Happy birthday to you all too!!! Who has the cake?
Now I need to find out who I share a birthday with so we can share 🎂:)
how is spirit airlines in general? a friend of mine wants to try it based on the price.....
I know I am not @wendow but they have the strangest program for the military. They give them free bags but they make them pay for them upfront and then when they check-in they get reimbursed and have to wait for their CC to process the refund.
Can it be upgraded to an AP? :scratchin
YES!!!!!
On an exciting and positive note we are having a second child to go along with our now almost 3 year old. Since I don't plan on traveling much until that second child is at least a bit older I plan on having points galore by the time that we need them :) . Might be on to CIP 9 and 10 by that time.
Congrats! I think we have an official winner of the I Love Credit Card’s baby challenge!!!!

So check out this email I just received from the Marriott I'm checking into on Thursday. Can't remember who just stayed here, @Alexle2007?, at 37th street in VA Beach:

Dear Guest,

The City of Virginia Beach has partnered with the Army Corps of Engineers for a $22 million-dollar beach replenishment project to protect against hurricane and storm damage. This project includes widening the beach for the entire oceanfront area. The project is scheduled to affect 37th to 38th street, Wednesday July 31st through Friday August 2nd which is directly behind our hotel. These dates are tentative as they could change due to any delays with the project.

Hotel Information:

• The beach area before 37th street and after 38th street will remain open during this process; guest can use the boardwalk for a short walk to the next available section of the beach either north or south of our hotel.

• Expect to see heavy equipment and work crews in the work site for 24hours a day, the equipment used during the beach project may cause some disturbance throughout the night.

• Complimentary ear plugs and sleeping masks will be available at the front desk.

• The sand pumped from the bottom of the ocean may leave a slight odor as it settles on the current sand.

• Air freshener is available at the front desk for you should you need to freshen up your guest room after opening the balcony door.

We thank you so much for choosing Courtyard by Marriott Oceanfront North for your upcoming trip to Virginia Beach! Your patience is appreciated as the beaches are protected from future storms. We are committed to ensuring you have an enjoyable stay. Please contact the hotel if you have any additional questions or accommodations requests.

WHAT?! Are you kidding me?! You send me this email at 4 pm on a Monday 72 hours before I check in?? I find it extremely hard to believe that you didn't know about this $22 million project more than 48 hours in advance of it starting... The last day to cancel was 7/25.

So what do we think I ask for out of this? All rooms at this hotel are beach facing, so I am absolutely going to be staring right into the face of this construction. I don't want a refund since I'm not paying for the room anyways, but I would appreciate some points back.

Congrats @Killer Fish !

I’m really proud of myself for CALLING ON THE PHONE to PC my CIP1 to a CIC this afternoon. 🏆 Go me!

Have been working on hotel plans for Europe next late spring. It’s fun, but my points totals are suffering. So sad to see them go.

How often should I try for the Aspire? Will trying for it increase my chances of having the pop up every time? DH hasn’t gotten a pop up yet, so maybe I’ll have him try for it later this year. Right now he’s working on the Cap1 Venture MSR and in a little over a month he can go for another Chase card.

For me, I have almost two months before I can try for another Chase card, same for CitiAA biz. Maybe I will go for the Barclay AAbiz. I’m a little scared to, but maybe I will try anyway. Not sure.

I hope this didn't cost too many points. That's terrible! Reminds me when we stayed at the Poly while it looked like a bomb had gone off. Disney was very secretive about just how much the construction would impact us. Is this a work trip? I'd definitely be asking for some points back.

Yes, this is a work trip, so technically no money out of my pocket. But it's still an $1100 three-night hotel stay, so this just seems unacceptable. Especially to let you know so soon. I don't really want to spend the weekend in a smelly, noisy hotel room.

Wow, I got nothing like that from them and they were definitely working on this while we were just there. I didn't notice any odor and I am a very light sleeper so I did notice the bright lights at 2-4 am. But this, also, included the sand cleaners that come through. The beach is definitely more narrow in that part. If they lose much more the ocean will be right up to the hotel.

I don't think it inconvenienced our stay or enjoyment of the hotel at all.

I was just there and I definitely wouldn't compare it to onsite construction since it is on beach 10 blocks away. We could see it from our balcony when we looked over but it wasn't our direct view.

Ah ok. I was envisioning something else since we just got back from a beachfront hotel and we were right on the beach. Construction right on the beach would have been very disruptive to our stay!!

That’s really good to know that it didn’t affect your trip. I’m worried that the email says specifically that it will be the beach from 37th to 38th though, which is literally the entire length of the hotel. So maybe the construction has moved further down and that’s why you didn’t get the email before?

On an exciting and positive note we are having a second child to go along with our now almost 3 year old. Since I don't plan on traveling much until that second child is at least a bit older I plan on having points galore by the time that we need them :) . Might be on to CIP 9 and 10 by that time.

-Residential Rent & HOA Fees

-Commercial Rent

-Taxes & Government Fees

We hope you enjoy these improvements and thank you for being a valued Plastiq customer.

1 Minute ahead of ya ;-)

To add to everyone's Plastiq emails, DoC also reported from their Plastiq contact "[Our Plastiq contact did caution me that while these categories should not have any cash advance problems based on how they are coded, it’s ultimately up to a card issuer to decide how to treat it (e.g. an issuer can decide to self-define it as a cash advance).]"

So always add that grain of salt, but it sounds like promising news for all our Plastiq users!

Just popping on here to say that I am SO GLAD there is the Reddit News Page. I am only 280 pages behind here and can "more" quickly catch up from that page. So thank you THANK YOU to all who share and post!!! :worship: :thanks:

Congrats to all the new mods! :yay::cool1:

I guess I will have to go back to looking at Swagbucks now. I stopped when the bonus for Best Buy stopped paying out.

Now to finish DH's Amex Plat MSR and decide which card is next for me. I'm thinking CIP #2. Is that still a thing?
