold on to it for a future Chase card if they give a low amount of CL. I usually only reduce if I specifically need an instant approval (MDD) or I know I'm at or above the 50-60% of credit to income ratio that is approaching Chase's threshold.

Thanks. With the way the CL on the CSP is, it's puts us at about 40% ratio, so I was thinking to get that under at least 35% before applying for a new card. I know some have been getting prompted to move CL from other cards during application/approval (?) process, but I don't know if that's true between personal/business cards..? There's room to spare if the threshold is 50%, and with the way the Ink card CL usually are only around $3K anyways, it may be fine. Just hoping for an instant approval on CIU.

Did you book a refundable fare for DH? If not, then you’d have a travel credit instead of a refund on your card.

If so, and you do get the money returned to your card, it sounds like you’ve already made up the spend in other spend. So I wouldn’t think that will be an issue.
I did book a refundable fare because I knew that hopefully I’d earn CP and be able to cancel it.

I just wasn’t sure if I was refunded for the ticket if I would still have spent $5k within my 3 month SUB period.

Unfortunately can’t move Chase CL between personal and business…so it may be best to lower the CL on the CSP before the CIU application…reminder to use a support link from P2 for the 20k URs

im still using google travel never tried trip it whats different about it?
It automatically adds everything in one place. I have the premium version which gives us flight updates.
I was having a difficult time planning Hawaii, we had so much going on that it was difficult to keep track of everything. You can add attachments which makes it easy to pull up QR codes.
When making dinner reservations for Paris I couldn’t remember when/where I was making the reservations so it was easy just to check TripIt

Points stays count. But the really annoying thing about that offer is that it only starts counting on the second stay in the time period.

Chase doesn't frown on you reducing the CL, so you're safe to manage it in advance to improve odds of an auto approval. With every CIC and CIU I've obtained in the last 6 months, I've been given between a $4,000-$6,000 credit limit, so you can factor that in to your %. The 50% threshold is only a guideline, not a hard rule like 5/24. I've known users that had upwards of 75%-80%, but I've never personally attempted to push it there myself.

Feel free to knock the CSP down to something that still gives you some room to reallocate in the future (it's always harder to go back up than come down) and apply away!

Our escape to Mexico was at the right time. We came back the day after the ice storm hit. Seems I lost a few branches but never lost power like most of SE MI. I swear we only lose power on a random sunny day at my house, LOL. My diamond status got me legit NOTHING this trip. Last trip I booked on points and was upgraded to an oceanfront swimup suite. At check in they were like, we have nothing available for all 3 nights, plus the upgrade is only 1 level, so we could have had a garden room. Fun was still had, just missed being able to walk out of our room, hop in the pool and have the bar right there. I will say, the resort was way more filled this year. So I think that likely led to no upgrades too.

I got an email from Hilton on Weds staying I just needed 2 more stays to keep my diamond status. I stayed in Jan, and this stay, and I have 1 in March. Do you think they just weren't counting the Feb stay since we were in the middle of it when the email was sent? I don't want to miss out on diamond if it only takes 1 more stay.

Now I'm in full Ireland planning. I'm HOPING my JB miles post soon! They are showing in the barclay portal but haven't hit my JB account. UGH. I need to book our return flights. I also need to start booking tours I think.

Does anyone know how you get the rental insurance letter for the CSR? I sent a SM today asking about it. I can't believe the trip is almost here! AHHHHH!

I'm also over here seriously considering a new carry on. I just have a super cheap one (it was $90 for 3 bags from Macys). It would be fine, but now that I travel carry on only so much more w/ the BF, I think I want something bigger/nicer. My current set is purple, and it IS my fav color, so I'm looking at purple options, LOL. I just don't know if Away or Monos or whatever are worth that much more, LOL. My BF uses a Travel Pro for his bag and I know he's had his for year and it gets a TON of use. So I've been looking at what they have too. Then there is the part of me that's cheap, and thinks to just use what I have till it breaks, LOL.

That's cool, I never noticed that. I only have the free version, but I see that I can do 3 attachments per trip.

I love TripIt. Makes me happy just looking at the trips I have on it lol. Handy for past trips too when I forget when we went somewhere.

Just want to confirm that when you cancel a web special fare on a domestic flight booked with points on AA, you get the fees back. I canceled and rebooked because the price went down. My points were returned, but not the fees. Does it just take time? The price has gone down a little again today, but I don't want to rebook if I'm eating the cost of the fees.

Yes, fees are refundable. Mine usually automatically refund within a few days, but I have had it where they didn't automatically come back, and I had to call AA to get them refunded after like 2 weeks of not seeing them.

Thanks! This is my first time booking with AA. I'm finally going to use part of my stash of miles earned from the grAAvy train a while back. :-)

The terms of the Hilton diamond status extension offer state that stays prior to the offer being sent count towards the 3 stays, so if you include the stay in January and the MX trip, your March trip should allow you to retain diamond status until March 31, 2024. I called the diamond desk to ask if 2 rooms at the Conrad St James would count -- just 1 room counts for status (thus the throw-away stay a few days ago). They were, as always, very helpful. I love the diamond desk!

If you want to tour the Kilmainham Jail in Dublin you should book your tickets asap to secure your date. I just looked at their website and the only available dates in March are the 22 and 23.

Just got my letter for rental car insurance this morning. Call this number 1-800-356-8955. Ask for a letter for proof of primary rental car insurance. She emailed it to me while I was on the phone with her. Quick and painless.
