Are you familiar with the vegetable called jicama? Do you think the cold potatoes could have been jicama?

I’m not familiar with jicama; having said that I’m reasonably sure that they were potatoes, but then again, maybe it was jicama — the only people who know are ACs catering company since we didn’t get any type of description or menu. The dish was a mystery to me and I am glad that I didn’t eat the second type of raw fish.

Quick recap of my flight to Frankfurt. I had read that Lufthansa keeps their first class cabin warm and I can confirm that this is true. Think tropics warm; add in thick pajamas and a thick duvet and you get me not getting much sleep. I wish that Lufthansa had air nozzles over the seats like AC does (AC even has them in economy class) — that would have made the cabin so much more comfortable. The food was alright, nothing memorable, nothing terrible. I had turkey roulade with mashed potatoes and steamed spinach as my main course. I was the only female in the cabin; 1 empty seat (of 8 total seats). There were 4 crew and 2 large washrooms (I never waited). The IFE was good — I watched a few documentaries (one on Grace Kelly, one of the making of the new Top Gun movie, one on NYC luxuries and another on the World Cup teams with an emphasis on the German team — a full rundown on the players and coaches and their strengths).

Once we landed I took a nice 1.5km walk to the Lufthansa first class lounge and folks, this is where Lufthansa shines. I did something that I’ve never done, which is to have a nice warm shower when I arrived in the lounge, then I changed my clothes; this felt like a real luxury to me and I was thankful to have it available. I made sure that the bathroom was immaculately clean before I partook in my shower as I am quite particular about this type of thing. The lounge had a dining room and I was 1 of just 3 tables seated. The service was stellar and the food was excellent. Of particular note was the fresh mango smoothie!

When it was time to head to the gate I was met at the lounge by a driver and a limo (Porsche Cayenne) and escorted to my gate. The driver escorted me up a flight of stairs which led onto the bridge. She brought me onto the plane and loudly announced to everyone in the vicinity “this is Mrs. Groupie from the first class lounge”. I was embarrassed as the biz class cabin had already boarded and everyone took a brief look at me.

We were supposed to depart a few minutes ago, but apparently the luggage is still loading (hoping that my suitcase makes it to Budapest), so we are departing approx. 20 mins. late.

Try to look in the app. I found mine by clicking on the 0 ultimate rewards points section. This opened a dashboard that showed the bonus spending tracker.

I’ve been off the boards for some months because I was set in strategy and also not planning Disney trip. Haven’t been since 2020.
Well a friend who was widowed by Covid is asking me to go with her and her 2 young kids to Disney world. They’ve never been. I got tickets and reservations, we’re going in January for a week. I’ve been reading tons of blogs but am feeling overwhelmed by the changes. I linked her family to my account but am worried when we get there - can I but genie plus for her from my account? Does she buy genie plus but then I can be in charge of making the reservations?
I am a planner and a worrier so the old system gave me enjoyment of planning and relieved anxiety that I was “controlling” the vacation.
Well now I have more than the usual need to make this fun for them - and a whole new Disney world where the reviews are intermittently horrible and wonderful.
I already talked up ohana to them only to fail at getting an ADR for any of our 5 days despite logging in at 7am…
I read the Disney tourist blog so I’m vaguely familiar with the system and how to do a day. I figure somewhere has written a blog or a trip report that’s almost my exact situation (it’s the internet, almost everything is here). Anyone have helpful direction for a returning dischurner.

I suggest going over the theme parks section of the board where you'll find some helpful threads (and people!) to learn all of this....I'm in the same boat- wasn't expecting to learn all of this,ever, but was gifted some WDW time so now I"m learning!

lots of BF streaming tv deals happening right now...thanks for the tipoff- I ended up with 3 mos HBO max @ .1.99 per month(friends binge time!) a year of Peacock plus @ .99/mo. (Office binging) and the Hulu (with ads) @ 1.99/mo for one year..... that's plenty of watching options and all within my budget!

Has anyone found a Kohl's with Disney Gift Cards? I've checked 3 (1 in person and 2 by calling) and none at any of them. I have 2 offers and don't normally shop Kohl's.

I checked the two in my area and no Disney. I did find Amazon at both so settled for that.

They don't sell Disney. In all the years of using chase offers there I've never found them. No one on the gc thread is either. I'm going to get Amazon so I can buy the suitcase I found. Give me a bit of savings.

I can't believe there's a tub. Crazy. I wonder how often it gets used. Though I know some prefer a bath over a shower and they prob aren't taking a relaxing soak.

Until I found the suitcase I was planning on a mix of amazon, delta if they had 50 and apple since I always give my mom a gc for iTunes in her stocking.

I still need to do my office depot offers, trying a 3rd store Fri and hoping they have dis. First two I checked didn't, well one I couldn't even find the gc and didn't want to ask.

Hopped on the Black Friday deal for Hulu again, and the 55% off deal for the Palazoo in Vegas, my fav. I had to randomly pick some dates and I'll have to hope they work for the BF, lol.

My CSP came with my name wrong and I don't know how it happened. Not sure if I should ask them to send me a new one. It has my First name, last name, middle initial, last name. I'm like ***?!?!? I used the CSR to book our rental car for Ireland. 20k URs and charge $50 for the coverage. I figure that's not too terrible, LOL. I figure it's basically the free URs I got from the 15k match Chase gave on my new CIC, lol.
