I’ve technically cashed out over $5000 now paying for our September Disney trip. So while it’s not technically $5k in my pocket, it is “cash” we otherwise wouldn’t have really had to spend on this trip as we spend most of our “fun money” on horses. Good for him if it’s the right call to accomplish his goals. I’ll admit, I’ve looked at my points before and thought “I could pay off a student loan with that” lol. But, we’re still paying all our bills and enjoying our hobby, and we’re fortunately able to vacation through the use of points. So I think it works out well for us :)
Again....'cashing out'..... what exactly does this mean? I've never done it- do you simply make purchases and then use points to pay off statement, like a credit?

FYI - now both CSP and CF links are not working. "Notice - System Issue" Not sure when they'll come back but just giving everybody a heads up!

Luckily CIP links are not affected! That would really stink for those drinking from the cup...
Ok it sounds to me like the Chase site is glitchy in almost every aspect this week...portal, points transferring,links..... intentional,or updates? any clues?

.when I click on my UR points...it says “turn your 448,459 points into $4,484.59 now...after I hit...redeem now it lets me choose to deposit it to my linked bank account or a statement credit

I know it was already answered, but pretty clear it would be Pizzy #1. He can be a jerk but he gives out a lot of good information, and he posts almost as much if not more than OJ.

I got the notice yesterday that my links were removed because my karma fell to 45, go figure. So close but I don't want to venture in there this week with the Purge.
That’s when you should post a non-controversial somewhat humorous comment in a random thread and then ask all your DISchurner friends to come upvote it ;) we’ve done it before for people :D

I’m glad to know it isn’t just me! I wish they would own it (and fix it). Thank you!

Does anyone know if my mom can apply over the phone and I can still get referral credit? Thank you!
It’s possible to have her apply and still get referral credit. You’d want to make sure she uses an absolutely public link from Chase’s site (avoid some blog’s affiliate link). Then you’ll have to call Chase and give them her first name, last name and zip code.

The problem is that Chase will tell you this will work but sometimes they still don’t give you credit. They do a “review” And then send you a letter I’ve succeeded in this endeavor once and failed once.

IF she can’t wait then it’s worth a shot. If she can wait a week though the links may resolve themselves.

Exactly what @palhockeymomof2 said. I charged the last $540 I owed Disney on my new CIP and then took a statement credit for 38k URs (all I had left at the time). Once I earn more URs from the SUB for my CIP, I'll cash out the other 16k URs to cover the cost of it. The nice part about this is that the charge for Disney will count towards MSR and the statement credit won't count against me since it just acts as as payment on the card (which I know because I did this with DH's CIP2).

I’ve been happy with Ally. No fees, can connect up to 20 accounts, transfers take 1-3 business days (they tell you how long when you set the transfer). They don’t offer a bonus so you can open without fear of losing a bonus down the road.

Thank you!

Hub accounts are used to both fund new bank accounts and to hold monies after closing accounts once you/ve satisfied the bonus period, correct? Like A--->B--->A--->C--->A--->D etc? I want to understand this all before I explain it to dh

CIP3 approved overnight! I applied yesterday because I was restless without an MSR. Here are my stats in case it helps anyone:

CIP1: 7/18
CIC: 12/18
CIP2: 3/25/19
CIP3: 7/2/19
All still open. No other Chase apps since January 2018 and at 4/24 overall.

You think they’re intentionally making their site glitchy? 🤣 😛 Is this like them trying to compete with Citi or something?? Haha.
No I meant it was either unintentionally glitchy,or intentionally they're up to something, and haven't informed anyone. Like changes for the worse, etc.

you have all your biz accts separate? I had thought with each CIP (or whatever) it would just add into your original biz acct....
I didn't do it on purpose, it was more when I did CIP 2 for each of us I couldn't remember if I used middle initial or not, so it wouldn't let me add it to my account. (basically I did DHs first and he always uses MI and I never do, so I did his without and it made a new account, then I second guessed myself when I did my app and added MI  ) I SM'd and was told I could call in to do it but I would lose the account history. I had already started my spend so I didn't want to lose the history then... now that the spends are over I'll probably call and merge anyways just to keep an eye on it when the AF comes up and it's time to close the accounts.

Wait, the thing I took away from this blog post is that he could get over 2x that amount towards Apple products. HOW DO I DO THAT?!

Mine cashes out at the same rate as redeeming for Apple products. Am I missing something or does he just have 2,113,656 and is only selecting 1,000,000 for cash?! His comments don't allude to that, he makes it seem like getting $10,000 cash is easier than the equivalent $20,000+ in Apple products to resell.
He did mention in the bullet points that he considered cashing out 2 mil instead but decided against it right now. So I think he does have 2.1M, as unfathomable as that is to me

I originally opened my SPG personal 6/26/16... AF used to post 7/20, I tried bumping it back to 8/3 when they added the free night to get one though that didn't work... upgraded to Lux back in March. Well, my last minute night we booked at Dolphin Friday triggered the credit! So now that OOP expense has become $0!

It must be tied exactly to that 6/26 date? Because my statement closes today and this charge posted 6/30, but the resort fee that posted on 6/24 did not trigger it. I now have a $60 charge from the second night on AA miles plus parking fees that posted 7/1 so it will be interesting to see if tomorrow the last of the credit is triggered.

ETA: Will have to see if the AF posts tonight or at next statement close. I also got the email about my free night today. It will be interesting to see when the FN cert shows up, and how close to AF posting that is. It will be almost a full 10 weeks between my anniversary date and the 30 day deadline for canceling after the AF posts, if it posts on 8/3.

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but starting today Amazon Prime members can get $10 to use for Prime Day if the spend $10 at Whole Foods. I went to WF this morning and the email about the credit came immediately.

I'm going today and see about picking up some summer fruits. Pluots should be in season now. Funny enough, I'll be paying with a Whole Foods gift card I bought from an Amazon lightning deal for $10 off. I'm having flashbacks of churning gift cards!
