Ok - I can't believe this hasn't generated any buzz yet...so I'm going to post some thoughts:

SELF-REFERRAL IS POSSIBLE ON POTENTIALLY ALL CHASE CARDS THAT OFFER SUPPORT LINKS!

You heard me right - when you have any Chase card you now can refer yourself to any other Chase card that offers a support link.

I'm going to try to type more thoughts and instructions on how to do this soon. This is pretty huge news!!

I generated support links for the various Chase cards and have them pointing back to my CSR. I should get UR points if someone uses it. Looks pretty nice if it works out. To be able to get UR points when referring to say an IHG card is a win.

Had a small heart attack as I tried to make another $1800 payment towards DHs loan on my Plastiq account to finish CIP MSR.. and it got declined. I felt like, they're on to me! Because his loan is through a CU. But I was able to just do the last $200 on his CIP MSR. Hoping it's just because I already made a $1800 payment on that card today...

ETA: D'oh, it's because I got a $5k limit on my 2nd CIP. DH is the one that got $9k again.

ETA 2: Alright, scheduled a payment so will try last $1800 on my CIP when that posts. Hoping for tomorrow.

i read it again, it seems to me you get the points of the original offer... so u would get IHG points(referral+SUB) and not UR points. Thats what ive gathered.
@SouthFayetteFan can you confirm?

I've paid an additional $4500 towards the trip since then, all of which I've paid myself back for with cashed out URs. All payments were made on either CIP for 3x or CSP for 2x on travel while I was meeting MSR on those cards.
Thanks for sharing. Really helps. Can you explain how you received CIP 3X on the payments for your trip? I'm unclear on that piece. Thanks

Honestly I think the bigger takeaway here is that anybody with at least one of the 12 Chase cards will no longer need to use support links. This may effectively kill a lot of support clicks. As soon as somebody gets 1 card, they are basically set.

The answer to your question is you get the points in the currency of the card you referred FROM (not the card you referred TO) so in this instance you could get URs for referring an IHG card.

I just posted a guide which I will continue to update as I learn more. I'd REALLY like some people here to test this and let us know if it actually works. There are mixed reports, some saying YMMV on whether this actually tracks.

I know most here are under 5/24 and this is a bad offer for those, but did anyone see this NLL public offer for the Amex no-AF Hilton? This seems super risky to me, but I've already had the no-AF Hilton years ago and I was interested in getting another for upgrade offers anyway, so I pulled the trigger yesterday. It went pending and I was approved today. Took the temp card number and paid a portion (ugh) of our rent, so I will know very soon if the 75k points post.

Basically it's RIP to support links as long as you know about it. There will always be new ppl to the game so it is still good to put the links out there. I've only had 1 random person use my support links so it won't really affect me.

CHASE SELF-REFERRAL AND CROSS-REFERRAL GUIDE:
https://www.reddit.com/r/DISchurners/comments/blgqrb/chase_selfreferral_and_crossreferral_guide/

I wanted to create a guide on DISchurners that can be a resource and I can edit and update.

Please read the guide there but we can keep the discussion on the topic here.
A follow up comment...

I would always try to refer across spouses when possible. There's no reason to self-refer when you can spouse refer. Also, if the spouse holds the card you want, I'd consider whether it's best to refer directly from that card. (i.e. Refer P2 to a CSP from P1's CSP - rather than across cards).

Some random examples:
1) I want to apply for a CIP. I have a CIP and my wife has a CIP. I would use my wife's link over my own.
2) I want to apply for a CIP. I have a CIP and my wife does not. I would use my own CIP link over cross-referring from one of my wife's other cards (seems safer to use the direct CIP link vs. a cross-refer which has a chance to not track)
3) I want to apply for a CIP. Neither of us currently has a CIP open. We both have a CSP. I would use my Wife's CSP link (turned into a CIP link) vs. using my own link.

So one of the mods from r/churningreferrals is disputing that this works. I trust the person and they said they've tried it exactly as described and it did not track. This is definitely something we want to get DPs on. I'm sure with a lot of our folks maintaining a <5/24 status here that we'll have some opportunities to test it out. If you're going to attempt this, please reach out so we can make sure it's done correctly. Then it could take us 6-8 weeks to prove if it works or not. I'd hate to stop supporting each other only to see these points not post. If that happens, then Chase is the only one that wins since they stop paying out!

Everybody please report back on if you try this at all! If this is a sham I want to shut this down over here, lol!

I guess i’m oficially no longer a chicken churner. Was afraid to apply for business cards for about two years. I lowered all my credit limits last month and applied yesterday for a CIP. Was at 30 days immediately afterward, but Just got home from work, called, and have been approved. Now I’m only a chicken regarding that huge $5000 spend, but I do have some ideas for it.

So you spent like hell and reapplied about 1 month later? I can totally do that!!!!!

Thanks! I’ll see what some spend does. Can’t hurt.

@Lain is right about it seeming really variable. I also got the pop up for DH when tried to get Gold in December. I did not put any spend on his Delta personal which he had forever but did start putting between a couple hundred to $1000 on his 2 other cards. (Delta Biz and an upgraded personal SPG to Lux). I did that for maybe 3 months and then tried again for the BBP. Approved with no pop up and bonus posted without issue. So I don’t think it needs to be a huge dollar amount; seems to me at least some consistent spend.

On the crowd calendar issue after going all times of year for the last couple of years I have found that the main thing is to avoid parks with EMH (or use and then hop out of that park) and avoid certain parks on certain days. I.e. no MK on Monday, Wednesday, Saturday. Avoid Epcot weekends during food and wine etc. Arrive early, take a break, stay late.
