Ok, really dumb question:

Is Delta’s award booking limited? If there’s a flight to book with cash, will I always be able to book with points?

A friend is flying to Europe this summer and has SkyMiles they were trying to use… but the only award flights available were Delta One - and they didn’t have enough points for that. The flights they want are still available for cash purchase in the main cabin.

Once they’re gone, do they ever come back or add more?

Not likely. I haven't seen them come back. Anything is possible if a ton of people cancelled, but I would not count on it. I think it's pretty late to be booking awards trips to Europe for the summer unfortunately.

Today’s win: our school’s Parents Association provides lunches to teachers on teacher conference days, and I’m on that committee. Today, we had Chick-fil-A cater. I “graciously volunteered” to put the charge on my credit card (the AMEX Plat through the Resy offer with 15x on restaurants). Net result: 13,315 MRs and 10,589 Chick-fil-A points! (For context, 600 points gets you a free CFA sandwich.). I LOVE CREDIT CARDS.

The Hilton Signia is my favorite and is connected to the Waldorf.
Love this resort so much and think you should stay just so you will learn just how nice it is for next visit…when you can really relax and enjoy .
I think the only upgrade was a nicer pool view . It was nice. !
Thank you! I'll check it out again. I think I looked at it and it was pretty steep for points given my very short stay.

I did something similar for marathon weekend except it was because of a storm. I changed my flight to a night earlier and needed to add a night somewhere. I didn't want to pay $200 for All Stars either. I had a Marriot FNC to burn, and after far too long playing out different scenarios, I chose an airport hotel. It worked out well. Clean, comfortable, free shuttle, and free breakfast. I don't know what you're doing for transportation. That was a factor for me. I was traveling solo and using Mears Connect, and their Marriot options were limited. The airport hotel was the easiest and least stressful option for me, even if it wasn't the best use of a FNC.
I should have mentioned that--we are planning to just do rideshares so the airport hotel was appealing for the reason you mentioned (free shuttle). I guess I should make sure that the shuttle runs after midnight though. The airport hotels also don't have the resort fees, which is a benefit. I was weighing the resort fee against diamond perks, but from my reading of a lot of the Hilton hotels near Disney it doesn't sound like the diamond perks are great.

Thank you both!

I am way overthinking this one night stay, but I was hoping some of you might have experience with the different Hilton's in Orlando. We are flying in for Princess weekend from the West Coast and land after midnight (12:35 am). I suspect we won't get to our room until at least 1:30 or 2 am. I didn't want to burn DVC points on that first night so I planned to just add a night somewhere. I'm now kind of regretting that decision since this is already a split stay, but I digress ...

Anyway, it looks like my cheapest Disney option is about $200 for All Star Movies. Not a bad option, but then I realized I had Hilton points and could use those for a stay either near the airport (just to get to bed sooner and leave first thing in the morning) or stay near Disney and maybe get free breakfast, an upgrade, and a late checkout with my Diamond perks. We don't have any real plans on Thursday except to go to the Expo and hit a park later, so hanging around and enjoying a lazy breakfast and being able to come back to our room after the expo would be great with a potential late check out.

I found a standard award for 50,000 at the Beuna Vista Palace Disney Springs Area and thought that would be great, but then I read some pretty negative TripAdvisor reviews, including that Diamond perks at that property were very limited.

There was a standard award at the Waldorf but it was pretty steep (I want to say 80k), which seemed silly for such a short stay and getting there so late.

So what would you guys recommend? Any good Hiltons either at the airport or at Disney Springs that have great Diamond perks? Any favorite Hilton properties? There are too many to choose from, LOL.
I stayed at the palace one in Disney Springs back in December. The hotel was ok, the shuttle service to the parks was great. But our room smelled super musty.

Surely his name is on property taxes or a home insurance bill? Maybe a phone or cable bill would work?
No cable or home phone. Cell bill is in my name. Our prop taxes has his name, but it doesn't match exactly. (Long story, it has a hyphenated last name for DH, but he had a name change, and only uses one last name now. So that doesn't match the exact name on his app.) I do have homeowners and car insurance which has BOTH our names. It's not really a "bill", just a notice that they will automatically withdrawal the premium. The car insurance is from October, homeowners a bit older (March 2021). Any chance ya'll think either of those will work?

Yes, I'm realizing now the mistakes I've made, lol. Of course there are plenty of credit card bills in his name :rotfl2:

I've run into this as well for different things. One of them being registering my kids for school. For various reasons all of our house stuff is in a trust. So the trust name is what is on almost all of the tax and utility bills. I had to provide paperwork showing our names were on the trust, and the trust owned the property to provide proof of residency for the school. We only have one bill that has both of our names on it lol. It was never anything we thought about 12 years ago when this was all set up but it for sure has been a pain a few times.

I don't remember what I used to verify my dh's when they asked, but none of our utilities are in his name and I found something that worked.

Yep. We've never had to verify for any credit card apps or otherwise, so this is a first for us. Other things that required verification, we always use bank statements, pay stubs, tax returns, and that sort of thing. Ugh.

I'll try the car insurance autopay notice and see if that will work. It's worth at least a try I guess.

Not sure how set you are on it being a Hilton. But if you have Hyatt or URs, the Hyatt Regency MCO is in terminal (12k points standard rate). I haven't stayed there yet, but that's my plan when we have a late arriving flight.

Air France and KLM, which are Sky Team partners, still have plenty of award tix available this summer, and they are way less miles than Delta. Not sure if it's possible, but maybe they could call the Delta line and see if any award tix are available on those partners using their Delta miles??

I would send all three of those, even if the name is slightly off. .In the end, I think they are just trying to verify he is a real person, living at the address listed, and confirming that he did, in fact, apply.

I love this! I am in charge of concession stand at the HS and have also been able to accumulate some credit card and lots of CFA reward points this way. At least I get a little something for all the hours I put in volunteering.

Well, I just re-read the notice, and it says they want "Proof of social security card for authorizing officer", and "Proof of federal tax id for business ". For the latter, it shows that the acceptable documents are either IRS EIN/TIN confirmation letter, or Tax account transcript from the IRS. So I'm not even sure if an "address verification" type bill will help at this point. That IS listed as an acceptable document for the Business Address, but it doesn't seem like that's what they're looking for.

Doing some hotel research for Japan 2023.
I've got a couple of places bookmarked for Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo. Hoping to be able to stay at a Disney Resort but that will be decided at a later time.
I need help with a place in Hiroshima, we are staying 4 nights in Kyoto followed by 2 nights in Hiroshima, maybe 3 as we plan to take a rest day between Hiroshima and Disney (probably be cheaper to stay in Hiroshima vs Disney area).
What part of town should we stay? Any hotel recommendations? Probably looking at 2 rooms.

I did this with both our coffee club at work and consessions at Sams. Prob not as great as some of you all do, but 3% back isn't bad

Wouldn’t matter. I am using them for hotels that aren’t even 40000 value. I have no other use for them this year and I need to stay in specific locations. It’s all better than paying cash 😜

I’m in this situation as well. My trip to Oregon has me staying at lower than 40k point hotels due to where I want to be. As long as the cash price is lower than my AF, I use my cert. Just not enough travel to hold out waiting for a better redemption. The FNC would just expire if I did that. .

I'm thinking about transferring DH's SW RR to my account, for the sole purpose of helping with MSR. He was 20,000 RR, which would cost $200 to transfer using my Biz Performance which then would get credited. Does it count towards MSR?
that is what I did. Maxed out the credit on 50k mile transfer and had 500 on the MSR. Sweet deal.
