I was hopeful but the stimulus does prorate the kids payments.
We both are WFH and the big boys do full school from home with zoom all day. Their school requires them to have the uniform shirt but no ties (thank God!). My husband and I change and put on real clothes not only because of work Zoom calls but because we are 8 people here and have to be "decent". This translates to ALL DAY. I love WFH, I'm actually working alot and my boss has been great about keeping everyone accountable but not overbearing so we can still enjoy our days. I want to continue this as long as possible and when people start going in to the office, I'm going to request to stay WFH due to my dad until we see how things stabilize with reopening.

On topic, I sent Barclay a SM on their website asking to close my biz card. I got the "we got the message" email and then I got a "you have a response" email. Barclay being Barclay, of course there was no message in my account just a banner AFTER I login "Access to your account has been restricted". I'm going to take this as a win in the Barclays website sweepstakes and assume it is now closed. Will check for a little bit to make sure they don't charge me the annual fee.

That's what happened with me when I canceled Barclays Aviator card last year too. What a gem of a company lol.

Give it a few years. . After this I worry about retirement. DH is still working but going bonkers from being at home. I am pretty sure my dreams of his early retirement are out the window. I can’t say I’ve gotten sick of him. But I’m not sure he can say the same. Lol Of course we also have 3 young adults in the house. Sometimes it is great. And most of the time it is not. lol We all want our space. And I mostly just want a clean kitchen.

After the first week or two, I started to think about how I wasn't going to be able to tolerate retirement togetherness! I think it was all the initial stress combined with also being together in a hotel room for a week prior to quarantine. We've settled in now. He spends some time in his office with very little to do. I've had about 3 hours a week of work. Otherwise, I've been sewing masks. (Another business perhaps!)

I did this a couple weeks ago, same results. You Have a Response! Um, no I don't. Account restricted. My fee had already been charged, after a week it was reversed, so my balance is zero. Going to just assume it's closed then.

You all know I always work from home, workout pants, t's and sweatshirts LOL, and I don't care if I have a video call. But my camera isn't working anyway. I am so busy though, I am not seeing my family (thank goodness my kid is an adult) and doing no fun projects. 57 hours last week, and I was at 29 hours before I clocked in this morning.
My kids both got their $1200 today. So glad, was worried that dd might not get it. Lord knows when I will ever see mine, haven't gotten a refund in years. And their website just tells me they cannot determine our eligibility. GRRRR. I know we qualify with 18 income (and 19, which we haven't filed yet).

I don't think so. I read something that said "no clawbacks". I was looking to verify if 2020 income surpasses the limit for a single. It will not be taxed and there are no clawbacks.

I sleep during the day and get hot very easily while sleeping, so just a sheet (no blanket). Apparently today mu husband (WFH) decided to turn on the a/c and not tell me, so I froze!

He was up all night last night trying to fix a problem that refused to be fixed. He laid down shortly before I did (probably around 0645) and was asleep before I got out of the shower. He said he slept till noonish and then dealt with daytime work and then tried to fix last night's problem again tonight after close of business. He has been wearing a "work" shirt (like just a plain button down) and jeans. Haven't seen him on any video calls but he is on the phone a LOT.

I have now taken part in two meetings remotely (one using Skype and one using Microsoft Teams) and chose to have the camera off for both. Considering they happen right after my normal wake up time, it's a good thing! Grateful my boss only requires me to be heard and not seen.

So is the MSR period automatically extended on Chase cards, or do I still have to SM to have it applied? My "tracker" still shows 5/22 as my goal date. And although I feel like I'm making (online) purchase left and right, I think I am really missing the hotel stays I'd normally have, even if they're small! This is so weird.
ETA: I just got the email from Chase about them automatically extending the MSR period.

Oh yeah, missed a couple of comments in my last post LOL.
DH CIP has no tracker for some reason, but he also got this email today.

And the weather, yuck. We have had snow off an on since Sunday. Doesn't amount to very much, but still. And yesterday we had a record Low, High temp of a whopping 30 degrees. The average low is 37. Mother nature is crabby too.

We currently have 19 degrees and sunny. It will get up to the 30’s today but back into the teens during the night. We still put a fire in the stove a couple times a day. We have had a few warm days recently, so only small patches of snow left .

Ugh, so far looking at JAL flights to Tokyo for next year, it looks like there's no longer a nonstop from JFK to HND, so now it's like 20 hours of travel time instead of 14. They're all looking like they connect in SFO now. I can still book first for 80k miles out of my home airport, but would have to connect once before getting to SFO. But it's like, if I'm already having to fly to JFK anyways to catch that flight, and then connect again in SFO regardless, I may as well just fly out of my home airport.

I'll be interested to see what the flights look like for April when they open up since that's when I'd like to go.

ETA: I remembered after posting this that I could check British Airways to see April availability. They are showing nonstop flights for April from JFK to HND, but it says the first class cabin isn't operated on that flight. Not that there's no availability, because there are some options that say that, but that they're straight up not using it. Anyone know why that would be?

Amex Bonvoy Biz - Called 4/14. Nothing. If it was a useful card I would have tried again but I don’t really care. Closed the account as the 35K free night is useless after recent devaluations. Got AF refunded. (I never call Amex before it posts)

Citibank AA Platinum Biz - Called 4/15. Was offered $99 statement credit after $99 purchase, which effectively cancels out the AF. Had a charge on this account that I will potentially need to dispute, so kept the card.

No wait time to speak to a rep on either call. I am probably calling at odd hours, though.

I still have 5 years until retirement. DH is retired but works seasonally part time. through all this, I realized I would go crazy at home every day. Once I retire, I’ll find a volunteer gig or something part time to fill the days. Not every day and not early get out of bed things
I sewed masks for just us. I do want to get into quilting. I think I’ll have time for that when I retire. I think I’d like donating or selling the items from my hobbies (crocheting, knitting). After all that is what Biz cards are for - inventory!

It might only be a two cabin plane in which case the front cabin might only be business class. Think about most US domestic owned and operated flights. What they call first class in a two cabin plane is really a mediocre version of what non US airlines call business class. Check the plane and seat configuration on Seat Guru and that will tell you if this is the case.

*ETA* We have flown JAL business on one of their two cabin planes and would do that again in a heartbeat. It was lie flat and super comfortable.

I got my CIP email today for the extension. DH, who got his CIP 4/1, did not. Not sure there is much difference in being able to make MSR from 3/31 cards and 4/1! Property taxes are coming up and it is earmarked for that anyway.
