Not sure how many else can use this, but JetBlue Plus has 2x on all purchases not just the usual bonus categories until 6/15. Not that I’m doing a lot of everyday spend right now that isn’t groceries but it’s good to know.

I’m still curious about these travel cards long term. My old plan was moving some CL from CFU to CSP and upgrading the latter to CSR but then T Virus happened. Still not sure about my strategy going forward. My 1 year mark comes up in November so I have until then to wait and see.

I can't remember if anyone said they got credit or not, but I rented When Harry Met Sally just now and used my Plat. I'll let you know if it credits.

And yes, I've never seen it which is why it's one of my movies from the 80's I'm watching this year. Sadly, I forgot to write down the movies I watched for a few weeks and can't remember what I watched one of them, which really says something about the movie. Hopefully I'll eventually remember. I searched through this thread and my texts and stuff and couldn't find it and my mom couldn't remember so clearly it was a fantastic movie :rotfl2:

Now I’m hearing the SWAT team has been to the house next door. Maybe it’s not true. If it is I’m not sure if that’s good because it means the police have their eyes on the house or bed because wh

One of my all time favorites. I can watch it monthly and still think it's hysterical.

We had friends in Chicago who named their Bichons Harry and Sally.

Does anyone know if you buy the e-gift card from bonvoy are you able to use it to pay for food in the restaurant? What are you able to use it on. I know not a prepaid room. What other exclusions are there.

nevermind. I found my answers. I can use the brilliant credit for take out and food through June-August.

What use year is your BCV contract? Our preferred travel month are October, November and May.
Trying to find the perfect UY.

Our BCV use year is April. It has worked for most of our vacations. The only time that I really had to pause before booking was the year that our Spring Break started in March. I had to borrow points for the first night or two. With a May or April use year, if you had to cancel your November booking you still will have time to bank those points. Good luck!!

If I want to eventually churn my Southwest card should I wait to cancel until the AF hits? Or should I cancel now? I’ve had the card since 2012 and the AF hits in August. I will not apply for the new card until Fall at the earliest. So cancel now, or wait until AF hits? Will I get the annual points bonus if I wait?

You can cancel now but I have always waited until the RR points post to my account....you just need to make sure you cancel within 30 days of the annual fee posting

When Harry Met Sally has been a fave here since the 80s. Guess I'm dating myself now - yes, I was old enough to see it when it was new.

We are going through a Wes Anderson movie festival here at home. Moonrise Kingdom and the Grand Budapest Hotel were the first two. Fantastic Mr. Fox is up next I think.

If you're not interested in applying now I'd wait and collect your anniversary points. You should be able to see when they posted last year to give you an idea of when to cancel this year. You have 30 days from AF posting to cancel and get full refund and once your anniversary points post to your RR account there's no take back. (Afterall, you kept it open past your anniversary date.)

I'd been wondering about this too. Thanks,

I just did chat with Amex and I have until Aug 3 to meet the spend on my new surpass so just the 90 days since I was approved on May 4. It did pop up in the chat that I may be eligible for longer but I didn't ask about that, it's only $2k so it won't be an issue. But I had thought it'd be longer but at the same time by now they know we all know what's going on and that we shouldn't be expecting longer, at least imo.

I was 10 when it came out and had already seen Good Morning Vietnam by that point but I don't know that I would have enjoyed it at that age. It was good, better than most 80's movies I've seen this year, but I'm not in a hurry to watch it again. I would but not sure I'd seek it out.

Everyone I knew loved it way back when. We watched it about a year ago and I don't think it's held up well over time. Interesting how some things do and some don't.

Thank you! I will wait!

They did an awful job of making Billy Crystal look young because he didn't at all. I didn't think it doesn't hold up but a movie like that today would be so different because of email, cell phones and social media. Plus who'd drive to NYC?

I still think Weird AL's UHF is my favorite so far this year. A lot didn't live up to the hype or wasn't what I expected. Like I thought Spinal Tap would be better, same with Risky Business.

9 to 5 was fun but not at all what I was expecting, similar with Working Girl. Moonstruck and The Color Purple were good and Twins was way different from what I'd thought. Roadhouse was interesting. Tron and Desperately Seeking Susan were let downs and we won't talk about Arthur, Terminator, The Big Easy or Big Top Pee-Wee (I liked his show and I try and spread the movie types around). There's some others but they were more middle of the road.

You should still have the additional 3 months, AmEx is still advertising it on the card pages. I'd guess it's like the Chase trackers that don't update, the CSRs have the usual system info that calculates 90 days but really you're part of the covid-19 extension. (Or you got an uninformed chat rep that just makes it up as they go, had one of those before)

And while the pandemic isn't new at this point, people are still a little gunshy about committing to spending so much money in a short time frame. Knowing you have extra time may entice people to get the card anyway and keep spend flowing through AmEx versus a competitor. Which is why I think they had advertised a set date in the future when they announced.
