Thanks I’m hoping to go back home but SO has no desire to go back. He only misses the food. I miss everything lol we also need to be making a lot more money because SO is demanding an apartment that is equivalent to what we have now and that’s easily $5,000 a month in Manhattan. Queens maybe more realistic for us but depending on how far out we are and where in Manhattan the commute is a pain. SOs commute is 20 mins here and all his coworkers are closer and think that’s a long commute. In NY he easily would spend over an hour on his commute to/from Manhattan from queens lol

My 17-year-old son loves New York and wants to live there. Of course, he doesn't understand what it's like to be a slave to your mortgage or rent. We live in a relatively low cost of living state. We have a really good disposable income. I've never needed credit card miles or points to afford our 20 something DCL cruises or 20+ trips to WDW. This city we live in is as boring as heck, but my 800.00 dollar mortgage and 1% percent property taxes is the payoff. Good luck. Whatever you decide.

According to careerplanner dot com, I am firmly Gen X; my kids are either called iGen or Gen Z. As much as Apple branding irritates me (and why is it the Apple Watch instead of the iWatch??) the iGen thing is appropriate for my kids.

Looks like there is a State communications tax plus a possible municipal communications tax levied on streaming services in FL.

I also thought that I read somewhere that the tax is levied on the standard 3 year price of $210 not the discounted $140.....but I could have imagined that.

Some places are worth the money lol NY can be cheap too if you are willing to live in the boroughs. I paid $1100 a month for my first apartment. It was a studio with no AC no dishwasher or washer/dryer but it was safe and clean. We have all that now in VA and a gym, a pool, a garage, a package concierge service, a wine storage area, and a pet spa lol he is wanting equivalent amenities in NY and that’s where it gets pricey lol

Dude we were playing on apple computers it was a black background and green text. Pretty sure they ran dos this was pre windows in like 86 to 89.

Definitely going to date myself on this one, but we got our first computer when I was in the 8th or 9th grade. Played Pac-man and Pong on the RadioShack TRS 80. Definitely very basic graphics. I just remember having to type code before and after each phrase to underline or bold. If you forgot to close out the code, the rest of the document would be underlined and bold.

I have to call IHG,, but it's too early for me to function on the phone, so I thought I'd ask you. We are supposed to fly to Chicago for the weekend, on Friday. Friends just told us they have to cancel because of a bad back issue. I have a feeling dh is going to say we should just cancel too. Flights are SW, so no issue. Room is 3 separate nights, one on each our of free night IHG certs and the last one on points. The cancellation deadline for Fridays room was 6pm yesterday. It says you would will be charged one nights fee after that time. Do you think I will just lose the cert, or will they actually try to charge me real money? Our certs expire this weekend anyway, so they are gone either way anyway.

So this morning....Well i did it. cancelled my CSR grand destino tower room and did the priceline deal. It was indeed AofA. It was $76/night. I had a 12% off email promo code bringing it down to $66.88 and I went thru topcashback to maybe get another 5% off. If that tracked with my promo code it will be $63.54/night. Crazy town. How could I pass that up?

Gaahhh, hope I don't hate it! DD3 kept asking for LM rooms once she saw the video when I was checking them out on youtube. It actually says room type decided at check-in, but I assume we will get a LM room, not a suite. If we get a suite, well that will be an amazing deal for sure. I didn't tell her we are doing LM just in case.

I got our Orlando trip completely rebooked from January to February. Feb. 18-19 at Fenway Hotel in Clearwater, and then Feb. 19-23 at the Sheraton Vistana Villages. Just got our return flights on SW for 16,300 miles for both of us. I think that will probably drop more. We were able to get round trip flights for 7,200 miles per person for our trip next month. I need to book our flights down there on Jetblue. I'm undecided if I want to take the midday nonstop flight on the 18th, or if I want to take the 7:30 pm nonstop flight on the 17th and get a hotel room near the airport for the night. Then we could pick up our rental car early on the morning of the 18th and spend the whole day in Clearwater.

I can't remember if I mentioned that DH had a trip to Las Vegas last week. He hated it hahaha. He's being sent back in October and asked if I wanted to go with him. The dates actually work well for work, but I can't really find any great flights that wouldn't cost me like 50k AA miles. I told him I'd rather go to Venice, FL with him in January for a horse show, that way I can spend several days in both January and February in Florida haha.
