Yes, I regularly use our cat 5 BonBlah certs for a stay in WDW. I believe one if not all three properties at Marriott Village are Good neighbor hotels and cat 5 or lower.
Thanks for the suggestion. The refundable rates come out to $92/night, $462 total. I think we'd be better off using the $240 we have left of our Brilliant credit for this year and pay the reset when our credit resets in March.

Can I call the hotel to prepay part of it?

I was just the opposite of @Haley R , I was HUGE with both. I remember being at Target with baby 1, barely 6 months along, and a woman says "you must be due any day now" uh nope, 3 more months "oh, it must be twins then?" uh nope. With baby 2, I was in maternity clothes before 8 weeks. We went to Disney when I was 12 weeks, and looked at least 5 months along. I just carried wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy far out in front with both.

Clearly we're pregnancy twins! See photo before, LOL. I got that with #2, they asked when I was due and I still had 2 mos. They couldn't believe it (guessed I was due within days).

The best was the teacher in the room next to me heard when I announced #2's pregnancy. She came over and said to me, I'm so glad...I thought you were just getting fat.

I first read this as baby 1 was almost 6 months old and baby 2 was due in 3 months. I was like what the what???? lol

Ok I may admit I have a problem... may, mind you, not committing yet... but despite asking hubby last night what bills he can switch to my MSR cuz I'm not sure exactly about meeting the last 2k needed in the next two months just with our usual expenses, I'm itching to open another card cuz I'm at 4/24 again

I was good (ish) for a whole month since I dropped under end of Nov (have AmEx pop up to thank for that). Now it feels wasteful just sitting here when there is another slot to fill

Me too...my favorite was when we were visiting my girlfriend in Philly and the ticket taker at the Philadelphia Museum of Art looked at me and said "d*mn girl you big." This is how I now think of Philly-random people being insulting. :rotfl: Fortunately I didn't care and laughed...

Any thoughts on the AMEX Green personal card? Is it worth going to 3/24 for? I will be getting a CIP, but that spend will be done in a couple of days, so I could use another spend, and that one is not huge.
Also if I get that now, will it hurt my Chase biz app at the end of the week (super dumb question), assuming I don't get a pop-up?

I actually extended my time over 5/24 (yes, I just went under in November but am now quite happily back to 7/24) for this. My thoughts are : 1) I always need more MRs and 45K for 2K MSR was easy (I found that incognito) and 2) it sort of helped rationalize justify take away the sting of my Away luggage purchase. Also, I spend quite a lot on travel so I can split its 3X earning with the CSR's 3X earning and make more MRs. Obviously you know what your current needs for flexible currencies are so ymmv.

I'm pretty sure Chase's 0/30 is just for Chase cards but you might want to check with someone who isn't 7/24.😝

Hey now, pants are expensive! You don't want to break your streak 🤣 👍
I am way too cheap to buy new pants so you’re right - that will motivate me if it becomes a factor.

UGH that is rough! I can't wait to get home and take a power nap. Only 90 more minutes 😴
Hey, I didn’t rule out naps of the 15-20 min variety. Just hour+ long naps!! 🤣

NEW Chase Southwest Personal Card Offer available via support link! UP TO 75,000 POINTS!!!

Earn up to 75,000 points.

  • Earn 40,000 points after you spend $1,000 on purchases in the first 3 months of account opening
  • Plus, earn 35,000 after you spend $5,000 on purchases within your first 6 months of account opening
  • Offer ends February 18, 2020
It appears that all support links will automatically update to this offer!! So this is basically a 75k / $5k MSR offer... that's pretty darn good and combining this offer with EITHER biz offer will net you a SW CP. I'd still stop and consider whether 2 biz cards is the better play though... or maybe you already got 2 biz cards and want to go for the tri-fecta!! (Perhaps not a bad idea!!)

ALSO WORTH POINTING OUT THAT IT APPEARS THESE OFFERS ARE ONLY AVAILABLE VIA SUPPORT LINK - So you if you're a lurker or newbie and you want in on this you might want to join DISchurners!

I totally forgot to talk about our flight experiences for Christmas. We flew out of Sanford with allegiant 12/20-12/30. Both were booked through chase. On the way to Iowa we landed 20 minutes early and on the way back we landed 30 minutes early. I’m not sure how they managed that but I was super pleased. We also didn’t find out until the last flight that we had priority seating. I have no idea how that happened. Our boarding passes on the app said zone 3 but I checked on the website to see flight status and it said we had priority. Idk if it’s because we booked with chase or what. We weren’t sure if it would work but we walked up, scanned our boarding passes, and were some of the first people on

UberEats - check the restaurants in your area and use the pickup option where available to avoid service/delivery/small order fees and tip. Stack with your Platinum’s $15 monthly Uber credit.

DoC keeps a running list of UberEats promo codes that may or may not work for you, but try them anyway:

FYI - UberEats codes like Uber as transportation/travel, not dining/restaurants.
thanks much

👍 👍 👍 I have collected plenty of different pant sizes over the years, but I do NOT want to grow past the 32s I am currently on 🤣

Oh good! Maybe I will make my nap 55 minutes just to be safe :rotfl:

Hmmm. I might have to consider this. I was thinking of taking a break from Chase because of my biz apps. However, I think I am now 0/24 on personal cards and I've been waiting for a good bonus to come along.

DH got an upgrade offer on his Amex Gold! 60k MRs for $5k spend. Planning to use up the airline and dining credits on the Gold, wait for it to post, apply for the Plat (🤞 no pop-up), then take the upgrade offer.

Has anyone been able to pull up the 70 or 75k Plat offer via support? 75k only comes up for me without support.
I've opened support links, specifically DHs, multiple time in incognito and got the 75k offer.

I posted some thoughts about the Amex Green when it was refreshed:

Since then, it's now possible to pull a better 45k MR SUB with the $150 Away credit offer via support link (previously, only 35k MR w/$150 Away credit via support, or 45k MR w/only $100 Away credit as a standalone app via incognito). If you have a P2 with an Amex card, P2 could support you to the Amex Green (or vice versa) and get the best of both worlds.

https://www.doctorofcredit.com/amer...accepting-new-applications-45000-point-bonus/
My wife got the Amex Green in November with the 45k MR w/ $100 Away credit incognito offer. I'm a bit miffed at the missed $50 Away credit, but it's been a great card for her. 3x MR at restaurants and 3x MR on travel fits her spend very nicely. I'd note that the 3x MR travel category is much broader than Amex's other "travel" category bonuses on other cards that are limited to things like purchases made directly with airlines, hotels, and bookings through Amex Travel. The Green is a direct competitor with the CSR in DW's wallet, and the Green has all but replaced her CSR in swipes since we're flush with UR and trying to build up her MR balance, and Amex values ongoing spend on their cards if you want to get more cards with no pop up vs. Chase.

The credits are designed to encourage you to spend on things that you might not have otherwise, so I can't value them at face value. The Away credit is useful if you're in a market for new luggage (we were, and purchased our DD an Away carry-on). But keep in mind that Away carry-ons start at $225 (minus a $20 support credit), so even with a $150 credit you'll be spending out of pocket. Being a free member of Delta or United's FF programs will get you a discount on CLEAR down to $119, but again the Green's $100 credit doesn't cover the whole benefit, much less if you're traveling with a companion or family. We have yet to find a use for the LoungeBuddy credit when we already have access to the Centurion, Escape, and Priority Pass lounges.

45k MR for $2k spend is a really good deal. Even better if P2 can support you to the Green (or vice versa). The bonus categories are solid. And if you can make use of the credits, it'll help to negate some of the AF. At 2/24 going to 3/24, I'd go for it since you'll still have 2 slots to play with and biz cards to keep you busy. But at 4/24? Probably not.

One more thing, the introductory offers on the Green end 1/15/2020, so decide soon.

So to recap all of the Southwest offers available out there:

1) Performance Business - 70k / $5k MSR / 3 months
2) Premier Business - 60k / $3k MSR / 3 months
3) ALL Personal cards (3 available) - 75k / $5k MSR / 6 months (tiered and must spend $1k in first 3 months).

If you are somebody who DOES NOT do business cards and your Chase slate is clean over the last 3 months... Perhaps a MDD with 2 personal cards is your ticket to the SW CP....... If you thought earning a companion pass was impossible, I'd say this is your best (only?) chance!

32s here too my friend! 32s for LIFE!!!!

I'm also in 32s. Have been for years. But have you noticed 32s have been getting wider around the waist too? I think the garment industry is playing with us to keep us feeling good about ourselves.

Maybe you should just say something really offensive in return to repay the favor. Be like "It's not my fault you all must have gotten super fat when you had babies" 🤣 🤣 I don't understand why anybody would feel the need to point that out - perhaps they think that they are complimenting you but whatever! Still seems like an out of place comment to me!

Yes, and @Haley R you should start practicing your offensive comments for when you do show and random strangers start thinking it's okay to touch you. I did start saying, "please don't do that" but what I really wanted to say is "why the %^^& do you think it's okay to do that?"

I definitely understand what you're saying! I tried on a pair of shorts last year and I considered sizing down. There are certain brands I have to avoid because they just do not fit correctly.

On a side note, it looks like we could start a "brotherhood of the traveling pants" :rotfl:
