I haven’t gotten the August Plastiq promo either time it has been offered. But I got one in June and one in July, so I guess that’s the main thing. I had tuition bills to pay then but not now.

Oh ok - this is different. They’re more desperate now and offering 1%! Sometimes these promos make me slight worried about the long-term viability of Plastiq. They seem rather eager to lose money in an effort to generate business.

I got a different targeted Plastiq promo. I get a 0.5% cash back rebate for all spend (in excess of my average for the past 3 months) I put through Plastiq until 8/31/19. Since I have FFDs to use, that really is cash back for me.

They were really pushing this one on me top for some reason. They emailed me 3 times about it - and since they put my personal "average" in AND they replied to the chain each time, I almost feel like it was a person sending the email. My rep is Marc, lol! He's probably pretty disappointed to see my volume of $0 for the month now.

I just checked, and this restriction is still there. I’m not sure if @bernina has had a Wells Fargo checking or savings account open for more than a year, and there are no Wells Fargo bank branches in Michigan.

Thank you both for thinking of me! @Lain is correct, I’m not at 12 months, that will be March of 2020 I think (I opened this year for the bonus). I had planned to close the account but might be worth keeping if it would open up that card.

Cancel them and then apply for a new one. That’s the definition of “churning” back when the word was coined for CCs. Getting the same card over and over, which we used to be able to. Now it’s basically CIPs and AAs only that fall under those terms.

Also, don’t worry about the “6+ year” credit history falling off; it’ll stay on for 10 more years.

Applying now with april as last is more than fine. 3 months from now, hit CIP again. You’re velocity is more than OK. You also have a nice long relationship with Chase, which only makes it that much easier.

Since I have both the old cards with the lower fees I’ve not been tempted to upgrade. I’ll do a bit more research to see if our spending and hotel stay patterns have changed enough to make the switch on one or both worthwhile. Thanks for the reminder.

Anyone happen to know what the rules are about opening a new Sam's Club membership after getting a membership refunded? I impulsively canceled my membership today--I had gone to pick up my daughter's contacts and the optical department was closed, with a little sign that said we will be back to serve you at: [more than one hour from now]. Picking up the contacts was the only reason for stopping there--since we're empty nesters, I don't buy a lot at the warehouse clubs. So while I was stuck in Sam's for more than an hour, I decided to wait in the customer service line and request a refund of my membership. I only got the membership in the first place for the AmEx offers, and then for a while Sam's was on Dosh, but before ordering the contacts, I can't recall the last thing I had purchased there.

So in the short run, I'm fine with no Sam's membership, but I'm a little worried about not being able to get a new membership if some good AmEx offer appears (or Sam's is back on Dosh).

Chrome --> Incognito mode --> Google "Amex Gold Card" --> First link shows the 50k for me

I just pulled a support link from P2 and the 50K Gold personal bonus showed up. $250 AF and $2K MSR.

I referred from P2’s BBP if that matters at all (it gets 15K referral, same as Platinum). I didn’t apply but it was tempting. I just really don’t need another AF and I have a hard time getting more than $0.01/MR. I know they can be worth much more, I just haven’t been able to make it work for us. Usually end up transferring them to Delta

Is there a trick to using IHG points? They're easy to earn since I can plastiq my mortgage. But, I can never find the room I need on points, it's always only cash. We have a tourney end of Nov and I'd really like to book a suite (2 bed + pullout), but I can only get 2 beds. Of 3 IHG hotels in the area, only that one room is what I'm seeing on points. I wanted to book through IHG rather than CSR.

It's always "reward nights not available for one or more of the selected dates".

My intentions to take a break from doing a MSR lasted about 3 days. I was denied for the Citi AA personnel back in March. I didn’t call the recon line. I decided to try for the BIz card. Instant approval 13k CL.
I’m doing well with Biz apps . I always do 0 income 0 years in business. Seems to work. I can’t wait to get to 4/24.
