I love credit cards so much! v2.0 (see first page for add'l details)

I use YNAB and have pretty much the same setup as you. I love it and it saves me so much time over my previous spreadsheet. I still keep a sheet to track credit cards (new, existing, closed), credit limits, and MSR/SUB but that doesn’t need constant updating.

Yes, and I like that I can see all spending on a single account in YNAB and easily tell how close I am to meeting my MSR. Like you, I have a spreadsheet that I occasionally update to make sure I'm not missing anything.

Hmmm....so it doesn’t look like my property tax posts until 7/1/19 but the taxes have been the same amount for the last 2 years. Do I just use that amount to take advantage the Plastiq promo?
Hopefully your city/town will not do what mine did last year when I sent a tax payment before the bill posted. They returned the plastiq check to me. It freaked me out because the plastiq checks have that language on them about being deposited within so many days. Evidently, that's not the case and I worried for nothing. When the bill finally came I sent them back the plastiq check and it was deposited.

My only question is by card does it mean debit card or credit card... DHs account has a card option but it is debit only.

Otherwise I have now put thousands of dollars in payments on our car loans through Plastiq with no issues :D

Another good question - I'm going to try tonight and I'll let you know. I did notice that when I clicked on pay off in full, it said debit card, but when I clicked on one time payment, it didn't specify.

It looks like he just got CIP2. I would definitely not go for a double dip so soon for him. Have you told us the spacing of all of both of your cards? That might help also. You are usually locked out of Sapphires after getting one of them, but with the double dip there is a way to apply for them both within a set amount of time to get both. Are you sure you don't have any kind of side business? Selling old clothes or anything? Because him referring you to the CIP would give you the most points, especially if you are 4/24 right now. If you just want one of the Sapphires, I think the best bet would be to get a CSP and then refer the other to get more points. Then you could upgrade one of them to CSR after a year.

Yes he got CIP2 6/3. I wish i had some type of something, but i have nothing lol. Maybe I can start selling on Ebay :confused3. How long should we give it before DH tries for the CSR or CSP?

4/18 Amex HH

With Chase it’s recommend you space out applications about every 3 months....so 9/3 for your DH
Since you are considering starting an eBay business....you could apply for the CIP from one of your DHs support links

After a year of resisting business cards because I have no business, I gave in to temptation and got 2 CIP's and one for DH so far. When you apply for CIP, you have to attest that you are only going to use it for business charges. My convoluted reasoning was that since there is obviously no way I could put $5000 spend on a card even if I had a side business, that I was OK fudging the other stuff. It's all a matter of what your conscience tells you, 12 years of Catholic school was hard to overcome!

Agree with @palhockeymomof2 and @bernina that CIP is your best bet. You may also want to look at the AA cards that people are getting to pay Disney rooms with. Is there a reason why you are paying a fee on 2 Disney Premiers? I would downgrade both of those (obviously have to wait till October to downgrade DH). After you do your spend on both CIPs you will be probably be ready to look at the CSR or CSP. Give yourself about 3 months between Chase apps.

Dh received a Citizens Bank mailer today ($400 or $200, depending on the account type, plus $100 for 5 debit transactions) but I cannot find any info in the fine print about how long the account would need to be kept open :coffee: It just says "have a qualifying direct deposit post to the new account within 60 days of the account open date" and one cannot have had an account within the past 6 months.

Who has done a Citizens Bank bonus?
I believe it let me cc fund too. Up to 1k

DP from last week when someone tried to open an account they weren't given a CC option.

So don't bank on it. One of the accounts I opened was reported to have CC funding, and some people could CC fund, but for me and others we weren't given the option when we opened. :confused3 (I forget which bank it was, I did like 3 around the same time :ssst:) Fingers crossed it's still available :)
Citizens worked great for me last year on the CSP but I've seen sporadic reports of it coding as a CA on reddit but I don't think any were Chase cards.

Daughter's 2 kids have hyphenated names. I add them to our Disney and some airline reservations. Not enough room for the names on many applications. And on airline reservations you end up with a hodgepodge name. I'm not sure what the compromise is here.

Yeah... the hyphenated kids thing could get messy real quick. If everyone had that mentality, then when their kids got married, their kids would have 4 last names!

I guess you could just say you’re from Mexico, then it wouldn’t be weird to have 4 last names. :rotfl2:

Reposting @Andysol's r/churning post here, because it's an awesome exercise of travel hacking an Egypt trip on your own that's comparable to (and actually based on) ABD's Egypt itinerary:

I appreciate the plug. I forgot to add ~28k MR/person cashed out via Schwab for fees and cruise to make it “free” with points, but just did.

I’ll have a few trip reviews later this year that also follow some ABD itineraries with point breakdowns. Canadian Rockies, Japan and Peru. All with some small points related tweaks (like staying 5 nights at a place vs 4 for the free night, etc).

My wife calls them “Adventures Like Disney by Andy”

I think we might just wait it out then. I thought with the reservation system maybe but without that I don’t really want to fight the crowds.

We will be there on opening day. I just want to witness madness and mayhem.

Just got an email for Hyatt cardholders for a promo to get 10% of your points back on points stays between July 1 and September 2.

Patiently, not so patiently waiting until April when I'm under 5/24 for the first time in forever to get the Hyatt card.

Yes there is a reason i am paying a fee on 2 that reason being that i was waiting to downgrade DH and kept mine because it has Tinkerbell on it lol. Ok yes i know I have to downgrade both especially since im using other cards that give me the same or better reward.

I have seen AA cards are being talked about on here alot recently. Do their points allow for paying DL rooms? I was looking at Amex cards since DH keeps getting offers for them.
