I was thinking about a MDD too. But ultimately deicided to just got to for the CSP. Maybe 4 years from now, I’ll try it! 😂
4 years from now will be a different world. LOL. I considered a MDD also, but ultimately decided against it. With no travel on the horizon for 2020 and who knows how much of 2021 and my Amex Gold (my oldest card...never getting rid of it) earning 4X on groceries, I decided to wait on the CSR until better travel times.

I may (or may not) have to dispute a room charge.

I booked a couple of nights in a different hotel than the Hyatt for one of the nights of my last weekend's trip. Canceled on the same day, and since I booked each night separately, I have 2 reservations and 2 cancelation emails.

Anyway, the hotel declared me a no show and billed me double for one of the reservations. Chase alerted me that I may have been incorrectly billed, because of two identical charges. Called the hotel, who claimed they couldn't see the cancelation, even with my cancelation number provided to them. Did not speak to management or anyone other than what I figure was a front desk clerk, who advised that I should call the parent company direct. (This is probably my weak link.)

Did this and was transferred directly to a supervisor who confirmed that I had canceled correctly within the reservation parameters. They were forwarding the info to the GM's office and told me to expect a response in 48 hours.

Meanwhile, my account has been credited with substantial points (not requested) enough for a free night. But, I want this charge removed.

Should know by tomorrow if I have to go further. Have never had to dispute a charge, ever, so I will be annoyed if I can't resolve this directly.

I actually attribute this to Covid. Staffing is not what it usually is, and people with lesser experience are probably trying to muddle through. When I called the hotel I was confident it would get taken care of immediately, but I was met with confusion, and couldn't get anyone higher up locally on the moment. In one sense I blame myself for willy nilly booking and canceling - I was considering a 2 hotel stay to utilize a rather inexpensive rate, plus using points at the hotel I stayed at. Then 2 things made me cancel - weather projection and the decision to stay put in one place.

Can someone help me with food processors? Dh and I are not huge into cooking but we’re considering making our own baby food so need a food processor or chopper. I’m pretty overwhelmed. I’m looking at cuisinart and see a 4 cup or 12 cup (comes with a 4 cup also). I’m not sure how likely it will be that we use the processor for anything besides baby food to be honest unless someone can convince me it’s worth buying the bigger 12 cup one. On amazon the 12 cup is $217 and the 4 cup is $60

On the subject of new rules, I came across DPs of Citibank not approving if there are any inquiries in the last 6 months. What’s your take on that? It’s going to throw a wrench into my plans for a Prestige when my Premier 24 months is up.
I am one of these DPs. After being denied CSP, I applied for Citi Premier. They denied me for having too many inquiries. CSP was the only inquiry in the past 6 months.

I have both that I have rarely (maybe never) used. For baby food I used my regular blender way back when. The larger cuisinart attracted me because of a slicing attachment. The smaller one because it was small - I've never opened the small one. Sooner or later a family member will find them and appropriate them.

And, a new blender is on my horizon because I've managed to drop and crack the handle which makes it awkward.

I had Southwest travel funds for DD and DH that were due to expire in Oct. 2020 so were not automatically covered by the extension/conversion option. I booked a dummy flight before 9/7 and will cancel in 48 hours to take advantage of the point conversion option (Southwest customer service told me to do this directly so I figured it was okay to post here).
ok.. for the SWA funds, you can book a flight using them, and then cancel/turn into points easily?

We don’t even have a blender lol. Do you think we should just get the smaller one then?

We have the nutribullet baby. I like that it has the freezer cups and individual portion storage. I would suggest buying extra storage cups, as I always need more than 6.

Ninja...I cannot overstate this enough times! The brand is fantastic,at a much lower price point than comparable products with much more well known brand names.... I have a great model I got a few years back which I use for everything from smoothies to shredding my own cheese.... It's a fairly small base, comes with 2 single serve smoothies cups(those are my main cheese shredders lol) and a small blender/food processer type carafe- which works well for chopping or blending larger quantities- bc of the blades,it can double for some food processor needs also.(I don't do that much with the fp anyway) the motor on a Ninja is amazing...it's one of my best kitchen tools. I use those 2 smoothies size cups daily for various kitchen needs, rarely just for smoothies tho

Okay, so the Nordstrom anniversary sale was a huge bust this year. I always find things but everything was sold out before non card members had access. Wanted to get dd a madewell sweater. And I was looking for zella joggers, a north face parka, and a few other things.

Well, we were finally cleared to close on our refinance. We started the process June 17th, this is much faster than they had quoted. I did apply for the CSP right in the middle of the refi because I forgot we were doing a refi. I'm 3/6 so I won't be applying for any Chase cards, but I am interested in the Amex Gold for myself, which would put me 4/24. I plan to double dip Southwest cards, but that can probably wait until after the new year since we won't need to CP until late in 2021.

For a minute I did think to have DH apply for the CFU to take advantage of the 0% interest to buy DVC direct, we have the cash for a 100 point resale contract but not enough for a direct contract. We are looking for 100 point AKV contract, those are being listed at $130 for contracts with 2020 points. I could buy direct from DVC with a Dec UY that would include 2019 points. But then I would be paying a premium for 2019 points and very little member benefits.

We got a cuisinart mini prep food processor when DD was a baby. We made a fair amount of baby food with it but we bought baby food too. We also use it for various cooking or baking tasks. It doesn’t take up a lot of room. It’s still going strong for > 20 years. I also have a ninja blender that I rarely use and I’ve considered a big food processor but have never bought one. We do basic cooking and have managed without it.

I agree! I couldn't get anything I wanted online (from the US). I ventured out to the Nordstorm in Toronto yesterday (even though public access to the sale doesn't start until today -- wanted to see if there is anything worth going back for) and didn't see anything I wanted. Some of the merchandise was vastly different too -- the US had Asics running shoes for $99.00 (which I always get, but wasn't able to this year), the local store here only had Nikes -- I tried them on and didn't like them. The clothing was completely picked over from the weekend 'pre sale' for Ambassadors. I won't be going back for anything. Online access starts tomorrow (in Canada) and I may look for some warm Ugg socks, but that's it. I am not a fan of their new method of blocking everyone but their Visa card holders and 'Ambassador' Nordy club members (I don't spend over $5,000.00 / year there to meet that threshold o_O). I think I should be thanking them for saving me money!

I cook everyday (usually rather complicated vegetarian cuisine), host large gatherings, make my own hummus, sauces, etc. I use a hand blender (honestly this thing is the workhouse of my kitchen) and a very small Cuisinart food processor. I am not a fan of big kitchen gadgets. I'd definitely go for the $60.00 one. This is the newer version of the one I have in both houses -- if you go the BB&B route you can use a 20% coupon.

I just placed my order, I got two pairs of Vince Camuto boots (I have a terrible time with finding shoes that fit so these will probably end up going back), a pair of Articles of Society skinny jeans, and a Carlson knit blazer to wear when I'm cold at work. Most of the items I wanted were already sold out too, but I'm trying these and will see if I like anything. I do love their free shipping and free returns. Makes it too easy to order things just to try!

I'm not sure if it matters to you, but just wanted to make sure you were aware that the points requirement for getting direct benefits is rumored to be changing from 100 to 125 points on Oct. 1st.

I had the small one when my kids were babies and it worked well. It was also good for making pesto. The shape and size made it easy to clean.

I did, which is why I’m thinking about going this route. But we don’t need the blue card benefits, at least not in the next few years. We probably won’t need APs until our girls are out of the house and DH and I can take more weekend trips vs yearly week-llong trips. I feel like we’d be wasting $5,000 buying direct but then I have FOMO.

Also trying to figure out our next cards to get. Last month got BOA Premier for both DH and I and BOA Biz for DH. Spend is done on all of them - thanks to Tuition. Still trying to stay under 5/24 as not many other cards right now that interest me (haven't tried AMEX in a while though)

DH is currently 3/24 and his last Chase Card was CIP in November. Thinking of doing MDD for CSR/CSP in November (That is when his eligible). I can refer the CSP from my card. He currently only has $17000 in open credit with Chase so good there. And the 3 months would bring me through January, which would cover Christmas and the next semester of Tuition. So, then he would be 5/24. Also would like to get him SW Cards again. He will back to 4/24 in April - so possibly a MDD on SW Cards then . Not sure if that is way too many Chase cards in that amount of time though.

Have no idea what to get for me. I am 4/24 with another dropping off in December. Not Eligible for CSR/CSP until like March 2021. I did SW this year already. Could look at BOA Biz but with Tuition paid - not sure I could spend the $5000 in 90 days.

I hate being without an MSR...
