I applied for a CSP on November 1, and received "thank you for your request, we need to review your request a little longer." Today I called the status line which said that I should have the answer "in approximately 2 weeks." I understand that usually means you will be approved. Does anyone know how to speed up the process? I have a bill for flooring that was just installed, and now I need a new garage door and would like to put that on CSP. Can I ask them to expedite a card that hasn't been approved yet?
Just to put the end of this story - I called again this morning and this time it said I was approved (yeah!). Then I transferred over and asked for the card to be expedited and they set it may be here Friday, depending on delivery service. If all goes well, I'll meet the minimum spend in one billing cycle.

Thanks for the report back. It gives me hope. Fingers crossed for tomorrow when I get to call back again.

For those waiting for annual pass money, I just got an email from Disney Destinations. I haven't called and have previously received the partial refund. Decided to fully cancel by the August deadline after they sent an email to choose cancel or keep. -

I still have not received ours and I didn’t get that email either. I’ve given up

Any Universal experts here today? I need help., we will be at Universal for 4 nights but have 5 day tickets.. We arrive super late on Tuesday 11/24, I booked us a room at the Marriott element near by and plan to get up early to checkin at HRH the next morning, I figured we would get up early grab breakfast and be at HRH before the 9AM opening but I just check and now they are opening at 8AM with 7AM early admission to BOTH parks. Which park should we visit first? I'm thinking Universal Studios since we probably won't get to the park until closer to 8, I will try to get us there by 7:45 so we can at least get in before the normal crowd.
Then on Thanksgiving start at IO to ride Hagrid's, I'm guessing we'll have to be out the door by 6:15, it also happens to be DD's 10th bday.
Is this a good plan? Any tips are appreciated. Any good blogs that will have good touring plans?

Use Virtual Queue for Hagrids it is really easy and can enable you to ride multiple times. You will be set with you express pass for everything else. Check in takes a while when we went a couple months ago but it was a Saturday morning so you may be better off midweek although so close to Thanksgiving it could still be busy.

The $199 AF just hit on my SW business card. It will be due on my next statement, or around December 9. This card gives you 9k SW miles on your one-year anniversary. I was approved for the card on 10/14/19. I checked my SW account, and the miles haven't hit yet.

I've done this before, but have forgotten the timing. I know I waited until after the 9k miles hit to cancel the card. Are those miles likely to hit before I have to pay the AF on December 9? Will I have to pay the AF, then cancel, then get a refund of the AF?

Also, any data points on getting the AF waived on SW cards? I know Chase generally isn't very generous in that area, but I wondered if they might make an exception with SW cards since so few people have been flying and more people are probably wanting to cancel since they aren't really getting a benefit. I'd hang on to the card for free to the upgraded boardings, etc., but I'm not paying for it for another year!
DH’s just hit also. I am pretty I have had enough $8 free WiFi this year to cover the AF.

You can book hotel and park tickets, including Disney without airfare.

Thanks! Do you just book hotel and car/ground transportation? Have you tried to call and remove the car when booking? I am only seeing Universal tickets on there. I would love to purchase Disney tickets with the $$$ we have in credits.

My DD has been out of college since 2018. She got the student Discover right before graduation and then earlier this year she got a CIP. She wants a new personal card asap and we were trying to decide between the CFU or CSP. I was actually leaning toward CSP, with my referral, until I just read this. She also has an AU on my CSP. Now I don't know what to do.

I'm no expert, but I hate suggesting a card with a good chance of a denial. The kids I know were mostly 2019 and they have good salaries for HCOL areas (tech, finance, etc.) All were AUs on CSRs or Plats, all had good credit scores with no issues. None have college loans. I only know of 3, though, so it may still be possible, but all of those rejections happened before the credit tightened up this summer. I suggested the Amex Green for my DD and she did get that one (but only after she had a "real" job with a good salary.)

All of this talk has me thinking about my own DD who will likely give up her current job to go back to school next summer. Maybe I should push her to get one more card before she's back to living on a stipend...

ETA - I don't mean to discourage you, just to let you know that I haven't seen a "kid" get one of these cards yet. I would be happy to be wrong about this one.

You have to call to book hotel only and Disney tickets.

Maybe I need to call. They said they did everything right on their end so they forwarded our case to the escalation team. I’m kind of just over it

The anniversary points post at statement close. My last anniversary was in June and the points posted on July statement. If 10/14 is in this statement cycle I'd expect them to post on next closing date.

I got a retention offer in Feb for SW Premier Biz but nothing in July for the SW Priority. I'd guess retentions on the highest tier cards are slim. I haven't seen any positive DPs for the Performance Biz.

Both of my boys were approved for CSP just out of college. They did both have a 4 year history of their own ( credit union Visa and Cap One Quick Silver) in addition to being AU for years before that.

don’t blame you I would called early for me I got through much quicker than that later on....the issue with the one was the address...so confirm where the check was sent....for some reason that one was sent to an old address even though the address in MDE was updated

Ah that could be an issue. I’ll try to call but it’s hard to find the time with ds.

I got a Chase SM today announcing a new Rewards dashboard for my SW card. It shows you your use of the $75 travel credit and if you have used your 4 upgraded boarding positions. I like it!
Me too! I found it last week looking to see how many upgraded boardings I’d used. And today I got an email about getting points for a referral and how many I have received for the year. I like both changes.
