CC updates, working through MSR of my Hyatt, making good progress given my annual insurance bill. My annual fee is coming due on my SPG LUX (marriott brilliant), I called for a retention offer and nothing, not sure with everything going on if having an additional FN cert and the hefty annual fee is worth it for now. Seriously consider downgrading and hoping for an upgrade offer sometime later. I did express my frustration that amex is not offering some relief at this time. Can you use the Luv voucher on EBCI for future flights? Or are they only good for flight costs? I am going to have to cancel a May trip that I have EBCI on.

From what I understand in all my research the answer is no, you can’t use a voucher to purchase EBCI. It is only applicable to airfare. But please someone correct me if I’m wrong.

It's a WashPo article so I'm not linking in order to prevent any possible issues, but Treasury is aware of the problem and working to fix it.

Well today was the worst day of my entire professional career... 10 of my customers will not be getting PPP funds, despite me doing everything right, despite applying immediately when available. I don’t want to get into the reasons why on a message board (for privacy reasons) but it’s not right, and these people essentially got screwed (and not by the govt).

I had a bad work day too. At one point this morning I thought I was going to burst into tears (and I’m NOT a crier). As a dietitian it is my job to make sure patients get nutrition. In my specialty, that means many of my patients can’t eat by mouth so they get tubefeeding or IV nutrition. Despite the fact that I have ordered feedings for most of these patients, they are getting nothing, mostly for reasons out of my control. Obviously things like breathing and heart function take precedence over nutrition, so it’s not the first priority but I really felt totally useless and powerless this morning and wanted to cry in frustration.

I’m in a similar situation with the Brilliant If we downgrade now, we lose out on the FN certificate, correct? I’m thinking of waiting until the FN posts, then downgrading.

I wasn’t expecting mine yet. I know mine will be mailed because they haven’t had my bank info for years. Just totally annoyed that their checking status tool doesn’t work.

DD20 and DS23 have to file their own taxes so they should be getting it, but the IRS tool gave me that "don't have info" message for them. I will not give the IRS any bank info so they've have to wait for the paper check.

It is unbelievable how badly this appears to have been handled by some banks. I’m not a banker, so I’m sure there is more to the story, but several of my clients didn’t get funding through their bank even though they applied early on and had all the required paperwork submitted properly. And some were bigger banks too. And many banks were not taking on new customers because they were flooded with applications from existing customers they wanted to tend to first. So, three weren’t many options even if you wanted to go somewhere else.

Sorry you had to deliver that news....must have been tough. At least you know that you did everything you could.

Our refinance was pushed back a few weeks and thats delayed our next moves. I’ve been eligible for a Chase card for like a month now! I’ve considered Amex since no hard pull but honestly nothing suits our needs so I’ll sit tight continuing to wait.

So it appears maybe I didn't need that new SW card I was so happy about this morning The extra points towards it may have been enough to get me my CP. If that was the case a CIP would have been a better card for me. I swear I'm always one step behind in this hobby. Oh well, the extra SW points won't hurt. I feel the same way, more because I love their shorts. The pair I really wanted they no longer had in my size so I didn't buy anything yet. ALL these Chase MSR extensions and I am sitting here with my new Explorer card and didn't get it! HAHA Oh well, I am ordering online like crazy so it should be fine. I will blame United. Probably it's fault Most of my spend has been going on the Gold because I feel like it is harder for me to find places that take Amex, but I am already over halfway done with that MSR. OOPS, I thought I was going slow. I should shift some spending to Chase!

Yes! On my personal Plat. It will come in handy with all the online ordering. I get multiple emails from Amex that I am using the extra 2pts promo I got when I activated my Gold. I think I will hit that threshold pretty fast!

For those of you stuck at home with your spouse, significant other, children, etc. and are perhaps finding yourselves a little at odds with each other, I would like to offer a bit of advice....take this added time to dream together. Dream about your future travels, life plans, even your favorite meal to cook together.

My dh was WFH for three weeks. He spent most of his work time at his desk but spent lunch, breaks and a few extra minutes here and there with me, talking about many, many things; where we wanted to retire, the cruises and trips we would go on, where we would eat once the restaurants opened. Even our old record collection was a topic of discussion.

On Palm Sunday we walked out into our field, hand in hand just for some fresh air. One thing led to another, and pretty soon we had a few yard tools and were trimming around the sapling trees that were planted a few years back. These trees were a GREAT joy to him! After consuming lunch out in the field, a pbj and a can of ginger ale (his favorites, and which he was totally thankful for) we continued on with our work. Shortly thereafter he collapsed of a fatal heart attack. It was a quick passing with no suffering.

In all bad you must look for the good. Had I not lost my job last August I most likely would not have been out in the field with him. Had this stupid virus not permeated our world we would not have spent so much time together recently. In his death I am so grateful it was a quick passing and he was in a place he loved, doing something he loved. And in the BEST of it all, he died with a power tool in his hand. That would please him immensely!

I write this not to bring the mood down or to clog the thread with sympathy posts. I write it 1) for a little cathartic release, 2) a reminder for everyone to embrace every situation you are in, good or bad, and 3) churning advice for points, miles, FNC etc of a deceased P2.

I am so sorry for your loss! You and your family are in my thoughts. Thank you for sharing this touching story with us. I am so glad you got to spend so much quality time with him.
