We are getting to stay at BWV for the first time in July (if all goes well...). I got 3 nights there and I'm so excited!!! Although we are terrified of the clown pool...or I am...think I am the only one in my family who has read 'IT'. I'm still excited to get to check it out though!
We don’t usually sit by the clown pool. We go to the quiet pool. Love it there!

We bought BCV site unseen 14 years ago and have never regretted it! Would love to be walking through the door right now.
We bought AKV site unseen 12 years ago, we really wanted to buy BCV but our guide told us we couldn’t. We didn’t know enough or feel comfortable enough about resale st that time to try that route. It’s worked out fine for the most part and 5 years later we added on at BWV. We have stayed at AKV 3 times, most trips with our AKV points we switch to a different resort at the 7 month window. Still would love to buy a BCV contract too!

I may be booking an IHG stay for May 2021 soon. I would like to use points. Does anyone know their refund policy on refundable rooms when using IHG points? What about when booking through the URL portal?

You'll see the cancellation policy before you finalize the booking with points. It will be the same policy (or very similar) to the cancellation policy in place for regular non point reservations. I've booked many rooms with IHG points and cancellation process has always been flawless with the points instantly being deposited back into my IHG account.

OK... I may be finally ready to give this a try.... how exactly does the doordash credit work with the CSR? is it automatically removed ($60) after ordering? And if the order is less than that, I can use it till I hit $60 right?

Yep, it automatically triggers, and you can use it until you hit $60 in as many transactions as that takes.

We did pay direct last July for the smallest contract we could but I wanted the DVC pricing for AP's. We saved $2400 on AP's this year. And that will just continue for as long as we get that benefit. But from here on out, we will buy resale as well.
That makes sense for your family, we are only a family of 4 and it would take years to justify the savings. I think the minimum now is 100pts to get the direct sale benefits.

If things go back to normal with Chase Biz Cards it might be worth it to open up new cards and pay direct prices too, but at this point we are looking at resale.

My thought is that we get a small 80 pt resale and later add direct to get the same use year.

As others have said deposit only, however Mason Title allows the largest deposit at $2500 and no CC fees, to boot. Plus, they're the best of the 3 title companies we've dealt with, so I'd recommend requesting them as your agent.
Thank you for this tip! Saving this post for when we are ready!

This has been my experience also, @trenty. I never have trouble getting my points back when I need to cancel a points booking with IHG. I just make sure to cancel before the date shown in the terms when you book.

Have any of you asked for the refund on your AP? Dh and I are going to but keep putting it off because neither of us wants to call. Should we just get it done?

What use year is your BCV contract? Our preferred travel month are October, November and May.
Trying to find the perfect UY.

Your best option to avoid losing points is to not have your normal travel in the last 4 months of your use year so you can still bank if you need to cancel. For May, Oct, and Nov travel, April or Oct use years are probably best, with March and Sept as possibilities. March would be more iffy for Nov travel, but figure you have to cancel at least 31 days before your trip or points go into holding anyway. Same for Sept with May travel.

Our big trip is usually in Oct or Nov and our BWV contract is Oct use year. The only thing with that is if we need to walk to get standard view, we don’t have much time to start the walk. This would not be an issue at BCV. We also throw in a week usually in the spring, so our second contract we bought AKV which is March use year.

Not suggesting anyone get multiple use years on purpose. Just happened that when we were looking for 100-125 points at AKV, no contracts were coming up with Oct use years and one came along that was loaded for March. And we plan to use the contracts independently (and for home resort use almost exclusively) so not really worried about combining points at 7 months.

Just for clarity, that’s not self support. From what I know it’s ALL support on CIPs. It stopped over a month ago and no clicks since April 1st have gone pending. Unsure if it’s a delay or truly dead.

Somehow I missed seeing this before. I guess I'll stop checking for the points then until I see posts about people getting them. Oh well.

I called and inquired about it a few weeks back. I had a couple of questions and everything needed a supervisor to answer. (It really didn't, so it makes me wonder if the CSR'S are receiving a lot of angry calls? I wasn't in any way rude or angry, just asking questions.)

The refund is only for the number of days the parks are closed, not for the remaining time on the pass. Also, I was told since I paid with a gc I would receive a check in the mail for the refund, not put back on a gift card.

As I recall it was probably a 15 minute wait initially for someone to answer and then being transferred to a supervisor took another 10 minutes. I am pretty sure it was close to 30 minutes of my time.

Just applied DH for CIC- immediate denial

His entire biz card history:
12/19-CIP Sole Proprietor
We have put some continued spend on this card as well. Will wait for denial letter and see if it’s worth a recon.

Next plan is to apply myself for a CSP using DH support link if it’s still available. My last card was CIP 3/20. I’ll wait until July. Sadly that will be about the end of UR’s for us, as far as I can tell

30 minutes isn’t too bad. I’m thinking we should wait because ours end at the end of June and they haven’t officially announced they’ll be closed then right? I’m not sure if they would refund all the way until then or not
