So if my Chase offers on P2 debit card, that it says we redeemed on 9/30, haven't credited yet, I am assuming we are probably out of luck at this point? P2 is not going to call for that.

For the Amex retention offer on the Delta plat, can I do it on a weekend with chat, or is it best to do it on a weekday?

I got my newest card Monday, made all the charges to meet the spend by Thursday LOL. Three were at Sams the day I got the card. The two $96 charges posted to the account on Wednesday, the $600 charge is not posted and no longer pending. Come on Sams, I need those points, and I have no idea how soon after you get the card that FNBO cuts the first statement.
I did the chat on a weekday but I'm not sure that it matters. Like someone else said for biz it might but I don't think it does for personal.

For those that reached out for the match in CIU do you have multiple ink cards? I am slightly worried about more eyes on my account when we have each have multiple, but those extra points would be nice!

DH and I have multiple CIU/CIC's and I asked for the match. Just did it yesterday and am waiting on a response.

P2's (8/29) reply has me wondering if they'll match or not. There's only $10-ish left to meet the spend so I'm going to reply once that's done and see what happens.

"the offer you requested was 90,000 bonus points after you spend $6,000.00 on purchases in the first three months your account is open. Our records show that you have not met the spending requirement of $7,500.00 yet for your original offer.

Once you meet the required spend, please reply to this email to claim the offer. We'll post the original bonus of 75,000 points to your account within six to eight weeks after the billing cycle in which you qualify."

Absolutely no mention of the extra UR being credited. I'm going to sm about mine (8/16) now.

I got the same wording in my reply. I interpreted it to mean that after I meet the $7500 spend, I can "claim" the higher offer and they'll deposit the difference (15k), but the 75k will post as usual with the automated system in 6-8 weeks (but we all know usually posts at statement close).

Agree it can be a little clearer. But if they weren't going to match, they would specifically say so (been there lol).

If you have a BoA cc, mark your calendar for Nov 5. Extra 2x points for purchases transacted that day. (Takes you to BoA website) My plan is to pay my mortgage via Plastiq and I'm hoping to get 9.25% on the first $2500. There is a surprise extra 2x on both personal BoA cards P2 has (I'm guessing it's targeted) until 12/31/22. I only found out about it by making a purchase on the cards. Like my recent Costco purchase using the 3% online category ended up getting 7.25% (I have preferred platinum honors). So I've maxed out my Q4 $2500 cap, but all other purchases will earn 3.75% (5.75% on Nov 5) and I should see if my BoA Premium Rewards is also mysteriously targeted for the extra 2x.

Could anyone give me some advice on booking last minute flights from Boston to Ireland (SNN) on points. My DH is from Ireland and his mother is not well. He's waiting a little bit to see how she's doing, but is likely to make a quick decision depending on how things progress. He could be looking to fly out in a day or two or might not be for a week or more.
I have plenty of URs and about 110k MRs. The catch is I don't currently have a Chase card that allows transfers, but I'm planning to get a new CSR maybe even today. ASSUMING I get the CSR. What's my best bet - book through Chase portal? Amex portal? Transfer to Avios? Transfer to someone else? And while first or business class would be awesome - also totally fine with economy. I've never done flights on points aside from SW so I'm kind of clueless on the best approach and would appreciate any advice.

How soon after approval on a CSR can you use the portal? Do you have to wait for the card to arrive or just until it shows in your account online?
ETA: another question - If I transfer MRs to my Avios account, can I still book the ticket in DH's name?

Sorry to hear that!

Looks like there are only direct flights with Aer Lingus? First thing would be to check if there's any availability with Avios. Check both Aer Lingus and British Airways, see which taxes is lower.

If you decide going economy, cash rate may be better than using Avios. Chase portal would be fine, though beware that it can be a headache if you need customer service support. Amex portal would only be a good deal if you're using the points rebate with a biz gold (25%) or plat (35%) on biz/first flight or the airline you have chosen.

Sorry to hear about your MIL, hope things take a turn for the better. I see on United's website, there is a saver fare one-way of 41K miles Econ +$5.60 fees on Aer Lingus BOS-SNN for several days this month. United is a CSR/CSP/CIP transfer partner.

Thank you both, unfortunately it's not looking good. However her quality of life the last couple of years has really not been great so, although it's sad, I think it may be a blessing if it's her time to go. DH is now thinking of trying to fly out on Monday or Tuesday. He's going to book a one-way because he's not sure how long he'll stay. The cash price on Aer Lingus is $831 Monday, $736 Tuesday for one way.
I do have an Amex Biz Gold (just got it) - I think with the points rebate it'd cost $586 (if I'm looking at it correctly).

Thanks for the tip for United, I didn't even know that was an option! If I'm able to get a CSR and can transfer right away, that's one to consider.

But this is what I'm seeing on Avios for Aer Lingus. Nothing on Monday, but Tuesday looks like 13K + $104 - This seems like the best option, right, unless I'm missing something? So I would just have to transfer 13,000 MRs to Avios?

That does look like a good option. In case you need it, change/cancellation fee is $55.

Yes, I think you've got it right. The only hiccup might be the transfer speed from MRs to Avios; the Amex website says it could take up to 48 hours to transfer the points. There is also a small excise fee of $.0006/1MR for the transfer.

There's no excise fee since it's not an US airline. I always forget that fee because I haven't transferred to Delta in a long time.

My MR to BA Avios transfers have always been instant. Never tried Aer Lingus though.

I really appreciate the advice. Thank you. Booking so last minute I'm not too worried about the change/cancellation fee (although good to know for future) but the time to transfer points could be an issue.

DH has found a site skyscanner.com and can book for Monday at $360 including taxes and fees - he says it's a "dodgy website" and reviews say their customer service stinks, but again it being last minute he's not too worried about changes or cancelling. So might just go with that now.

Anyone every heard of or used skyscanner.com?

The Marriott on the Champ D'Lseee is amazing and in London the Hilton Paddington so maybe a reverse!

Thanks--I will check those out. We were in London and May and I loved our hotel (London Edition) but I'm fairly open minded.
Would you happen to have any hotel advice for a family traveling to London? We are 6 and I'm willing to do 4 and 2 or 3 and 3 at a nice hotel - not the amazing fancy ones but something a bit better than an Ibis. I've got the Canopy by Hilton booked on points (1 room for 2) and then a Family Suite for 4 at $750 but any other recommendations? I would be willing to spend up to about $750 a night. I only have Hilton, MR, and UR. London hotels give major sticker shock and, while we usually stay in Airbnb, the decent ones were all as expensive as hotels.

Hilton Paddington is super convenient. quick train from Heathrow, all the mtro lines etc. and we walked everywhere. our room on points was huge (king plus rollaway) and we made use of the executive lounge.

All the points sites say the Aer Lingus transfer is instant. Of course, sometimes things can get held up. If that happened, maybe you can use the miles for his return flight and go to plan B for the outbound?

This is great to know for later! He went ahead with plan B, but has no return flight planned yet, so definitely good info! Thanks!
