Oh geez, the gray hair. I'm 35 now, and I've had at least some noticeable gray hair since my early 20s. No idea why. My older brother was almost entirely gray by the time he turned 30. Luckily that didn't quite happen so fast for me, but I'm about half and half. But I'm used to it by now. A lot of people point it out and are shocked when they see just how much I really have, and I tell them it's okay, I'm simply turning distinguished much more quickly than they are.

Right now we go so last minute. It’ll be like during the week when we decide to go. I’m not sure we would ever plan far enough in advance to benefit from dvc, at least not right now.

That's one thing. It is more difficult to use if you don't plan well in advance, typically 7 month or more. We have one big family trip a year that is always planned and booked at 11 months out. We know we are likely going to F&W most weekends and will book nearly every weekend 11 months out. The rest are usually last minute or a couple of months notice when friends from around the country are coming to WDW and want to meet up for dinner or something. Sometimes we find last minute availability and sometimes we don't. This is where our BobBlah FN certs come into play. If DVC has nothing available, I have always found one of the Marriott properties taking FN certs.

We’re in Deerfield beach and went out on the pier today. Saw this dude really close to the shore :scared1:

Now I’m terrified to go back in tomorrow!!

THIS is why I don't go into the ocean! Nope, nope and nope.

You are in Deerfield Beach! The company I work for is in Deerfield Beach. If you are looking for a cool place to eat with a nice view of the beach/ocean and good food, I'd recommend JBs on the Beach at 300 NE 21st Ave.

Final part of my Seychelles-South Africa-Hong Kong trip review!

For my last day I went to HK Disneyland!!And for the night I stayed at HK Disneyland Hotel. Park: fun! And OMG I loved Mystic Manor! And a close second was Grizzly Gultch (I got on so fast I did not look at it much before boarding. The seats were like Everest level restraints and I was riding thinking “jeez this is overkill. It’s cute in a lame Big Thunder sort of- uh. What.. AAAHHHHH!!!!!!! ...Turns out the thing goes backwards). Mystic Manor is totally different from Haunted Mansion and should be in all Disney Parks. I booked a Sea View hotel room so I could get extra FPs- don’t do that. Unless it’s Chinese New Year you can walk into most everything. Surprisingly busy: Toy Story Army Men parachute drop (which I single ridered and avoided the 30 min line) and Winnie The Pooh (I pulled an old school FP for it- the hotel ones weren’t valid on that ride). Disappointing: Iron Man ride. SO disappointing. Basically Star Tours but Iron Man saving Hong Kong themed. Iron Man cannot be voiced by anyone but Robert Downey Jr. apparently because he didn’t do the voice and it ruined the whole thing for me.

Disneyland Hotel: pass. I did it because I dreamed of swimming in that beautiful indoor pool. And it was closed for “refurbishment”. They suckered me into an upgraded room because I didn’t trust my research that said I didn’t need FPs. Explorers Lodge all the way next time. The theming is much more appealing and they can’t refurb the whole theme at the same time!

I already covered my flight home in Cathay First as I could not wait to share that with you guys :)

Awesome review! The humidity and heat in HK is fierce! I'd go back but just to go to the park TBH.

OMG, I adore Mystic Manor and completely fell in love with Albert  who now comes with me attached to my ABD backpack on all of our trips. Here he is hanging out with Chandu from TDS on the way to Scotland. Yes, I'm a nerd and don't care.

I agree about Iron Man. It was awkward. We never did the Army parachute thing. Maybe next time we visit. Thanks for the tips about the hotel choices. I'll keep that in mind for the next time we decide to do all the Asia parks. We lost count of how many times we did MM though LOL Off to go read the rest of your thoughts on DISchurners. Thanks for sharing!

We’re eating at JBs tonight lol! My dh’s coworkers in Boca recommended it too. Must be good! It was off the pier by JBs that we saw the daddy shark do-do-do!

Add me to the prematurely grey crowd. Got my first one when I was 11! I clearly remember my friend announcing to my entire 6th grade classroom that I had one when she happened to be walking behind my seat and noticed it since the rest of my hair is black. I colored for years but decided I disliked the skunk look more than the salt and pepper, so I’m mostly grey now at almost 50.

OMG! That's too funny. Yes, it is really good. If I'm trying to behave myself and lose the weight that seems to keep finding me, the lobster and shrimp salad are my go to choice. If I'm in a "chunky flair, don't care" state of mind then I have no problem asking the server to just pick something since it's all good. IIRC they have a mango or pineapple mojito that was really amazing if you like cocktails that are on the fruity side. Thanks for that song now stuck in my head  Have fun!

My dh was mostly grey at 40. He got greys really early. I was plucking them from his head when we were 16yo lol! Meanwhile, I only have a few but I keep them hidden with highlights 😁

I pulled a gray hair out this week too. I showed my boss and asked her to take a personal day and she said, "Don't you think it's about time?" (I'm 42.) I said no, I don't!!!
Lucky! Been coloring my hair since my mid 20s. I go every 5 weeks - helps with MSRs!
My dad has had gray hair every since I can remember. I think he had a full head of gray hair in his late 30s
Mine too henceforth my premature grays. My friends used to ask if he was my grandfather and of course we’d laugh hysterically and run and tell him!!!!

Guys, I think TPG has really jumped the shark. I say that as a person who doesn't dislike his site (generally) and still scans daily. But some of these articles lately are just...inane. Like, be a little more subtle in trying to pump your credit cards!

https://thepointsguy.com/guide/frie...-streaming-services-and-how-you-pay-for-them/

:rotfl2:
I saw that as the top featured story when I checked the site last night and thought the same thing. Like, getting the best reward for streaming a show I don’t watch is a reason for me to sign up for a credit card from TPG. I can only imagine the editorial meeting where this story was pitched. “Streaming services!”

What’s worse is their suggestions will earn you only 2-7% in rewards on services that mostly cost around $15/month (our PS Vue subscription is about ~$50), getting me a stunning $5 back a month on my increasingly expensive cord cutting cable service and Netflix subscriptions.

I don’t know, people could buy discounted Netflix, Hulu, iTunes, Google Play, PlayStation, etc. gift cards when they’re frequently on sale for ~10-20% and earn credit card rewards. Or they could just buy gift cards to these services at Target with a REDcard for a minimum of 5% off. (But maybe I should just be thankful TPG isn’t writing about these deals and ruining them.)

Sadly, I admit I also scan TPG and MMS even though I generally dislike them to keep up-to-date on any loopholes they write about and consequently will DIE imminently.

ETA: Did you see one of MMS’s clickbait stories yesterday? “3 Ways to Earn a Ton of Credit Cards Points in the Next 3 Months”

I clicked on it thinking they’ll expose some secret trick and kill another loophole. Nope. TL;DR: (1) Signup bonuses, (2) shopping portals, and (3) referrals. There you have it folks, the secret to getting a million miles!
