Maybe its time to experiment with a bread maker. That can be kinda fun. I have one that I never use, but I might pull it out now. Probably cheaper and better for you to make your own anyway.
I've never used one, but I had an aunt who always made her own with a bread maker. She used it to save time overall but pulled the dough out and baked it in the oven instead as she thought it was better that way. I've always been curious to try that. I used to make a lot of bread in college when I had more time.

Very sad this morning - our son is at university in the UK and was due to come home for 3 weeks at the end of the month. We have pretty much accepted that isn't going to happen now. Its funny, we have always said that him being overseas in the UK is no worse than him being on the west coast in terms of travel time (We live in MA) - but right now, the UK seems soooooooooo far away.

In other news, just reluctantly downgraded DW Hilton Aspire. We were going to use our free night and $250 resort credit next month, but those plans have been cancelled along with our cruise. :sad1: I don't see much hope for us getting value out of the Aspire over the next 12 months so made sense to downgrade at this time.

On the plus side (I guess) - received almost 200,000 Jetblue points back for our now canceled spring break flights...........and, DW met MSR on her citi prestige this week.

you better look very soon because stuff is flying off the website since so many canceled for the next few weeks.
My DH want's to book a cruise on DCL in May because there are some great deals for him right now. I don't know how we're ever going to get through to do that. I would love to move my 7-night Baltic cruise in August up a week to the 8 night because its discounted. That would also require calling DCL and AA to change things...yikes. I booked my WDW trip through Costco which is something I never do, but they had some great deals at the Swalphin. Hopefully, I don't need to make any changes to that because I hear Costco travel is a mess right now.

I knew I wanted to make these changes a couple of weeks ago, and I could kick myself for being lazy and not doing it. I've got until April 15 to move the cruise. I'm hoping the phone lines calm down in a couple of weeks.

Yay! I should have looked lol I think I'll have to call in though with the CPs, not too big of a deal.

Unfortunately, I can't do anything until I hear from the boy. As of last night he didn't know anything (why do I know it all before him?!), maybe he gets approval to go ahead and travel and I don't have to do anything. You know how the military is, hurry up and wait. I working between a very full softball schedule and the Army. Neither makes it easy.
When is your trip currently scheduled? The current DoD travel restrictions (which will prevent him from being able to take leave outside of his local area and go into effect on the 16th) are through May 11th. So, hopefully your trip is at the end of May and they don’t extend the travel restrictions. I have memorial weekend trip booked, so I am in the same boat as well. Thought I only had to worry about whether DW would be open, but then the DoD threw this curve ball last night. As a Soldier, I’m used tot he Army screwing up my plans all the time, but it never gets any easier to deal with the occasional curve balls.

Yup. Same here now. It was ‘no more shaking hands or hugging but no plans to cancel’ one day and ‘everything is cancelled’ the next day!
Our Church is still on for tomorrow. 😊 My wife’s actually there now at the church attending a baby shower. We can still social distance since there’s only around 50 of us there 🤣

Our DD20 is at Uni in the UK, too (Durham). We were just with her on Thursday in London. She went back to school and we flew home. We thought we'd see her at the end of the month when she came home for a few weeks of her Spring Break. Instead she woke us up yesterday to say that Durham was telling students to go home and take/pack up their things as they aren't sure whether they will be coming back! I quickly got her a flight on Monday so she could finish a paper and pack her stuff up. Such a bummer. She's graduating in July and I have no idea how everything is going to work aside from the fact that she could end up missing her last term. She only has her dissertation and a couple papers left so hopefully it doesn't derail graduation or her offer to Oxford for her masters! What is your son's Uni telling him? We were very surprised at how quickly everything changed. When I first talked to her about COVID a couple weeks ago she told me everyone in the news was overreacting. Typical 20 year old reaction. Her attitude didn't last long. She very much gets it now.

Went to check my church back home as I was curious. They started live streaming on fb almost a year ago. They are continuing that and recording and posting on the website. They dont mention passing the peace but I cant imagine that is continued. Ushers must wear gloves while handing out bulletins. Offering plates will be on a table instead of passed around. Everyone helping with communion must use gloves and sanitizer. They will dip your water in wine and hand it to you, do not touch their gloves. No more kneeling at the rail like they still do in the traditional service. This week at least they are still having services.

I disnt have my tiny sanitizer in my quart bag and may have not had my sunblock in it on the way home either :rolleyes1 I didn't use as much as I'd thought and didn't want to throw that much away. My quart bag as so full I had to have mom help me close it. My friend left early morning back to DC so I was on my own. Figured I'd play dumb if they found it but I legit dis it on accident after a day at AK when I forgot to toss it ans had no issue so I figured why not.

Thank you! I have up looking a couple years ago and they sure don't advertise it.

ETA ugh no link, it has to be email. Why does bofa hate people so much?

My son is at Lancaster - they just canceled classes next week, and then they have spring break so not due back until mid April. Whilst he could come back - we are worried that this is a fast moving situation and that he may not be able to fly back to the UK when he needs to (or he might have to go into quarantine or something) - the uni has already told students from China and parts of europe that if they go home for spring break they will be required to self quarantine when they get back - so on balance we decided it is probably best for him to stay there. We have family in the UK so he has somewhere to go.

BTW, love Durham. I graduated from Newcastle and spent many weekends in Durham. Happy times!!

We love Newcastle! Such a fun city. She has had such a great experience at Durham. We are so bummed for her. Durham took a different tact--they basically said go home and don't plan to come back. I think they didn't want kids sticking around. Good that he has somewhere to go. I almost stayed for a few days in case something like this happened. Hope she gets out okay on Monday.

I'm a chronic over-planner, so in the event that we have to reschedule our memorial weekend wdw trip, what's a good time of year to go? hurricane season? it would have to be before november since DH starts basketball in november.

Officially hurricane season is June 1 through November 30, with peak season August through early October. So a lot of us go then and take our chances!

Woefully behind on reading here. Some churning/CC related post.

Sitting in the lounge at LAS. Very nice. Probably due to being early 9:30am but it is quiet and not crowded. We ate breakfast at the hotel so not eating anything Here. Food looks ok, similar to what we had at Staybridge suites. Though they do have French toast here. I did grab a can of coke and DS had coffee. Relaxing and charging our phones before our flight.

Will be glad to get home. Feel like things went from 0 to 60 while I was gone. DS has an extended spring break and then will be home as OSU went on line for the remainder of the semester. Work is going to 50% at home and I have no idea if we have enough TP.
