Oh, @LuckyMamaInDE I also wanted to suggest the idea of your DH pc'ing his Citi card to something easy like the Double Cash card. I did that with an old Citi card I had sock drawered but is one that I've had for a long time. Nothing wrong with having a no fee 2% cash back card as a fall back for when you don't know what to pay with. Especially if his CSP becomes a CF instead of a CFU, then you'd still have a 2% all-the-time earner.

Still have not received the staples Amex credit. Had both offers ($5 back on $25 and 10k MR back on $40) added to my BBP. Bought one $50 Disney gc. Neither offer posted but both are gone from the card. Is that weird? To have the offers disappear but not credit?

Purchase posted 7/18.
Do you see it in your Savings section? I've had it disappear from offers, then show up in Savings, and then show up in the transactions list eventually.

Am I the only one who fangirls a little when one of the "famous" posters mentions me??? :worship:
Nope :) I get jazzed just with a 'like'!

Yeah, but Connor MacLeod or Duncan MacLeod?

Congratulations on the refinance!
Asking the tough questions as always  I'll just sidestep for now and go with Ramirez :p

We get a value pack of coupons every week in the mail. This week I noticed one for a free 3-month membership at BJ's. I've never been to a BJ's before, but I've seen it mentioned on here before. I looked and we have one 25 minutes away. Is it worth it for me to join to get gift cards? I can't see what the discount is on them because I don't have a membership.
Probably not for the regular pricing. BJ's will do sales on GC's periodically, including Disney, but if it's not somewhere you think you'd shop on the regular then maybe wait to use the free membership.

I once had a Total Wine offer take over 3 weeks to credit so I don’t think all hope is lost yet.

Nope. Not showing there either. Can hardly stand that I paid over face value for a Disney gc but it’s not the end of the world.
Hm, that is really weird. I've had offers take a while to post but that was over a year ago and I don't recall the offers disappearing like it was used. So that could be a change and eventually it gets corrected. Might have to wait out the full offer terms before you'll know. :( The 10k MR one should have stated "Statement credit will appear on your billing statement within 90 days after 9/30/2019" (which is what I have for the cash version). FWIW, that's what happened with the last one I had a delay with, it was a MR offer and it posted right at the end of 90 days. Hope it doesn't take as long for yours!

Hm, and now I'm in a similar boat as @wendow .

Since hubby is staying at a Marriott for work this week, I sent him with my SPG card that has the Spend $200 get $40 back offer. He'll put $200 on that card and the rest on his Marriott card (for convenience, since I'd just be transferring the points to his account anyway). Evidently he asked at check-in to put the $200 on that card, so they charged $200 on 7/21 (fully posted, not a hold) and it hasn't triggered the offer yet :confused3

The offer is still showing in my Saved offer list like it never happened. When I checked the details of the transaction it's got the stay dates listed so it should have come through correctly as room and rate charges. I think as of Tue it was still a pending transaction so maybe needs some more time after it posted? Usually it's been pretty good with the emails with just a pending charge but this is the 2nd or 3rd offer I didn't get notice. Don't know what's up with AmEx lately. I'm hoping it'll catch up eventually.

Hope yours post soon! This doubly concerns me cause Dh and I each have this offer. Planning to use next month when we’re at swolphin. I’d be pretty upset if that one didn’t post!

Hmmm I am torn. I was seriously considering opening a PNC Virtual Wallet and keeping it for the interest rates, but maybe I should do this. OR maybe I should do both :rotfl:

Ah, I'd probably go for both... but then again I'm the silly one with double digits accounts open at the moment

I did the PNC one but closed it since I'm definitely within their market so the savings rate wasn't great. If you think you can keep it free with little effort then it's probably not a bad move. How's the current rate stack up now? I know when it launched it was beating out Ally and Synchrony and a couple others.

BoA is hard to tell if this is an opening to public offers or a unicorn. Not sure if they had an offer greater than $100 out to the public ever, IIRC, and since it's got churnable possibilities, if you can swing 4k with the 5k for PNC I'd probably capture the unicorn. If it turns out they keep public offers, great, churn it later... if not, then you didn't miss out and have a churning story to tell when people reminisce

BoA gives you 90 days to meet the 4k in DDs, so you could stagger it from PNC (which is 60) if need be. But as the DoC verdict mentioned, I wouldn't wait until the last minute to decide, they might pull it early if it's too popular. If you have to decide between the two right now, PNC has been semi-regular for the last year or so, almost where it feels like a standing offer, so you could probably put it off if you have a good spot for your cash right now.

Oh, I wish I had waited!! I've been waiting a couple of years to be targeted for this (never targeted), and I did the $100 bonus a couple of months ago.
I was a DP of Serve working as a DD for the bonus. I made the deposits in April, and the bonus posted when my statement closed in May.
I'm doing the same with the BoA checking I opened for DH (again, he was never targeted either, I waited a couple years for him too), and the 2nd deposit has just posted. I'll know when his statement closes if he got the bonus or not, but that won't be until mid-August.
I thought there was someone here! I haven't had a chance to start the research yet (I think there's more DPs through r/churning than on DoC for this one). My vague recollections was payment type accounts like Serve and PayPal, possibly one of the brokerage options, were more successful than other banks. I think Serve was the most popular alternative. I wish I had waited too! Oh well, c'est la vie.

Both! I did PNC last year and kept it for the interest rates. I'm actually using it as my main bank currently. I'm planning on doing the BOA one now.
Thank you for the encouragement! I think I will!

Thank you! I am lucky that I can easily move my direct deposit around at work so I think it would be doable. Since BoA seems rare, I should probably go for that first and then go for PNC afterward. Is the SafeBalance Banking only for students? I guess BoA Plus Banking would be fine. No rush for PNC, especially since it has been around. These are the current rates I see for Performance Select in my zip code:

I also have that Chase biz checking account offer sitting on my desk, but BoA seems easier because I don't have to actually go into a branch 😂

Thanks for the chart. It expires in September so I think I’m just not gonna worry about it

So PNC is definitely better than what I had, I think it topped out at 1%, but still not as good as other online HYS. I know most are over 2% still. Looks like Discover dropped to 2.05 (had been 2.1), and they have a $200 bonus on the savings account if you can makes deposits totaling 25k. I'd not be in a rush for PNC if you had to choose.

The $300 Chase biz checking is easy enough to hit, but you'd tie up $1500 for 6 months to avoid the monthly service fees. Decisions, decisions...

As for the SafeBalance checking, it's not just for students but the only way to avoid the $4.95 monthly fee is to be a student or enroll in Preferred Rewards. When I followed the link for Preferred Rewards it stated one of the qualifications to enroll was "3-month average combined balances of $20,000 or more in qualifying Bank of America® banking accounts and/or Merrill investment accounts."
I went with the Advantage Plus for the one DD of $250 per month to waive the fee. :)

Since I was in BJ's to update the Disney sheet I poked around and noticed a good amount of GC's on sale again. I may have missed a couple, but here's a messy run down of what I saw.

Hotels .com $100 84.99
Amtrak $50 39.99
Southwest $200 174.99

Fanatics $100 $74.99
PlayStation Store $50 $42.99
PlayStation Store $25 $19.99
Spotify Annual GC $94.99
Hulu $25 $20.49
Sling TV $25 $19.99
Regal $25 $19.99
Fandango $75 $59.99
Starbucks $50 $42.99
Red Robin $25 $20.49
Chili’s $25 $20.49
Chipotle $25 $20.99
Cheesecake Factory $50 $42.99
Applebee’s $50 $39.99
Darden $75 $61.99
Cold Stone Creamery $50 $37.99
Ruby Tuesday $50 $37.99

I missed the Lowe's one's last time, I might pick those up now. BJ's takes PayPal :)

ETA: OH, and for the month of July you can get a free online only membership.
Bj's is also on eBates (1.5%) but have no idea if it pays out on GC's despite the exclusions. I ordered my Lowe's and totally forgot about it until after.

Just confirming- the CitiAA Biz Mastercard doesn't have any type of bonus categories, right? So if I have that and a CIP and I have no MSR (because I am spending PLENTY... yikes) to be worried about, I should use the CIP for a hotel stay since it has the 3x points?

The Fanatics is a better deal than the $15 off $100 I just used with AmEx. DS asked a Messi Jersey also maybe I’ll have to check out their pricing.

Yes! Definitely use your CIP for the 3x.

One more request for advice.

I am renting a car (for leisure) next weekend. I currently have the CIP and the CitiAAbizcardwiththereallylongnamethaticanneverremember. Since the purpose of the rental is not business, I am assuming I don't get any of the insurance/rental car protection that would come with either of those cards, correct?

But, I think the CIP will also still give me 3x points on the cost of the rental itself?
