I enrolled my new Biz Plat in the Dell benefit, clicked through Ebates for a pitiful 2%, purchased a $100 Microsoft GC, and now we wait to see if the transaction posts before the end of the month. My previous purchase at Dell delivered and posted the day after purchase, so I'm somewhat confident. The reimbursement should post ~3-4 later, which will put it into the next semi-annual Dell credit period, but from what I've gathered it's the post date that matters and the reimbursement should come from the January-June credit even if it posts in July. At least that's the way I understand it, or else Amex Chat and I are gonna have words.

I'm very curious about this too. I purchased a Microsoft GC on 6/25 and the charge is still pending. For whatever reason, Dell didn't process the order until the day after, so that probably delayed things. At this point, given it's the second to last day of the month and a Saturday, it seems unlikely the charge will post before July (although it will be dated for June), so we'll see what happens with that credit.

I wish they had a meter for the Dell usage like they do for the airline credit. That way you'd know if the credit posted and counted for a specific 6-month period.

Quote isn’t working. Can’t remember who posted the original about the kitchen aid shield. I found it still made a mess so wasn’t worth it. Paid the $40 for it and used it twice. Not even sure where it is now. If you can turn it on stir or a little higher and just add in the dry slowly keeping it on helps.
Reading this just reminded me that I have one of those shields somewhere. I wonder where it is. Just goes to show you how much I use it!

I think if the transaction is backdated, regardless when it actually posts, we should be fine. I agree there should be a meter. I'll be a little skittish trying to use the Dell credit next quarter wondering if it's still available or if it counted against the June transaction.

Wow...I have leftover Home Depot cards. Maybe I'll try a Disney card purchase today.

Home Depot GCs or Happy Guy GCs? Home Depot GCs don't work for buying third-party GCs. The Happy Guy GCs worked like credit cards at the specific stores printed on the cards, which included Home Depot. So you could swipe a Happy Guy GC like a credit card and use it to buy Disney GCs, possibly until recently. Happy Cards recently added language that excludes gift card purchases, and there have been some DPs that using Happy Guy GCs to buy third-party GCs is no longer working at Home Depot.

Freaking out. Applied for the CIC and did NOT get instant approval. Should I be concerned?? What should I do?
Nope, not concerning, it's rare for a biz app with Chase to get instant approval - although we do get a good amount of pixie dust within the group here :) Just check the status line periodically, I like 800-432-3117, but might not have an update until the wee hours of Monday morning. 30 days means processing hasn't been started yet, 2 weeks is a good sign that it may be approved, but 7-10 days means they are sending a letter. The letter could be a verification thing and a quick call can fix it or it can be a denial.
In July, DH's would have had his CSP for one year. I want to PC or cancel the card as we don't need it (I have CSP). Should I wait until the AF posts? Or can I do this on the one-year anniversary date?
Up to you but as long as you hit the anniversary you can PC it any Chase card (freedoms/sapphires/slate). Before the anniversary you can only PC to the plain Sapphire. So whatever you're comfortable with.

No biggie then. I can always use them to buy the oil and filter unit, or some other home thing. I only have a few $25 cards so just chump change, but I can always use Disney cards.

Reddit users, what do you use to browse Reddit? I have the app on iOS but it’s very basic. I can’t pick up where I left off after reading a few posts in one of the lengthy daily discussion/question threads. There’s no good search option that I’ve found. It’s useful to save comments but that’s about all I can figure out.

My Chase Marriott Biz card free night showed up a couple of weeks ago on 6/17. No annual fee yet. Card is a year old and must have had a deferred annual fee as I've never paid one. (Checked all 3 of my statements!) It's sock drawered. This annual fee thing is weird on the Marriott cards. Guess it will come in July. Maybe??

My Marriott personal posted an annual fee of $95 in June. I had gotten my original sign up bonus, 50K for an upgrade offer, the upgraded free night on my anniversary of 12/25/18. I paid a fee of $85 on applying and was refunded $95 also with the upgrade. So, for an actual $85, I've gotten 150K points and a free night so far, plus $37.00 in offers I cashed in.

Compare that to my Amex personal spg Marriott card: paid annual fee for 19 years. Anniversary was March - finally got my first free night in May after about 9 weeks. Mitigated by numerous offers that I've cashed in on.

I cancelled my CIP about a week after the anniversary date in May ..but before the AF posted on 6/1

I plan to wait until after the anniversary date and probably PC, not cancel. Do you know if I can PC via SM?

I actually prefer browsing reddit on iOS because I can tap down to quickly read the comments, and I love infinite scroll (maybe too much). I can't deal with all the quirks of the website and inconsistencies between the new version and old version. But posting on a desktop browser > iOS because of better formatting options. For searching, use redditsearch.io

For sure need to get one of those guard things for my kitchenaid, had a bit of flour to clean up since I was doing a double batch. Only put in 1/2 cup at a time so it wasn't too bad but enough. Do any of you have one of those? Does it work well? I have a hinged mixer with a metal bowl.
Mine came with one, and it just ended up being extra work and stuff still got everywhere. So I never use mine anymore. It just seemed like one more thing to deal with. I haven't been using mine much since we are all doing low carb stuff these days, and I miss baking.

I can't pour it in while it's moving without making a huge mess, I've tried. I can hand mix and make a mess :) Not uncommon for a dog to end up with flour on them along with myself :rotfl2: It also isn't kept just to baking, I also have issues stirring on the stove and not making a mess.
I have a shield but found that I am messier when using it!

We haven't been using the mixer that much lately because we have been making sourdough bread. Dd is learning how to bake bread to have at school--food allergies prevent her from buying most commercial breads. She won't be able to rely on a stand mixer in her on-campus apartment.
I like the paddle that scrapes and you can put in the dishwasher. So much better than the one that came with mine.
I haven't tried one of those yet but am intrigued.

For the Biz card we had the first year AF waived. Chase charges the AF the first of the month after anniversary, so you'll see it July 1.

I can't believe we're going to pay the $99 to keep it. Was going to use it just for the free points and night, but with AmEx raising the AF on the biz card higher than that it makes more sense to keep Chase's (plus it's hubby's card who actually has status). Things change quickly in this game.

Our family loves the Wave. We go every trip, great filet mignon! I read that they may close and change it to a steakhouse with characters. I hope it stays the way it is!
I would be very upset if they did that. They already have chef mickey’s they don’t need another character meal there. Dh and I don’t do character meals. We both ate the beef short rib and it was so good. I could go back and eat it again today lol

I don't keep up with the rules and my spreadsheet is pretty sloppy. But I also don't have that much to keep up with and can usually figure out what's going on by going on the page and reviewing the statements, so I was actually surprised I hadn't paid an annual fee yet. I spent a lot in June so I wanted to have a heads up on any extra charges, so was reviewing all my annual fees because many hit in June, July and August.

Oh well, if I going back to under 5/24, I don't have to worry about collecting any more fees as I'm now pushed out even further since my last application for the NFCU Flagship back in April. Unless I start the AA business card route with Citi. Kind of staying clear of that one.
