I have a cardiologist appointment next week for an annual EKG and blood work just for med refill. Something that could easily wait a few months. I am waiting to see if they call me. The office is in a hospital building.
I have an endocrinologist appt next week. He is in an office bldg attached to a hospital also. I have already done the blood work, he has the results, I'm thinking I don't really need to go in. I see him every 6 months so it should be able to wait until Sept. Plus I save the $35 copay and parking fee.

I got asked 3 questions over the phone: Have I been around anyone with symptoms? Have I had shortness of breath, a fever, or cough? Have I been out of the country recently?

She said they will ask me the same questions when I come in tomorrow. This made me nervous so that's why I called back and asked if they could just tell me the results over the phone. The doctor wasn't in so he's supposed to call tomorrow morning to let me know if I have to come in or not. I'm tempted to send Dh if he says I need to come in. I just honestly don't want to leave the house at all.

Today, my throat started feeling very dry and I can feel it down into my chest. I haven't been coughing at all so I'm not sure what it is. It's possible it's just allergies or even heart burn, but every little symptom makes me nervous now.

Not cc related, but it seems like it’s ok for us to post this kind of stuff during these extraordinary days.

NYC mayor will make a decision within 48 hours regarding putting the city in lockdown, akin to San Francisco. I have a gut feeling this is going to happen, and that my state, which made an agreement just the other day with NY and NJ about gyms, theaters, and restaurants, will shortly follow suit. I’ve been staying in anyhow, with the exception of going to the track to walk everyday ( and the track is pretty much empty), but this will be difficult. Necessary, perhaps, but still difficult.

And my son called me, very worried that I am not running home immediately. My son in law is wanting to leave on Thursday to take care of a job he's dealing with (contractor work). So, I will probably also leave Thursday. That makes me sad, but common sense has to rule. Much safer to go up the road somewhat together, we are driving two cars, then for me to stay back.

So I'll enjoy my last day here tomorrow. Tried to reassure my son that we are just as safe here as we are at home, but he's a little shook so not buying it.

Is everyone already pulling the plug on their April trips? I know I should...having a hard time doing it tho. Room booked via portal on points-easy cancel- flights on swa-easy cancel- tix thru portal...not sure about how to fix those yet.... I thought April 11 would be ok, but I don't think so anymore....at least as far as travel goes. It's a tough one,bc I have a sick feeling it'll all be open for business by then (maybe I'm nuts) and then I'm going to be struggling with FOMO bc I can see it (online, virtually) but I can't go bc I canceled...... I feel like I need to make a firm decision.
My trip To WDW is booked for April 16-26. I know it’s not going to happen, but I’ve been planning it for two years so it’s really hard to pull the trigger on cancelling. My travel agent told me I now don’t have to pay in full until 7 days before and can cancel 1 day before and still get a full refund. So I’m waiting and hoping for a miracle.

Sad you have to leave early, but that’s so sweet of your son......mine is in Orlando worried about his 60 ish parents...while my daughter went away with her DH for a long weekend...then saw us the day she got back...my son was upset with her....everything seems so surreal right now...just praying for everyone

My thought about cash....
if you want some around, put it in a zip lock and let the virus die🤣. Keep in mind the bacteria will still be there.

I remembered @gottalovepluto 's post while buying a scone at Signe's Bakery today. I paid with a five that has been in my purse for months. It was 3.54. She started to hand me back my change and I nodded at the tip jar. She was wearing gloves as she bagged my scone, and the same gloves as she took my money. Who knows where that change came from?

Later I ate the scone and gave it no thought.

I lay around thinking too often when I should be sleeping. Last night I took my mind through all the times I could have infected myself as I went through the day. Yes, I was using the Purell, but that doesn't mean I did all the right things. By the time I get home, I'll be ready for seclusion. My mind is dwelling on what I may be touching, even when shopping, who may have picked up this jar of spaghetti sauce and put it back down. The opportunities are endless.

Man. Here's another I have to share. This is just exploding and so fast. Please, please, please stay home as much as you can! :scared:

:sad2:My boss changed her mind in less than 10 hours yesterday about working from home. At first we were coming in until the city or building said we couldn't anymore. No big deal and I was happy to do it - we're a small office and I don't have to take public transit to work. Then she went home, watched the news, and texted me at 9:30 last night to say we should remote in after today and move all in-person meetings to phone conferences. I'm still going in tomorrow and it'll be just me and one other person - someone has to manage the mail and pay bills that come in and send letters to clients. I also have to gather whatever files and notes I need to try and convert my hobby room into a home office. My goal is to be able to do 90% of my job from home by the end of the week and then be able to minimize time at the office. One day at a time.

Now I'm just nervous we're going to be swamped with people wanting to update all their planning at once and we will have to say no to scared people or put ourselves at risk to conduct signings. Or worse, we'll be hit with a bunch of new probates to handle, and the courts won't be open yet :(

And my CIU app is still at 30 days. I've only checked once since I applied Saturday night!

So, I should go to sleep soon, but meanwhile I'll share this guy with you that I met today on the pier:

481762481763

He didn't even consider flying off. There were a few vacationers fishing and he was ready to help if they were to catch any fish.

I am sure they are. Hopefully you will be able to go on your trio and use them. Maybe it’s not even worth asking at this point. You can always call later if needed.
I will play it by ear. The current communication says due to capacity demands banking/borrowing exceptions aren't being made. I think I pieced something decent together. I refuse to book flights right now because September prices are insane considering everything going on. I fear my replacement trip may be ruined due to a hurricane and I would have to plead with DVC to do something at that point. All of my 2018 points were banked because I purchased right before my UY started and got 2018 points. I didn't pay dues on them, but losing an entire UY I could have rented or thrown at some other random trip would be a little upsetting. If it comes to it, I would ask for an exception if possible. Hopefully things normalize and no natural disaster ruins my new plans!

Let's not forget the WHO warning it's possible covid-19 can be passed around via currency as it survives on surfaces... really leaves one thinking- where has this cash been? what did I touch with it?... cash is always dirty but now...
YES! I recently had this discussion with my grandma when she was adamant about having cash. She prefers it over her CC and always uses it. I tried to explain that if someone sick was at the pharmacy, paid cash, and then you got change, you did not get sanitized money. With social distancing and delivery services not meeting in person, you need to use your CCs!

One of the grocery chains here in the northeast, Stop and Shop, announced that beginning on Thursday, they will be open from 6 am to 7:30 exclusively for shoppers 60 and over. I hope this idea catches on elsewhere.
I have a local Stop & Shop and I also heard it will limited to 50 people at once and there will be a dedicated entrance.

In another round of bad timing, Chase did launch the new United Club card today. 100k introductory bonus for 5k in spend, $525 AF not waived.

I'm seeing mixed message on if it's a new card or not. On the landing page it says "This product is available to you if you do not have any United Club card and have not received a new Cardmember bonus for any United Club card in the past 24 months."
Bold mine, but that would follow with the leaked terms DoC has listed.

But if you open the actual offer details it reads "this card" rather than "any card". So unclear if you have to wait 24 months after getting the Visa Signature version bonus like we thought.
"100,000 Bonus Miles: This product is not available to either (i) current Cardmembers of this credit card, or (ii) previous Cardmembers of this credit card who received a new Cardmember bonus for this credit card within the last 24 months. "

Also interesting as I don't recall seeing this language on Chase cards before:
"If your account is not open for at least six months, United and Chase reserve the right to deduct the bonus miles from your MileagePlus Program account."

DoCs post to compare for yourselves:

Thanks for sharing! I wanted that Explorer card before the current enhanced bonus ends, but now I don't know if I even need it. I have some time to think about future travel and if the card will still be beneficial.
