I'm not a United flyer so I may have missed a post about this, but rumored changes coming to the United Club Card. This is the $450 AF version. In the next couple weeks it's expected to come out as a Visa Infinite option and, of course, will have a fee increase. It could have 100k untiered sign up bonus for 5k spend - but for only a few days. It's not my wheelhouse so I'll just leave DoC's post with the info here:

What are the odds of younger person being approved for CIP? DD24 needs to get rolling on her credit history. The only cc she has is a Discover Student card which she's had for about 2 years. She barely uses it. She also has a car loan plus student loans with perfect payment history. Total length of credit is 5 years.
I was approved for Amex Plat at 22, CSR & CIP at 23.

Ew. I just saw a commercial for the KFC chicken donut sandwich:(
The AYCE KFC here calls that the "American calorie sandwich." I just think it's funny that the AYCE KFC has found something less healthy to make fun of :p

So Princess (Carnival) changed their boarding process in the wake of this coronavirus nightmare. I wonder if other lines and airlines will follow suit? See #1 specifically:

Health Advisory and Travel Safety Procedures
To protect the health and safety of all onboard, we are closely monitoring the evolving situation with novel coronavirus (COVID-19). We are quickly implementing enhanced screening measures and additional prevention and control procedures. Our protection and prevention tactics include:

  1. Beginning in select embarkation terminals on March 7th and as soon as possible in all embarkation terminals, we will be temperature checking all guests embarking on our ships using temporal scanning thermometers. All guests presenting with a fever or flu-like symptoms will be denied boarding, irrespective of their recent travel history. All guests who are denied boarding due to sickness will be issued a full cruise credit or refund.
  2. Beginning in select embarkation terminals on March 7th and as soon as possible in all embarkation terminals, we will be implementing enhanced sanitation protocols including the thorough cleaning of all hand touching surfaces for all cruise terminals before and after all sailings.
  3. Onboard all Princess ships, effective immediately, we are executing enhanced environmental sanitation protocols with a disinfectant that kills coronaviruses within 30 seconds.

Not bad at all. My DD applied for a CFU first, but was approved for a CIP at 21. @wendow has a DD who also has a CIP and is under 24.

I got my first CIP when I was 24
I only had a discover card before that one so it was my first card from chase also
Haha yeah I fit almost exactly the same situation
Plot twist... @Disneyonmymind - your daughter already has a CIP! @Haley R is your daughter!!!

I think that's part of it, if you end up quarantined you may not have much warning, so get it laid in now. Also, many are making plans to stay in more, whether schools get temporarily closed or adults decide to work from home, so more essentials will be used than normal. I know many don't think about it, but generally in a given week you'd use other facilities about once a day. If you stay home that facility break is coming from your supplies. Multiply that by number of days and number of people in the house and you'd be using up rolls faster than normal.

Is everyone thinking about it like that? Nah. The rest of it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. Where you see supplies dwindling, you don't want to be without, so you buy now before there's none left, multiplied by 10 and then like a run on a bank, a run on TP leaves some people that actually needed some SOL. No one wants to be SOL so you get fights in the TP aisle. Welcome to the crazy

I say this as a newly card carrying member since we needed TP this week and I have no idea what the landscape will be in a few weeks when I'll need more so I threw an extra pack on the order. I really don't want to join the TP aisle fights...
Me either! I shop for it in Sam’s club usually or stock up when there are good sales, so typically I have a lot on hand anyways.
