I'm back again with another Chase UR-booked flight question. Last time this happened (our originally-booked flights being changed) I was booked on American, and I was able to just go through the AA chat box on their website and tell them what flight I wanted in place of the changed flight and it was not a problem.

This time I'm dealing with United. What they have changed us to is not horrible, but I don't really want a 3 hour layover in Chicago (which is what they changed us to), and there is a different flight that would put the layover at just over 1 hour. The UR travel portal wants me to approve or not approve this change, and I've been just closing the box with the prompt each time it's come up. Can I also just use United's chat function to select a different flight?


We booked this flight based on the leave-time so our oldest son could drop us at the airport on his way to school. There are some American flights available that would also work since they got rid of our original departure time, so if this is an instance where they would also let us cancel, that's an option as well. The chase trip confirmation page says I cannot cancel online.

I can't speak to the flight change but an hour layover at ORD is cutting it close IMO. ORD is huge and known for delays, so unless the gates are close, I'd be hesitant. I'm also super cautious and have missed flights due to delays so YMMV.

Amex Early Access! I haven't told my kid yet. I have appts scheduled for Wednesday so I'm very happy at being able to do this tomorrow.

I added my Plat to my acct. It shouldn't be a problem to switch to a different Amex should it?

Got my 8 for one of the shows, decided not to buy for 2 shows. That was stressful. I think I just hit the MSR on one of my Amex Employee cards lol

Wow! You went for 8! My mom got in right away and got her 2 for 10/14. My sister was next and got 2 for 10/9. I was still waiting. I think I finally got in 30 min in.....I could have gotten her upper bowl but I passed. I finally got her 1 for 10/8. My friend was trying for Austin and kept getting booted in her cart.

Now what to keep vs sell. She's going to lobby for keeping all of them.

Question, I have a new CSP and my husband just got another one (his own) in the mail today. He is about to activate his but I can’t see his card in my app. He might have to create another sign in.
How can I combine the points when we both get all of ours if he has a separate login? Or should I activate his in my app? Will that mess us up (as far as the referral)?

There is the little detail that if you use travel funds to book a WGAP fare, the new ticket inherits the original expiration date of the travel funds so travel would need to be completed by that date. Vs if you let them expire, and pay the $100 fee (which is subtracted from the issued voucher) then the voucher (useable by anyone) will have a new expiration date of 6 months from the date you salvage them (which has to be done within 6 mo of expiration date) as I understand it. I haven't tried this myself but that is what I've read on FT, and is what I'm counting on for the hundreds of SW travel funds (from Am Ex airline credits) in DD's account.

But it definitely seems like a good play if you know you're going to be traveling before the travel funds expire.

My kid and I will use 2, my friend and her daughter are joining us for sure so that's 2 more. My kid might bring another friend so that's 5, leaving 3 up for grabs. We have another mom & player on our team that are trying to get tix so maybe they join us if they aren't successful. All softball players and the night I have tickets for is our typical practice night lol

I had tabs open for the Monday and Wednesday Austin shows. We went with Wednesday, my cart total for Monday was twice the price and while I love my child, I have a limit to what I was willing to spend.

He'll need his own account for his card. When his points post you'll be able to move them to your account (or yours to his). You may be able to do that within the account or, more likely, you may need to reach out to Chase via SM to get the accounts linked, once linked you can easily move points.

I managed to get 2 for the 10/9 show. Works out perfect as that's our fall break. It was kind of frustrating as everything I picked for a long time I would get the "oh someone else grabbed these" message. I didn't even try for the other dates that I got verified for, this was the date that worked best for us. I do hope that everyone could get the dates that they wanted. I have a friend that was going to try but I haven't heard from her yet.

You have to call Flying Blue to and cancel the award flight for free, then you’ll have to rebook the new flight. I’ve done it a couple of times. Points are returned instantly.
Yes, the MR transfer is instant.

Thanks for the info. I think we need to push our flight back about a month. I don't think I've ever tried to change an AF flight booked on points.

I personally would not be comfortable with a one hour layover unless you knew what other options there are after your scheduled flight right now. I was supposed to have a two plus hour layover both directions on my work trip to vegas last month. Delays on both sides ended up bringing those down to the point I was walking up to my United connection in ORD as boarding was starting and pretty much had to run from one end of MSP to the other to make my Delta connection on the way home.

I believe you mentioned a while back looking into Tabacon Thermal Resort & Spa, but their standard rooms only sleeping 3. I was able to message them and they said to book the standard room on points and then reach out and let them know there would four in the room. I did that and they confirmed they would have us in an Orchid 2 Queens instead of Orchid King. We also have Andaz Costa Rica Resort at Peninsula Papagayo booked.

go to https://www.chase.com/mybonus and type in all your prefixes for chase cards, next one comes up in July. typically I get 2-3 cards that come up. (they are usually every quarter) but sometimes they have some random ones pop up.
