Okay Harry Styles people, who got picked for the presale? My daughter and one of my friends have so far. My 17yo is over the moon!
Amex Early Access! I haven't told my kid yet. I have appts scheduled for Wednesday so I'm very happy at being able to do this tomorrow.

I added my Plat to my acct. It shouldn't be a problem to switch to a different Amex should it?

I'm way down south, although I do drive up to PA often to see my daughter who lives outside of Philadelphia. :)

Is there some reason I can't use the full value of the VGC?
You are. You’ll need to cover the 2.85% fee so you apply $19x.xx to the actual tuition and the rest of $200 covers the fee.

We're up to my 17yo, my sister, my mom and my friend who all got access. I didn't. You should be able to pay w/ any Amex as long as it's Amex.

Good to know. I will be at Gillette in July for The Weekend. It’s a graduation gift for my DD. While I’m not staying at the Hilton Garden Inn (wish I was) I am using IHG points and staying at a Holiday Inn Express about 10 miles away. I guess we will just wait for the traffic to clear and drive to our hotel. At least we won’t have to drive the hour plus to get home that night.
3 hours and we still saw people leaving!

some people used uber from their hotel, then they get in and out of vip lot

Is there any way to figure out which cards I used for paying global entry. I've got my niece's GE due for renewal and don't want to use a card I already used.

If I book flights using AA miles from my AAdvantage account, but DH has the free luggage benefit on his AAdvantage # (from Barclays biz card), will that be applied to the reservations I made as long as he is one of the passengers on the booking and I input his AAdvantage #?
I'm not sure because one of the requirements is that you have to be on the same reservation as the cardholder.

Not sure about bags but when I booked AA tickets through DH’s account, my status transferred to that reservation and the three of us could upgrade for free.

On the Chase app, you can look under the "benefits" section of the card and click through to the "see all benefits." it will tell you which card benefits you have not used.

I ended up cancelling the Holiday Inn and I got a room at The Hilton Garden Inn. I had 114,000 I was saving for a different trip but I really hate traffic. Right after I booked it I went back to see how much it would be if I didn’t use points. It was sold out 😳. If I remember correctly the room was over $800 for a night. Thanks to this hobby I had points to use. I feel better about staying within walking distance. Plus we don’t have to pay for parking.

Eta: a week later for Elton John rooms are $1391 😮

24 hours ago DH and I had 460,000 MRs, as of today we are down to 52,000. We transferred points go BA for our Japan trip next summer and to Flying Blue for Paris this winter, AirFrance released J seats (217,500 miles for 4) so we upgraded, we had to add a day to our trip but I’m okay with that.

Wondering was it easy to change your flight? I saw that there's currently no change fees for Flying Blue award flights. Considering grabbing the first flight that works as it's released and change if the flight I really want becomes available.

Also, was the MR transfer instant? Saw some conflicting info online.

You have to call Flying Blue to and cancel the award flight for free, then you’ll have to rebook the new flight. I’ve done it a couple of times. Points are returned instantly.
Yes, the MR transfer is instant.

We’re supposed to go to Niagara Falls this weekend but everyone in our family has coronavirus. I booked the hotel using UR points. Of course the cancellation policy says I had to cancel within seven days of the trip in order to get 100% refund and sadly I didn’t know I had coronavirus until closer to. When I called Chase travel they confirmed no refund since I’m outside the cancellation window. What are the chances that calling the hotel will get me a refund? It’s only 47,000 points so I’m willing to just eat it but figured I’d see what the bolder travel experts would do.

saw this on Reddit
  • All Hyatt , including personal and small business: “If your account is not open for at least three months, Hyatt and Chase reserve the right to deduct the Bonus Points from your World of Hyatt account.”
  • Marriot Bonvoy (but not on the Marriot boundless): “If your account is not open for at least six months, Marriott and Chase reserve the right to deduct the bonus points from your Marriott Bonvoy account.”
  • All United, including personal and small business: “If your account is not open for at least six months, United and Chase reserve the right to deduct the bonus miles from your MileagePlus Program account.”
  • All IIHG , including personal and small business: “Chase may close your credit card account or suspend your right to use your credit card account, at any time for any reason, including account inactivity.”
apparently, there is an issue where people are opening up accounts from new to game the system and rinse repeat.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr. All my praise on Delta and changing flights to better flights for free, they now just cancelled one of my July flights and put us on a flight that will not work. The only alternative now is to land at midnight. :-(

We've had a terrible time with our Delta flights this summer (4 weeks from now). We've been thru different connecting cities and times and ended up having to move our return back 1 day via a Red Eye. I think this is the 4th itinerary we've had. I just yesterday canceled a room on points for that last night we're not going to need and I swear I'll freak out if they switch us again requiring that night after all.

So the BF springs on me last night that he wants to go to Cancun....TODAY! LOL. The joys of dating a pilot who can travel last minute for free. But this joke did lead to both of us looking up our various point balances and looking at what we could do. I have a trip to NC planned at the end of the month using my 4 Marriott FNC. It's for an area that isn't my fav, but it is on the beach which is a perk. BF and I started looking at Marriott All Inclusives in Mexico to use my FNC instead. He turns 40 in June. And I did want to do something for his bday.

But now I'm faced w/ do I want to try and do both, or cancel NC? I go every summer and have a trip planned in August w/ the kids. My flight is 15k AA miles. I can't rebook it as it was a webfare and nothing seems to be as cheap this summer. My other option is to cancel in June, and use my flight benefits to fly into MYR in July and drive to the beach (it's about 2.5/3 hours). For my trip originally I was going to use IHG points, so I could do that. Only change would be the cost of my rental as they are $$$$$ out of MYR. But using the UT trick seems to work.

I'm one to overthink EVERYTHING! I'm reading the reviews on the various AI's for Marriott and they aren't the greatest. But the idea is more to have a free trip I think than an amazing experience. UGH. I hate my ADD brain.

Question to you experts in using FNC. We are going to see Billy Joel at MSG in August (hopefully, it's already been changed 4 times lol). Planning to spend 2 nights. I have one FNC from Hilton and over 150,000 points. I am looking at the Midtown Conrad for 95K points for one night and the FNC for the other night. OR, stay at the Hampton right by MSG for 70K a night using points for both nights and saving the FNC. Thoughts? Is the Conrad a good use of that? In real money (lol) it's about $600 a night.

I had to cancel a hotel booked via the UR portal in December and had to cancel after the cancellation window had passed. I called the hotel and they agreed to cancel without penalty. I then called Chase UR, they called the hotel and confirmed they were okay with the cancellation and then refunded me. It took a little while on the phone but worked out. Good luck and let us know if it works out.

I'm back again with another Chase UR-booked flight question. Last time this happened (our originally-booked flights being changed) I was booked on American, and I was able to just go through the AA chat box on their website and tell them what flight I wanted in place of the changed flight and it was not a problem.

This time I'm dealing with United. What they have changed us to is not horrible, but I don't really want a 3 hour layover in Chicago (which is what they changed us to), and there is a different flight that would put the layover at just over 1 hour. The UR travel portal wants me to approve or not approve this change, and I've been just closing the box with the prompt each time it's come up. Can I also just use United's chat function to select a different flight?

We booked this flight based on the leave-time so our oldest son could drop us at the airport on his way to school. There are some American flights available that would also work since they got rid of our original departure time, so if this is an instance where they would also let us cancel, that's an option as well. The chase trip confirmation page says I cannot cancel online.
