Has anyone ever been issues a SW card that had the incorrect RR # on it? I just noticed both the priority and plus cards I received from a recent MDD have a number that isn’t mine. I called to resolve and agent said she sent a message to marketing for resolution.

This is getting ridiculous. https://www.cnn.com/2020/03/09/us/coronavirus-university-college-classes/index.html
DD has issues which make "distance learning" very difficult. Now she has 2 classes which require it. She's panicking and I am royally POed!
I'm not terribly surprised that colleges are imposing post-spring break quarantines, in effect. Now that the virus is pretty pervasive all over the US as well as abroad, the choice would be to either keep all the kids at school (not possible) or accept that everyone will go home (or wherever) and bring back whatever they were exposed to, which would likely spread like wildfire. Even if the likelihood is pretty low, I can understand how the risk management people are saying its an unacceptable risk. It does completely suck for the students, especially kids that are living on campus, and considering the amount people are paying for instruction.

I'm wondering what our local school district is going to do about the same issue - they can't very well tell everyone they can't travel at all during spring break, unless the CDC comes out and makes that recommendation for everyone. I would guess that more than half the families in my town have some kind of trip planned, whether domestic or international. I wouldn't be surprised if they do 2 weeks of online school after spring break to make sure that anyone who has picked up something nasty has time to find out about it before sending kids back to school. We have a few weeks before break around here, but I'm sure that is on the table.

I just got back from Office Depot. I picked up 2 variable visa gcs for $200 each. They were completely picked clean of all visa and master card gcs. I have no idea why. There were only two visa gcs on the entire rack after I took mine

The real question is does she come home for spring break if there's a chance they won't let her back on Campus? I need her to finish and graduate!

I never even looked at mine.

I saw a number of instances of people on Twitter who cancelled flights before waivers came out that now cover their flights as I was going through DL stuff last night on this latest waiver. Folks- don't pay an airline cancellation fee until you absolutely have to. There is no benefit to you! The fee is usually (I think in most cases, do double check) the same today, tomorrow and until a day or two before your flight! I was shocked at how many people were like "I just paid $200 yesterday to cancel my April flights" NO! There is no reason unless you need the money/miles back right away.

Recap on why you should wait to cancel your flight...

1) Airline cancels your flight domestic air traffic is being cut back as well as international now by 10-15%, expect that to get worse over the coming weeks- you should get a free refund
2) Schedule change- you might be able to get a refund or make a change to the flight for free
3) Waiver- waivers are coming fast and furious, if it doesn't do what you need/want wait maybe the next one will. If it does do what you want jump on it, what if this clears up and they pull waivers but your other plans are already cancelled? Read the fine print! If you accept a voucher expiring 12/31/20 you're not going to be able to pay a cancellation fee and get cash back so maybe canceling for a voucher isn't the right call for you depending on your circumstances.

Dd's flight back went down another 4600 RR :scared1: :woohoo:All MCO-IND flights that day are down considerably.

So, I'm wondering when the hotel fire sales are going to start at Disney? Universal sent me an email for 40% off.

In other news I was able to book Moonlight Magic this morning. When I saw it I took it, but not sure I'm going to keep it. I want to be onsite that night preferably at BLT but not willing to put all my points into a 1 bedroom. I have enough points to do 3 nights at a studio, or even 4 if I buy some points from MS. They are burning a hole in my pocket!

Good sense tells me to be content to go to Hilton Head this weekend and hang it up with Disney World until fall when hopefully things are more stable.

Going to HH this weekend: driving so little contact with the public other than potty stops. One gas stop. Friday I'll hopefully get some clorox wipes otherwise I'll create my own or just use some disposable gloves to pump gas and do other necessary things. I have those on hand already. I'm not going over the top on this but simple things such as wiping a few surfaces don't seem like a bad idea. I've always been grossed out somewhat by catching the handles of doors for restrooms - now I have an excuse for that paranoia.

I'm still wondering when summer flights are going to drop. Eyeing July flights and they have only gone up LOL.

If your DD's issues are related to disabilities, have her contact her university's student disability services ASAP to discuss appropriate accommodations for distance learning. There is a very wide variety of accommodations that universities must provide, but adjusting them and setting them up the first time can take a while (especially if they are being inundated with requests, as your DD's school probably is). Especially if your DD doesn't already have an accommodation letter, you'll want to be as close to the front of the line as you can be.

Oh! Another thing I forgot. So, I have a plethora of flights I'm watching through the next month that I have booked that I either hope don't change (FL flights) or hope get cancelled (everything to do with my late April/early May Italy trip) so I can rebook/get free refunds. I put them all in Expert Flyer's schedule change alert system so I don't have to keep checking a half a dozen airline apps and hoping the airline notifies me in a timely manner if they change something. For $10 for 1 month EF will watch them for me, shot me an email with exactly what has changed if anything does and I can go about my life.

I've seen a few reports of prices going up at Disney :(

So far only movement seems to be increased availability close in (just seemed to start yesterday for me trip a week out) but it is including AP rate rooms opening up. Snagged an AP rate for my Mar trip yesterday. I've been watching for an AP rate every day for the last couple months and never saw one on that room until yesterday.

I've been following the campus closures--so far neither of my kids' schools is closing but I think it's just matter of time. From what's happened so far, I don't think what your daughter does or doesn't do matters--the concern is that students in general are traveling and possibly bringing back the virus. I'm pretty sure that the universities that have closed have not made individualized decisions based on whether a student traveled or not--they are just closed for all students (or classes canceled--some are staying open but not having classes meet in person, others are closing altogether).

I booked a jetblue flight with chase UR for disney trip in July. It's non refundable. They just changed the flight times of the return flight. Does that mean I can cancel without a fee now? I'm not sure I want to cancel yet, but I would like to know if it's possible without losing any points. My disney booking is refundable, so I would only lose the points of the flight.
I'm trying to see if I can delay the trip for a motnh or two without changing the total cost. Or maybe even reducing the total cost now that things should drop in price? But I don
t see anything cheaper yet.

I’m currently on hold! Wish me luck. Need to cancel DH’s trip.

Update 1 - was able to cancel DH’s flight and get miles reimbursed for free.
Also, I pressed 9 to speak to someone in Spanish. Because their wait times are shorter.
That's great news! Especially about the miles being reimbursed. I'm assuming your DH's flight was scheduled between now and Apr 30?

We returned from our Western Caribbean cruise on the Disney Fantasy on Saturday. We had a wonderful time, and appreciated being offline for awhile. We did return home to the news that DS’s study abroad trip to Italy and England in early May has been completely canceled. He was bummed, but understood. We were supposed to take our other two boys to Florida in a couple of weeks, but decided to save the vacation time and go to Arizona over fall break instead. The idea of entertaining a toddler at Universal was not appealing. It’ll also give us more time to build up URs to have our lodging covered for that trip.

I am curious to see what DS’s university does. Both DH and I said we’d rather be on a Disney ship right now with the cleaning protocols they are so stringent about than in a college dorm with hundreds of others. We shall see.

She has some accomodations, but distance learning has never been an issue so I don't even know what they can do. I will try.
