I love credit cards so much! v2.0 (see first page for add'l details)

So does anyone here actually buy trip insurance (like through Allianz, etc) or do you just rely on your credit card protection? Our Med cruise/trip was really pricey. I used SO MANY different cards to make payments on things throughout the 18 rolling months beforehand it was kind of a mess if I would have had to make a claim. With the year I've had (sick husband, sick mother, crazy job) I vowed this would be the last trip I'd take without some real insurance. It would have sucked to flush about 10 grand down the toilet, you know?

So now I've got to buy some coverage for my Disney cruise - just wondering who others have used? And of course - does it code as travel (lol)?

We always purchase travel insurance to cover the medical aspect of our trips. We use Travelex Insurance. DS had a severe ear infection on our last Disney Cruise and we had to use the ship's doctor. We filed a claim when we returned home and Travelex paid the full amount. It did not code as travel unfortunately ;).

I am going to the annual passholders home page on Universal Studios site.

The $179 is Cabana Bay and the $304 is RPR. It looks like SF and Adventura also have availability. PBR is undergoing some room Renos which is probably why there is nothing.

Thank you!! I appreciate it.

I set up DH ‘s online Amex Biz account and I can already see the last 5 digits on the card. I’d like to see the whole card because I could use it today lol. I thought I remembered Amex offering a temporary number right after approval but that didn’t happen. If DH calls them this morning, will they expedite the card?
I was able to get DH's account number after approval. It was part of the next set of screens that came up after he was approved. It asked if I would like his account number, I said yes and then had to go through a couple of confirmation screens and the CC # appeared and it told me that 1/2 of the CL was available until the physical card came.

What do I doooo????
The path of Dorian slowed and now shows 2am Tuesday. Needless to say, I worry about the airport getting back up to full operation, schedule disruptions, etc if I stick with my Tuesday flight. Also, the spaghetti models show a u-turn which keeps it in my flight path longer than just 12 hours. Earliest I can switch to is Monday leaving BNA at 2:45. That is worrisome too, in case the storm speeds back up. Ugghhh. On the current track, that would put is getting in just shy of 12 hours from when it is supposed to pass thru orlando.
Should I switch now?
And of course, I am wishing I had spent the money to put us at YC if we are going to be there during the storm so we could move about. Boo on that.

I purchased through insure my trip .com for our upcoming WDW trip. I honestly have my Disney payments spread out across so many CCs and Disney GCs that I can't even remember if I have any on cards that would include coverage lol. I was just nervous about going during hurricane season and wanted to be extra sure I was going to be covered. I figured now that I paid the $300 for it, there should be no hurricanes in sight...

Planning my next CC. I'm at 4/24. Last Chase approval was CIP #2 on 6/3.

I will be cancelling CIP #1 after its anniversary at the end of September & looking to get a new card around 10/1.

I'm considering a few different plans:

1. Apply for CIP #3 (after CIP #1 is closed) - I feel like this loophole will be closed sooner rather than later
2. Apply for Chase IHG - the increased bonus is very useful to me for our travel plans BUT it would put me at 5/24 for almost a year & I'm not sure it's THAT useful
3. Apply for AA Biz #2
4. Do both (1) & (3) at the same time. It will be easy to hit MSRs on our honeymoon

I am leaning towards Plan 4 but maybe there is something I haven't considered?

Special thanks to @pinkxray for mentioning something causing me to check again today. Very limited availability had been coming and going BUT this morning...EVERYTHING!

Sorry just to clarify this is for 2020!

EDIT:
FYI, they may only be available through the end of May. I struggle to find availability for June and beyond.

For a guy who snoozes the alarm 3 times and sleeps past 9 everyday... I just bounded down the steps like it was Christmas morning at 8:30!!! LOL! Jump out of bead, basically falling out of the bedroom...skipping steps, jumping...I'm positively giddy!

Seriously - when I clicked "map view" and saw all of those dots on my phone I could not contain my excitement :D :D :D

Now to figure out what to do... Do I book now and use a CRAP-TON of miles, or do I hope Disney brings out their typical discounts which would save me a lot of miles if it tracks into AAvacations (and it seems the discounts have been tracking through in 2019). Hmmmmmmmm!!!!

But no deluxes? I was thinking we would do our 2 pre-cruise Spring Break nights at Disney since we have been to Universal so much.

You want CR and YC, right? Based on historical discounts CR gets a very small discount compared to other deluxes. YC will receive very large discounts IF there is not a convention and the rooms don't fill.

How many miles would you save if CR was discounted 10% and YC 25%? I would not imagine them being higher than that for general public discounts. After you find that number, how hard would it be to get the difference back (1 SUB)?

I never know what to do in these situations, but I would personally be scared they could be removed from the portal without notice in the future.

I figured out why they came back... Last night I went and bought $650 in Disney gift cards towards my trip. The universe knew that I was beginning to stock up on gift cards........ HAHA!

Luckily, I laugh in the face of the universe! That could all go towards dining :D

Not Chase, but I just checked my Citi App and it shows both a "pending" charge and an "actual" charge for my tuition. I just hope it drops off/fixes itself tomorrow.
I just called quality assurance and they assured me only one payment is showing on their end and it may just be the authorization. Makes me feel a little better, but only time will tell :bored:

I did the same thing Tuesday and then booked through PLE on Wednesday. Like you, I have food and possibly some sort of DAH or party tickets to buy anyways, so no loss.
