Don't know what airline you're flying, but Southwest is accommodating with switching to comparable flight for free that is not scheduled to fly on a Max 8. Also, Southwest has been removing Max 8 scheduled flights on a monthly basis since earlier this year. On July 18, they removed all Max 8 schedules through Nov 2. Based on how things are going with the Max 8, high chance they will extend that to December soon sometime this month.
I am flying on SW returning home on Nov 21. Will they cancel my flight or change it to a different one on the same day? Partly why I didn't want to mess with it yet is I am waiting for my CP to come through. Right now, DH and I are each booked separately - but I want to switch him to my companion as soon as I can.

Not yet. Right now the only flights showing on United have 2 stops and I really prefer to have only one.

Earlier dates (around June 30) are showing 1 stop options so I’m hoping more options will show as available in a few days.
You mentioned that you would consider a positioning flight and I don’t know if this is feasible but direct flights to Madrid and Barcelona leave multiple times a day from Miami. This year, my sister bought tickets on Iberia for under $500 in January and I purchased for my kids for under $700 in May. Iberia shows up on the UR portal at those same prices.

I imagine it's the difference in what amazon pays to have your return processed.
Just disappointing. UPS tends to be busy and also parking is a nightmare. Closest Kohls CS area is ALWAYS a nightmare... I buy less at Kohl's because of that, in case of returns. I have returns in my car I have been putting off... guess I'll put them off until I grab my Amazon item too.

I got my HHBiz Priority Pass card in the mail today. How does that work since I already have the regular pass from my CSR? Can I somehow add this to my current account? Or do I make a separate account just for it? Not likely we’ll be able to use it next week at MCO, but just in case we get delayed or whatever. I’m traveling with my 3 kids plus 1 bonus DD. So 5 of us total and I’m the only one with PP. Would I be able to get all 5 of us in?

We get back from Germany on August 11 and my 7 year old starts in a new school on Aug. 12. I feel absolutely horrible about it but we booked the vacation before we decided to change him and the rest of the schools in Miami start on Aug 19 so how was I to know?? (this is how I tell myself I’m not such a crappy parent :)

Ah - much better today. Chatted with Citi and was George's "honor to serve" me and close my card account :D
I chatted to close mine a few nights ago. I'm comforted to know that "Citi will always be there for me" :tilt:

I’m disappointed neither of you were wished something like, “May the sunshine of summer brighten all your days ahead.”

Finally applied for the WF Propel World over the phone this morning (I’ve always been scared due to the talking to an actual person aspect of the application lol) and the rep said those magic “congratulations you’re approved!” words. (I got a rep on the first try who knew/was willing to find out about Propel World. He put me on hold and then came back and asked if I already knew about the benefits and the 40k bonus points it offers? Score!)

That said I’m hesitant to declare victory quite yet... Does anyone have experience with WF World Propel phone application process? The rep didn’t tell me my credit limit but said to expect my new card in 5-7 business days. I received a “you’ve applied” email from WF but not one about being approved. I can’t see the app status through the online tool as it won’t let me log in and it won’t send me an access code. I’m hoping it might pop up in my WF login come Monday when business kicks off again. Hearing “you’re approved” on the phone just isn’t as concrete as reading it for yourself

They won’t cancel any scheduled flights. They’ll just change the plane to the -800 if they delay using the Max 8.
There’s two options for you right now:
1. Wait until end of this month to see whether SW delays using the Max 8 another month until December. This seems like a good possibility based on how things are going.
2. Switch to another flight now before finding out whether SW will further delay operating the Max 8.

I have one transfer tentatively scheduled for a Max 8 in Nov. But I don’t have to be at my destination by any specific time, and so I will be going with option 1 and wait until end of this month to see whether SW changes the plane.

I need help. I'm about to refer DH for a CIP. He has lowered his Case credit lines to 5k per card. Should I pay off all the balances before applying? Theyre not balances that we carry, just normal monthly spend, but with a lower limit, the % utilization looks substantal. Does it matter?

SW won't be flying the MAX until Jan 2020 so if holiday flights are scheduled on a Max they will be changed. I don't know that I would pro-actively change though because if SW fixes it by switching in another aircraft you have nothing to be concerned about.

Wrong. Pulling the MAX through early Nov resulted in about 180 flights cancelled per day (out of 4000). I'm sure SW will accommodate you on another flight if yours is cancelled- but don't even count on it being the same day if you aren't flying a popular route. Also keep in mind you aren't "safe" just because your plane isn't a MAX. Your flight could get cancelled because your plane is pulled to fly a MAX route.

@TDSAXX I was just there a week a go and my view looking nothing like that. Have they filled in from like 41st down? Or is there a bit remaining between?

Are you “about” to apply as in a week or more from now? Or are you “about” to apply as in today? If you aren’t going to wait for things to update on their end then it won’t matter.

We need a new card for some spend coming up. We just finished the MSR on my CIP. I applied mid June so I think this next card will be for DH. He's currently 2/24

His Current Portfolio:

Freedom (PC'd from a Sapphire Preferred)
SPG Business
CIP
Venture
Barclay
CIU date on this one was 2/19

I'm not exactly sure what to get him next. I was thinking maybe CIC because UR points are so flexible! I currently have a companion pass so I don't think he needs to do the SW cards to go for that until mine expires. Hotel points are always nice too. Should we keep going collecting UR points or start to collect something else? I read a little about the CIP multiple times but I'm a little too nervous to try that.

Will it matter when I apply? I want to apply by Monday, but I can wait a couple weeks if need be. The plan for DH is a CIP now and then a Hyatt in late October/ early November. I just don't want a denial.

I wish there was a value option for 5, other than fam suites. I'm like you. Once I am there, I just want to rest knowing 'We're there' and tucked away nicely. Which is why I am paying for two rooms at Pop. We've also done MCO Hyatt but we still need a suite or two rooms so might as well get thyselves to WDW.

One of the reasons we bought DVC was because we are a family of 5. We loved the idea of having more space yet still staying together in one one villa instead of having two rooms.

Keep in mind for you next visit to check out DVC. There are 5 resorts that hold 5 in a Studio (so I suspect they will compete well against renting 2 rooms elsewhere). And 2 of them are 2-bath Studios (VGF and PVB)! The remaining 3 are BWV, BRV, and BCV.

I came across this post on another forum I frequent and I wanted to share here - it's probably the truest commentary on Churning ever and great for our new friends joining us here - especially the part at the end!

The first sentence of the last paragraph is exactly why most of us only like it here at DISboards: "... Miles and points blogs are in the credit card selling business." DISboards is the Best Kept Credit Card Churning Secret
