I've been trying to hold out hope for our 4/9-4/18 WDW trip and still haven't cancelled, but at this point I just don't see it happening. So tonight I'll be sitting down with family to decide if there are other dates that might work for all of us. We have 5 rooms booked for a total of 15 people for this trip and I really worked hard to plan this one, as we had some first timers and we were taking along our niece and nephew who haven't been in over 10 years. My nephew just signed up with the Army so it's not likely he will be able to come with us for any dates we'd pick.

I'll try to hold out as long as we can, but I also want to have a backup plan in place so I can take care of moving us as quickly as possible - hoping I can find something that will work for all of us.
It's been an absolute whirlwind for my biz lately working on moving clients trips and cruises. Still working on finalizing a few more March clients, then it's on to April. Right now it feels like there's no end in sight, so having to figure out my own April trip right now is like a kick in the gut. I have trips booked in June, July and September already. Really hoping we don't have to make any changes to those. Just have to wait and see.
Schools here in Louisiana have been closed for 4 weeks beginning Monday 4/16 by order of the governor. The state also said they will not be extending the school year to make-up work. The last day of school here is 5/25. Our area schools were already scheduled to have spring break 4/10 - 4/17 so they originally told us our kids would return on 4/20 meaning they are out for a full 5 weeks. Now there is talk of our parish school board having a meeting to grant our superintendent the authority to go against state guidelines and have the kids make-up what they miss by extending the school year. I imagine this will cause quite an uproar in the area as folks will no doubt have strong feelings on both sides of this issue. Not looking forward to this announcement.
They have already closed restauarants (only drive-thru and curbside pickup allowed), bars, gyms, parks, movie theaters, etc. here. As of today, churches have also cancelled services including all weddings, funerals, etc for the next 30 days and dentist offices have been ordered to close except for emergency procedures for the next 30 days. Strange thing is, at my office it's business as usual. No one seems to be concerned much, besides me. I feel like we should be thinking about our options to work from home, but there is zero talk about it thus far. The girl in the office next to mine was out sick all last week. She saw a doctor who tested her for flu and it came back negative so he told her she had a "severe respiratory infection," gave her meds and sent her home. Our manager contacted her a few times throughout the week. She said she continued to feel worse - horrible cough, fever, shortness of breath....all the signs. Low and behold, she shows up Monday morning, still coughing but looking as if she "feels" better. I asked my manager if she had seen a doctor for a follow-up and she said it was no problem since she was no longer running fever and felt better. Ummm, why am I the only person questioning this?? The president of our company is in his 70s, has underlying health conditions, and has been experiencing shortness of breath recently. I swear, I feel like I'm a crazy person - or at least that's how everyone at this office is looking at me. They all just think everything is all good and there's nothing to worry about. Sorry for the rambling, guess I just needed to get that out...LOL.
