Well, technically "Premium Economy" and up on domestic flights gets 1 checked bag but I haven't seen PE options in my limited searches, so I'm not sure what routes that's even available on. Otherwise you need status or an international flight.

Transatlantic flights on basic economy are $60 per bag on AA. Thank you for the airline credit, AmEx Plat!

Two small wins today-

I left my favorite carry on with DD (because I'm a good mom, lol) so of course it needed to be replaced
I have several amex offers at ebags burning a hole in my pocket so when I saw the 20x miles on united (also AA and another portal too I believe) I jumped on it. Fortunately, ebags was also running one of their 30% sales so I earned 2000 MRs, 2280 United Miles and oh yes, I get another carryon. Whoo hoo! I also earned 330 miles at Petco since I have A Very Spoiled Bulldog. Slowly but surely replenishing the United stash I depleted with flights from ZAG-home for DH and ZAG-BRU (in biz cause it's my bday) for me.

Also for some reason my mother gave DH 2 $100 VGCs for his birthday (why not cash? who knows?) so I ordered a serve card and yesterday and today went to the 2 closest FDs and successfully loaded them and transferred to my bank. Yipee! Since I don't have a staples close nor a CIC I won't really be doing a lot of MSing but maybe after I fall under 5/24 I'll get a CIC so happy to know it's do-able in my area (for now anyway). The two cashiers were super nice but FDs are kind of...messy so I had to get in and get out or my cleaning gene would kick in.

I think we’ll be flying SW for our spring break trip, probably to Hawaii. I’m currently sitting at the airport and I started to wonder if we should try for a companion pass for DH. I currently have one and DD is my companion. If DH got one then DS could be his companion? I could do the 50,000 offer for him on our flight home. Then do the business offer in a month or two.

My only concern is he just got CIP #2 less than a month ago. Would applying for a personal card 20ish days later be too fast for Chase? He’s at 3/24.

A personal card 20 days later carries a small amount of risk. What do all of his cards look like over the past year leading up to that CIP?

Also - couldn’t you look to earn that CP in early 2020 so you have it for almost 2 years vs. just 1.
