EDIT: (I realize I did not specifically answer your question...but I would NOT use TP to schedule my park days based on what I've read...I would consider reading some of EasyWDW's posts on "which day is best" at each park though :))

People are welcome to formulate their own opinions...I side with Josh as he presents some good logic. I don't want to get into an argument here over crowd calendars so if anybody here disagrees with Josh (and thus me), I am not offended. Here's some examples for those interested:

This post from March 2019 has some commentary on their issues and some updates they did on about a week's notice in January: https://www.easywdw.com/easy/blog/walt-disney-world-early-2019-crowd-and-wait-time-trends/
A few of my favorite excerpts from that post: Imagine being four days away from your vacation, expecting to enjoy one of the ten or twelve least crowded days of the year, only to find out that your visit now falls on one of the busiest days of the year. And paying $15 for the privilege.....The 56-minute wait that we saw on the equivalent date in 2018 is clearly above average. It’s higher than the average for any month. Despite that, TouringPlans is still predicting a crowd level well below average. At least until six days before the date when they let you know that crowds are going to be much heavier than originally predicted....If you follow touringplans.com, then you’d know that they make a new excuse for why their crowd calendar is so bad every three or four months. Sometimes it’s ride capacity. Sometimes it’s weather. This time around, it’s not that their numbers are bad: It’s that the Park’s numbers are bad According to TouringPlans, Animal Kingdom’s posted wait times are off by an unprecedented amount. Keep in mind that they’re virtually the same as last year.
And there's a lot more great commentary that sort of pokes holes in how they analyze things.

Here's a post from April 2019 where he briefly discussed how they completely missed the best week of spring break this year and instead predicted crowd levels of 7-9 during what was probably the slowest week out of all of March/April (but to their credit at least their honest and report openly that they stunk, lol!): https://www.easywdw.com/easy/blog/disney-world-easter-week-magic-kingdom-morning-touring-plan/

This post is the famous November 2014 "touring plans takedown": https://www.easywdw.com/easy/blog/t...world-wait-times-and-a-touringplans-takedown/ with a great amount of detail about just how wrong they can be.

One of these articles talks about how they are still using data from 2011, 2012, 2014 (yeah, wait time data from before FP+ even existed)...MORE data does not always mean BETTER data people! LOL!
Being there at RD pretty much has worked for our family over the years. I used to read Unofficial Guide and print out the maps and then used the TP app. I found when I optimized, I wasn't always in agreement just based on what I know from experience so I'd switch it back. The last few trips I used TP for the best days to visit (but again being there at RD and utilizing FP+ probably covered any incorrect crowd calendar data) and the reservation finder. Love the reservation finder. That alone is worth the 11.95 to me. FP4me.com was also very helpful for helping me get FP for my DD and her friends' spur of the moment spring break visit.

I see Walgreens is listed at 20% cash back. Do you have any idea if that works in store on gift cards? I’ve never used their cash back offers. Thanks!

Generally, GCs are excluded from earning cash back. YMMV, as I've had GCs credit before, but that's always the exception to the rule. I wouldn't buy any GCs expecting to get cash back from Ebates.

Just so you know the reservation finder is free. You don’t have to pay for an account to use that

Just put in the official last payment on my car via Plastiq, bringing my CIP MSR to $3200.

Needless to say, but keep us updated about any changes to how Plastiq codes on CIP. DID NOT APPRECIATE DOC TWEETING ABOUT THIS THE OTHER DAY, because derrr "People already posting it all over the place." :badpc: At least DoC hasn't posted about it on the website, and I haven't seen this item pop up on any of the blogs covered by milesfeed... but who knows how long this'll last.

Thansk @Lain for tagging me - I'd like to share some specific thoughts for this user but also some general comments that I think could benefit all of our friends here...

First off @wed100105 I am confused - did you get the CIP in 03/19 or 02/19? Your comment just before this said March but this says February? (This has nothing to do with my comment to follow, just make sure you are being SUPER accurate with these dates as people giving you advice will assume you are listing them correctly).

At any rate, earlier this week you seemed set on the fact that you would not get a lot of use out of the SW CP in 2020 and you had decided to not do it this year.

You are falling into a trap that ALL of us fall into from time to time (ugh...that Citi Hilton card I got back in May of 2015.....) and that is Churning FOMO! These new shiny "best ever" offers come out and you just have to have it! (I am not saying this in a demeaning way, it literally happens to all of us). Here's what you need to remind yourself:
  • The Companion Pass has a limited shelf life...you get it for the rest of this year and all of next year. The earlier in the year you earn it, the better!
  • The Companion Pass value is both unlimited and also worth nothing! (Huh???!!?) What I mean is...
    • You could earn your your CP on Jan 1st and use it everyday on a $500 flight for the next 2 years and it would be worth $365,000! (although you'd have to also buy $365k in flights to make that work...but you get what I'm saying, lol!)
    • OR you could earn your CP in July and use it on 3 round trip flights (say $400) over the next 18 months and get $1,200 in value out of it.
    • OR you could earn a CP and never use it, and it was worth $0 to you
  • 60,000 Points on SW personal cards are exciting - yes, absolutely! BUT there is a 50k offer available through in-flight links all year round. And the 60k biz offer is their standard offer now. So while FOMO says "Oh no, I'm missing out on 120k SW points and a CP"...you're potentially only "missing out" on 10k SW points. Wouldn't it be better to earn that CP in early 2020 and have it for 22+ months and then make full use of it in 2020 and 2021? 10k SW points are only worth ~$150 which the longer duration (and better planning) for a CP could blow that away!
@SouthFayetteFan's Summary Comment on the Updated 60,000 Point Southwest Offers (this is for anybody considering this): Don't get caught up in FOMO here. If you were planning to earn CP in early 2020 then stay the course. Don't let 10,000 SW points change your strategy! By the same token, if SW cards weren't on your radar at all OR if you don't go for Biz cards, perhaps these offers are worth considering. In general, I'd consult with the thread here on your situation and we'll be happy to help.

@wed100105 - It's hard for me to state with certainty what you should do here...BUT IMHO, I don't think 10k SW points should change your approach that you decided on earlier this week, I'd pass at this time... (Or if it's the right move, I'd go for it, LOL - just not solely because this offer popped up)...

Interesting that you highlighted SW specifically for the FOMO warning. I've been planning to get 2x SW cards this fall ever since we did the CP for my P2 (cards in 2017, met spend in January 18, been using CP in 2018/2019). Although we got good value from the RR points and CP over the past 2 years, I'm going to hold off a year before doing it again. I just don't see us using the CP much in 2020, so I think I'll hold off and use the /24 slot for something else in the meantime. To your point, it seems like a great deal, and it can be, but it isn't always.

Some assorted DPs from r/churning:

5/2 GCM order coded as 1x on CIP

4/30 Venmo (same date as OP's Plastiq payment) posted as 1x, no bonus on CIP

There are more recent attempts to test these coding, so I'll keep you all updated if anything changes.

Generally, GCs are excluded from earning cash back. YMMV, as I've had GCs credit before, but that's always the exception to the rule. I wouldn't buy any GCs expecting to get cash back from Ebates.

Just a question - do you sleep? You're on the left coast, right? Its really early for you to be posting, my friend.

Oh, I feel really stupid now. Thanks for the information. Do you know if you can do the room search with the pics w/o an account? Then I'll probably be gone. :thanks:

Lol!

I wish I could get more sleep. But when the fam is asleep, I can get some actual work (or at least my things) done; and when I am asleep, well, my kiddo still wakes me up at odd hours occasionally, and I have a terrible time trying to get back to sleep once I’m up.

Yeah, somehow kids know which parent will not be able to get back to sleep, and invariably that is the parent they bug in the middle of the night. I did it to my dad, my kids do it to me, and my kids also go to my dad, if they are staying with their grandparents. I've been known to get up and do work at 3am if my sleep gets interrupted (and then my coworkers think I'm insane).

Anyone have any ideas why Cardcash is still holding on to the $1 Paypal authorization I did 10 days ago? It's still showing as pending in my Paypal account :sad2:

Yeah. :badpc::badpc::badpc:
Will keep an eye on it. Plan to do the last $1800 of my CIP MSR today, since they took it away from me before I could get my first CIP (remember that? Got DHs CIP in May, used toward car loans with Plastiq, got the 3x... then it went away, and the whole time my CIP MSR plan that I wasn't eligible for until Oct was to use Plastiq with car loans... still did, but this feels like a second chance! lol).

sometimes it’s id verification
I hope so. Im going to have him call tonight. I really want this card. I wonder if it's his big credit lines on personal chase cards (old ones...he's under 5/24). Maybe we should have reduced them before applying.

It could be..how much credit does he have with Chase on both personal and business cards

to add to this, sometimes adding a single item will trigger it entirely... lol.

Hmm interesting. You can self refer to any chase card?? From Reddit.

Chase referrals can actually work across products like Amex. This has been in effect for several years.

Get your referral link for any card you have from mobile app. Example, CIP. The link should have 10 numbers at the end.

Find the mobile app version of a referral link of any other card. You can use someone else's as a template. For example, CSP. Put your 10 digits on the back of the link.

Now you have a referral for that other card. The CIP can have a link for CSP, Freedom, Southwest, and others. You get points as if you had the card that was referred TO. For example if the person got approved for Freedom you would get 10k UR points, not 20k like CIP to CIP. But if you had a Freedom that referred to a CIP, you'd get 20k.

Points will not go pending like usual when you do this. They will post straight to balance at some point in a few weeks.

Update: actually the APP version of the link not desktop. Desktop one doesn't have 10 numbers.
