We stayed at a Kimpton property, the Nine Zero, that was within walking distance. I believe you can use IHG points for Kimpton hotels.

We stayed there, too. Pretty cool hotel in a really nice location. We were able to walk all over Boston from there.

Ok - I actually need HELP for once! :D

AA friends - explain this to me:

So my sister and husband are flying to Universal with us in November. She told me she was going to look to book on American for $264. I wanted to look at her options if I used my miles. When I click all the green boxes above, Friday is 25k miles BUT it seems I could get her first class for 25k miles. I told her those miles would hopefully be worth $225 towards Disney and she'd gladly pay ME $225 to have first class tickets vs handing over $264 to American for NOT First Class tickets. Am I looking at this right - I've honestly NEVER booked an award flight with anybody besides Southwest, lol. They have to on Friday November 1st on the 8:59pm flight - they have no other option.

Seems like a way for me to get some value out of my AA miles that's a win/win!

It looks right to me, but it's been a few years since I found a decent sAAver flight on AA, so I'd say wait for more confirmation. But it does look right for one way.

For the AmEx cardholders who have Uber Eats credits: Hooters is offering $0 (service) fee (can't remember exactly what type of fee it was, and it's deleted) today in honor of National Wing Day.

I normally eat AT Hooters for the atmosphere, but it might taste just as good at home?
.

Also - what is Business/First MileSAAver?

When I pick the flight they wanted it says this:
American Airlines
View Available SeatsMeal: Beverage service
Aircraft: 321 Opens in a new windowBooking Code: U
Total travel time: 2hr 40minClass: First

Wow I feel like such a newb!

The SAAver fares are the decent ones - the anytime ones tend to use a ton more miles for the same flight. It should show you seats at the front of the plane. Can you see them?

Mile SAAver is their cheapest award flight, so yes it looks like 24 k miles for first or biz, depending on the plane. Often the return will be higher but click thru to see the options. What seats are available? That will show you for sure.
It’s easier to book round trip if both flights are available

MAJOR DISchurners Announcement!
I am pleased to inform you that DISchurners has added THREE new female moderators.

When I created DISchurners back in the fall of 2017, I could never have envisioned DISchurners growing the way that it did (to now over 300 members). @Albort has assisted me as a mod since the beginning and @Lain was added in May of 2018 due to his substantial knowledge of churning and great contributions to our community.

A few weeks ago, I started to think about adding some additional moderators there to assist with overseeing our community. I also have noticed that we have a strong female presence on our thread, yet have no female moderators. We have selected three ladies to join the mod team and "even the scales" so to speak - all of them have been with our group since the start and are well respected in the community. We considered numerous people and it was a difficult decision due to the plethora of quality candidates, that said, please congratulate these ladies and help me welcome our newest DISchurners moderators:
Thanks to each of you for your willingness to help as mods AND thank you to everybody here on the thread for being great members of the best churning community out there!

Congratulations Ladies!!! (and I read this just after the Hooters post ... been nice chatting with y'all)

I think $400 is impressive! Even though I MS a lot I still took advantage of the swagbucks deal. I hope your back feels better!
Thank you. I can at least get off the floor now without being in excrutiating pain. Now it's only horrific pain. LOL Got my "Green Card" in the mail this week. Now I just need to be able to get in the car and drive to WalMart.
I did the same on my CIP! Just thinking out loud, at least for 1x2000 a day, as long as my second goal and bonus stay so high, I could still break even or make a few pennies. I'll keep an eye on where my second goal goes if I'm not hitting 8k per day. Not as good as $80 per day for sure. But I'd take $20 per day.
Yep, I agree.

:rotfl2:( looks like @SouthFayetteFan beat me to it)

Ok, so, story time on the hotel stay this weekend...

So we're at a Sleep Inn that's in fairly decent shape compared to what I'm used to. It's sort of in a more residential area, but right off a major turnpike and backs up to a large church. No problems Thursday night, everything was fine. Friday night/early Saturday morning, I wake up to the sound of loudly revving engines at 1:00 AM. I hear it a couple times and figure it's some morons on the turnpike on motorcycles and they'll take off and that'll be that. So I kind of doze off again and then wake back up to the same sound. It keeps going and it becomes clear that people are very close to the hotel drag racing. Finally, after about 20 minutes of hearing it off and on and waking back up, I get up and look out my window to see approximately 20 cars circling around the back of the parking lot of the church and then flooring it out of the shared entrance with the hotel. This went on for AN HOUR. I finally had to call non-emergency dispatch and they told me they had already had a report and had an officer on the way. It stopped within about 5 minutes after the call. So I was frustrated but figured it wasn't the hotel's fault there were some morons nearby.

So the next night, go to bed. Wake up at 1:30 to THE SAME THING, SAME CARS. I only let it go on for about 20 minutes before I called non-emergency dispatch again and it quit after about 10 minutes. I could tell other people in the hotel were awake and our friends were also staying there and told me they heard it both nights. They went by the front desk of the hotel Sunday morning and said something about the racing and the front desk clerk just goes "oh yeah, they tend to do that on the weekends."

Excuse me??? There are local idiots drag racing out of the hotel parking lot every weekend and y'all are just letting this go on?? Clearly they're not calling dispatch to have an officer nearby given how long it was going on. I was willing to let it slide until the front desk made it clear that this was a regular event.

Another AA question - if I book a flight in Business/First MileSAAver and cancel it, what happens?

this has nothing to do with any of you or cards---just my day

:badpc: :badpc: :badpc: :badpc: :badpc: :badpc: :badpc: :badpc: :badpc: :badpc:

You made me laugh because that has been my day too. I am usually much better and don't do this but just distracted myself from today and did retail therapy. 10% on Ebates/Rakuten with Shop Disney and free shipping today. I have to attempt to build up my MR points somehow now after the clawback right?!?

@LuckyMamaInDE I just got off the phone with Chase. They confirmed that the limit is $20,000.00 per occurrence, so you would need insurance for anything over that amount.

I am definitely purchasing emergency medical because I don't think $2,500.00 is enough (worst case scenario). Emergency medical on its own is very reasonably priced thankfully.
Thanks for calling :) I didn't get very far with checking our health insurance today to see what would be covered, ugh.
2000 Swagbucks purchase is now showing a $.99 fee on my account. :sad1: I was able to knock out $400 in just a few days towards dh's CIP MSR. (I know, peanuts compared to what @speedyfishy can accomplish, but since I have been laid out flat with my back out since last Monday I really appreciate what I was able to do!)

Congrats @Killer Fish!
Oh no, I hope your back improves soon! Is this a regular problem for you or something new?

And I should really get on the swagbucks 🚂

Absolutely  Here's to both our days being better tomorrow:dance3:

I remember liking their fries but it's been years since I've eaten at one. Not a wings fan but if they aren't as good at home I'm sure you could find some of their commercials to watch and help with the atmosphere :rotfl::rotfl:

The curly fries!! I always get it with cheese sauce. I do like their wings though but we have a fryer at home and they are better.
