Yay! I had it on my plat. I just used the spend $250.00 get $50.00 on my biz plat (expired a week ago), so I'm excited to get another offer. I will use it when I go to visit dd on November 12th!

How hard are the GCs to redeem? I have been stockpiling Marriott GCs whenever I have a cc promo for our (likely to be cancelled) trip to the Maldives (at the St Regis).

The problem is usually finding an employee who knows how to redeem them or even sell them. Last time I had to call Marriott and then call them again while at the desk to get one added to my account.

The new offer, $50 off $200 is relatively easy. It's what I prefer to deal with. Stay on points and use the offer to pay for incidentals such as dinner.

DH just had the $95 AF hit on his CSP. I have a CSR which I renewed in June. Is there any reason DH should keep his CSP beyond the first year? I am thinking he should just PC it to a Freedom.

Is anyone else here taking advantage of the Kabbage savings account offer for $300 after 5 debit card transactions? If so, do you recall how long it takes after the 5th deposit for the $300 to appear?

I am also thinking of doing this. I didn’t realize it’s a business account. I probably won’t use it too much for my “business” Does that matter ?

I’ve had decent luck lately. Used several partially used Marriott GC at the Swan at Disney recently. Have used them at various properties when traveling, I usually tell them at checkin that I want to prepay the exact amount of the room total, so I don’t have to do it the next morning when checking out. Sometimes they have to ask a fellow worker or manager how to do it.

Why does Chase not like me? I don't have my new CIC. But it also isn't showing in my acct at all. I've had a "business" login w/ Chase for 16 years, so that shouldn't be the issue. I was hoping to at least use "apple pay" on gift cards tonight, but no such luck. GRRR! Also I was approved on Monday last week, but got the email Friday congratulating me on the new card.

Does anyone have an induction cooktop? Is it worth the upgraded price? We have a burner out on our cooktop so I need to replace it and the induction ones are calling my name but are $400 more.
I have one and I love it. I had the regular electric smooth top before we remodeled a few years ago which was a nightmare to keep clean. Everything burned onto it and I had to scrub hard to get it clean. The induction is very easy to clean heats up and cools off super fast. Nothing burns onto it. It’s very shiny and shows dust if I don’t cook for a few days but it’s easy to dust. I did have to buy new pots because my old ones wouldn’t work on it.

Several DPs of late July openings getting the bonus around 10/6. The terms say between 45 to 90 calendar days after account open. So maybe right in the middle of there.

Would love to have one but can't think of replacing my collection of various pots.

I’m honestly not sure but I’m not planning to use it much for my “business” either—although I’m not planning to use it as a personal account either. Opened it for the $300 plus the interest rate. I will be moving some savings into the account but am planning just to leave it there for now.

The year before we remodeled I invested in a really nice Calphalon set. I was so happy to have all nice cookware instead of a few nice ones and the rest ok. I saved the Calpholon set and gave it to my DD as a housewarming present when she moved out in the spring. She was thrilled so I guess it all worked out in the end.

If you are in 2 player, the only sapphire worth having is the reserve long term. My wife and I play the long game since we have pretty much had every card there is to get (many cards multiple times back in the good ole' days when you could churn them every few months), and my wife just got the bonus again on the CSP because her 4 years had lapsed. I keep the CSR- and have had it for many years because it easily pays for itself- but as soon as her year is up we will cancel her CSP and move the credit line to an existing card so her 48 month clock starts again.

The Freedom cards are adding a top spend category to their 4th quarter. It stacks to 9% if PayPal or Walmart is your top category.

As far as I can tell - it is only on the Freedom Flex. Also, I don't think Paypal on its own is a category for top spend purposes in this instance. However, if your top spend category is something you used paypal for, then it would get 9%. Does that make sense? The top spend categories are:-

Travel (including Transit), Dining, Home Improvement Stores, Grocery Stores (not including Target and Walmart purchases), Drugstores, Gas Stations, Select Live Entertainment, Select Streaming Services, Fitness Clubs.

So whichever of those you spend the most on during Q4 will get 4% bonus for a total of 5%. If you happened to also use Paypal on the same category you will get an additional 4% to make 9% overall. $1500 total spend limit for the offer.

Thanks. I edited my post but to be honest the more I read the DOC comments the more confused I get. Lol. I think I’ll wait a bit to figure it out. Maybe it’s too late in the day but the PayPal thing makes zero sense to me.

Yes, confusing indeed. Doesn't help that in the DOC verdict - it states that Paypal will be most peoples top spend category. Hopefully that will be amended. (It now has been)

I have gone through the Chase FAQs and I cannot see that Paypal stands alone as a category for this top spend bonus. As always, I am more than happy to be corrected by those more knowledgable.
