Correct! The MSR and the 4x applies to spend on the main card and any additional cards. I double checked the terms. :) You'll have to make sure that $4000 goes on the employee card since that spend is specific to the employee card. (But it will also count towards MSR and 4x.)

soooo. math?

150k MSR SUB
15,000: referral to something for P2 which earns you 4x
100,000 SUB if you get 5 employee cards (20k SUB for 4k spend)
spend 4k on 5 employee cards (earning 1 pt + 4x multiplier) in order to hit MSR of both employee cards and the Biz Plat MSR

150,000+15,000+(whatever SUB from that referral)+(5*45,000(employee spend)) = 390,000 MR?

Looking for help with a hotel in San Diego. I'm looking at the Hilton Harbor Island, DoubleTree downtown and the Hampton Liberty Station. Going with my wife and 10 year old. He wants to spend his 10th birthday at the San Diego Zoo, Other than the Zoo, Safari Park and SeaWorld, we really have no plans. We are Hilton Diamond so would theoretically get an upgrade at the Hilton or DoubleTree. Which would you choose and why? The price difference between the three are negligible.
I am no help on hotels because I haven't been to SD lately. But  your DS that he wants to go to SD Zoo for his birthday. That would have been me, but instead I made DH go there for our honeymoon 30+ years ago. I still remember the Zoo and Safari park being spectacular (also helped to have a long lost cousin who was neighbors with the zoo director at the time so we got a special little tour)

ETA I do remember the Hotel del Coronado is beautiful.

Coronado is a little out of the range we want to pay.

In CC news: Just logged in to my AMEX account and had an offer on my Gold card for +3MR on all inside purchases at Kwik Trip or Kwik Star. For those not in WI, MN or IA, think a gas station that also has very good food both ready to eat and to be made and consumed at home. This is almost as good as the grocery offer.

Great suggestion on the NAF Lowe’s card.

So, if I understand it correctly, I only have the $15k MSR targeted Biz plat. I signup for that through the targeted email and generate the support link. P2 uses support link to sign up for no spend/NAF Lowe’s card, which earns me an additional 4pts on the Biz plat I am working towards $15k MSR. So my total MSR is only $15k, right?

@snugglebug, @platamama, @wanderlust7 This is absolutely crazy. I’d love if you can confirm I’m following along correctly!
You got it!

150,000+15,000+(whatever SUB from that referral)+(5*45,000(employee spend)) = 390,000 MR?
If this offer were maxed out, I calculate 380,000MR:
  • 150,000 SUB
  • 15,000 MSR spend
  • 100,000 from spending (4 x $25,000 since +4 is maxed at $25K)
  • 15,000 support
  • 100,000 (5 x 20K per employee card)

Add 10k MR because the max out entails a 25k spend. :) So total 390K MR.

But for 15k MSR, max stacking with no additional spend, total would be 300k MR with 3 employee cards.

I'm only doing one employee though since I only have P2. Some of the strategies for adding employees floated on r/churning are a little beyond my risk tolerance.

So the spend on the employee cards counts towards my MSR AND their “20k MSR?”

Yep! As others said grab at least 1 employee card on your Biz Plat and put 4K of the MSR through that card. You'll have the option of Plat, Gold or Green, the green has no fee. I only did 1 employee, though I probably could have, and still might, get my oldest DS one.

This all seems so tempting. Is there any data on people getting in Amex jail for having 2 of these cards?

You got it!

  • 15,000 support
  • 100,000 (5 x 20K per employee card)

Can you clarify: the employee cards are just essentially authorized users? I'm looking at the email about the Biz Plat and I'm not seeing anything about 4xMR for spending . . .

ETA I found some information about the +4 MRs and now I'm thinking "employee cards" might be cards opened using a support link. Or am I confusing two ways to get bonus points?

They are separate ways of getting bonus points. Yes, the employee cards are the biz cards version of authorized users (but no reporting to one's personal credit report). Once you open your Biz Plat card, you can generate a new support link that is 15K and +4MR on all spend up to $25K. The key part is you need to have someone sign up for an Amex card using your Biz Plat support link to "activate" the +4MR. For example, my DH opened a biz Lowe's card using my Biz Plat link. That activated the +4MR on all spending on my Biz Plat, up to a max of $25K spend. I also made DH an employee card on my Biz Plat, so all spend on that employee card gets +4MR (since it's all still my Biz Plat account). I signed up for that employee card with a separate offer of a bonus of 20K MR for $4K spend (link in my prior post) on adding an employee card. To be clear, the only support link used was the one from my Biz Plat. I hope that all makes sense.

I just saw on FM that you can now see your Hilton FNCs in your account, with the expiration date. Finally! Now I just hope they extend them out further, like Marriott did recently.

ETA: Appears you can only see them in your account if you are currently holding a Hilton Amex card (any flavor).

Hooray, they are there! But oh no, I've got certs I didn't know about expiring on 1/3/22.

Thanks! I have 2 expiring that I guess I will use for PR. Now of only you could book with them online.

Flying SW for the first time tomorrow. We got B22 and 23. It’s just DH and I. Do you think we will be able to sit together. The flight is still for sale so it’s not sold out.

Curious why you selected Lowe’s Biz for your DH? I didn’t think DH had had the Biz Green but apparently he has so I need another card.
