Nothing for me yet. We use a small credit union and I feel like they are wondering why I have logged in a bazillion times in the last few days. I’m sure they don’t really keep track of that. I hope. Lol We are also looking for DDs room and board refund.

We received our stimulus payment today too. We are going to buy a dishwasher - once it can be delivered and installed - our died last week. But besides that we are going to put it in savings. At the moment DH and I are still receiving our full paychecks but I don't know how long that will last, I know my employer is talking furlough days but we won't know details until they present the budget to City Council next week.

Apparently they’re still kind of in winter lol. My mom said it was like 30 this morning and they just recently had snow and sleet. That’s too cold for April. Meanwhile we’re down here with above 100 (heat index) which is too hot.
We had snow today. 😢 Brrr.

We currently have 19 degrees and sunny. It will get up to the 30’s today but back into the teens during the night. We still put a fire in the stove a couple times a day. We have had a few warm days recently, so only small patches of snow left 😀.

My stimulus payment is in my account today. It’s really just going to stimulate my savings account, as I’m sure a lot of others will be doing.

That looks cool! We don’t have tv so we might have to find another way to watch it
We are going to watch on the app with my parents’ cable login. Maybe you can borrow one from someone!

My dh actually gets dressed from the waist up in biz clothes and then wears workout pants. He works all day, rarely takes a break and keeps an 8-5 schedule. He's always been a very 'by the book' guy and so he works at home just like he would work if he were at his office. He has just now, after 3 weeks, begun 'showing up' about 15-20 mins later lol. My dh is still very busy as well. There is plenty going on for him.
Today my DH wore a blazer, shirt & Mickey pajama pants  He is in video meetings almost all day. He doesn’t see the point in wrinkling work pants but would rather die than look unprofessional on camera, so that’s his compromise with himself.

I only have one video meeting a day, if that. I usually just change for it & then go back to what I was wearing before. I do have movie nights with work (related to what we do... not just randomly) & I don’t wear anything special for those.

Checked one more time and money is there. We didn’t do this years taxes yet and DS should have aged out. But we got the extra $500 for him. Feel slightly bad.

If you don't claim him this year you might owe it back?

I'm expecting so I'll be eligible for the 500 next year since he's being born into this soon.

To any Chase card holders: got an email this morning that the IHG Premier card I got back in February had the bonus offer extended to 6 months. The email states cards opened between 1/1-3/31 will be automatically extended. I already met the MSR on this card so it's not helpful to me. But as I posted yesterday, we do have the CIP extended. We did NOT get an email about that. Not sure if biz cards are being automatically extended or not. May want to SM on those....

My stimulus money is also going to my savings account :confused3 My job is secure, and DH's job should be secure, but you never know. As long as we make it out of this ok, I am planning to do some stuff around the house like have the house painted and build a nice screened in porch. We will hire local companies to do that, so that will be my contribution to stimulating the economy when the time comes.

Oh yes. The savings is ear marked. All new tile throughout. No more 1960s! Maybe new concrete patio the old one is being cracked by the live oak.

Not hopeful it won't go to bills. I joked we can vacation in the back yard.

So the website to check on the stimulus payment is up, at least partially. I got through enough to have them say we are eligible but they claim not to have my bank acct info. When I went through the steps to add my bank info, it says the numbers I entered from our 2019 return don't match their records. Our return was accepted on 3/14, so I used 2019 numbers. It asks if we got a refund or owed. I clicked refund because we did not owe, but I had the credit applied to my 2020 estimated taxes. Maybe I should have put in zero for the refunded amount (I put in the overpayment amount). I have to wait until tomorrow to try again apparently.

It's funny because I keep hearing people say how they are "working from home" but that really means doing fix it jobs in the house and some gardening, but my DH is working a ton and has no time to even consider doing that. Or at least that's what he claims. :rotfl: In all seriousness, though, I hope things calm down for you and everyone else who is working more right now. I can't complain since at least he is getting paid and I know not everyone is in the same situation.

Sigh. I am WFH but have not gotten a single project done. I am the site Lab Manager so I do have to run in and make sure my lab users have the PPE they need but most of my work I can do from home. However this hit right at a critical system test so here I am working at my kitchen island with three laptops running so I can be connected to all the various networks to ensure this test goes smoothly from the backend. The testers have been working shifts but that means I need to be around during both shifts to resolve any problems, so its been some very long days. I have now gotten to the point I forcefully tell people I will be back as I need to walk around a min or have a meal. Was starting to get some back issues working solid though to get things done.

This is all true... all very true. I at least get a chance to see my children now each day for a few hours... As Sarah on CoP would say: "That's Progress Dear".

DD7 has been at Grandma's for almost six weeks now. I miss her so much this has been the longest we've ever been apart. We face time each day so get to see her at least. Grandma has many acres, horses, 'her' pony and a dog.. We can't compete she's having a blast.

Great to hear, I have not finished my taxes yet, We owe and I just have not had any free time so pushing it off. I was going to ask if anyone got one that had not filed yet or if it was just the early filers still.

It’s actually ideal for the cold because then you can escape to the warmth for a couple of weeks. I love that DS has a 2-2 1/2 week winter break. This past year was the DR and FL. This year is supposed to be HI.
Yes. We live in the Midwest and started “balanced calendar“ 12 years ago. I love it. Our summers are shorter, but the big October break, full two weeks at Christmas, and two week March break make up for it. Before it became a popular schedule, October was so nice to travel. Great deals and low crowds. Now that lots of other school districts have an October break, that perk isn’t quite as special.

Our SW bonus points posted from the 12/1-2/28 offer today
I'm seeing other reports of this as well.

Mine did not post - I cancelled my SW personal card back in February to get my new SW card... I wonder if somehow this promotion was tied in through that, especially because of how it's posting (the wording). That would stink if I missed out on 22k RR points BUT I think I made out better with the move I chose if that ends up being the case, lol!

Ugh, so far looking at JAL flights to Tokyo for next year, it looks like there's no longer a nonstop from JFK to HND, so now it's like 20 hours of travel time instead of 14. They're all looking like they connect in SFO now. I can still book first for 80k miles out of my home airport, but would have to connect once before getting to SFO. But it's like, if I'm already having to fly to JFK anyways to catch that flight, and then connect again in SFO regardless, I may as well just fly out of my home airport.

I'll be interested to see what the flights look like for April when they open up since that's when I'd like to go.

ETA: I remembered after posting this that I could check British Airways to see April availability. They are showing nonstop flights for April from JFK to HND, but it says the first class cabin isn't operated on that flight. Not that there's no availability, because there are some options that say that, but that they're straight up not using it. Anyone know why that would be?

I was hopeful but the stimulus does prorate the kids payments.
We both are WFH and the big boys do full school from home with zoom all day. Their school requires them to have the uniform shirt but no ties (thank God!). My husband and I change and put on real clothes not only because of work Zoom calls but because we are 8 people here and have to be "decent". This translates to :laundy: ALL DAY. I love WFH, I'm actually working alot and my boss has been great about keeping everyone accountable but not overbearing so we can still enjoy our days. I want to continue this as long as possible and when people start going in to the office, I'm going to request to stay WFH due to my dad until we see how things stabilize with reopening.

On topic, I sent Barclay a SM on their website asking to close my biz card. I got the "we got the message" email and then I got a "you have a response" email. Barclay being Barclay, of course there was no message in my account just a banner AFTER I login "Access to your account has been restricted". I'm going to take this as a win in the Barclays website sweepstakes and assume it is now closed. Will check for a little bit to make sure they don't charge me the annual fee.
