And I understand that, but when the only thing I need is the thing they don't want to give me, I can't mess up my plan just to see if they'll give me something else. I realize I could transfer the MR to either Hilton or Marriott but then I may be stuck with a card that I don't want rather than one'd I'd keep. So I'll stop trying and wait until my Feb statement cuts and if the popup doesn't go away I'll move on. I can't go for a chase card until March anyway but I could be earning URs or Hyatt points that I actually need for this trip which is why I find it annoying. And while I realize it's not a denial in the same sense, it is and that just irritates me. To me it's worse than a regular denial because they aren't looking at anything other than what I've spent so far and are saying you aren't good enough, we don't want you and we don't care how much you make or what your credit score is, we think you suck.
It's also hard if this makes me put all my eggs in chase's basket to make this trip happen, I was counting on amex to help spread things out and I realize I could use their Marriott cards but what good is that if I don't want to keep them anyway, I'll just further peeve them off.
