Same here, using it at a Fairfield in Hershey on a Saturday night in the middle of summer. So return on the redemption is good - $300 room for $95 - but crazy and boring at the same time.
If I was really going for highest return I would have picked the Courtyard down the road that's going for $500 that night, but I'm not sure why? Doesn't even get free breakfast

Please don't bother with the Courtyard. I made the mistake and stayed there instead of the Fairfield like we typically do. Totally not worth it. I am curious which hotel is being built across from the Fairfield.

I am going to give a plug for Devon's Steak and Seafood right in town. It is fabulous!!! And we love Duck Donuts too!

But, are you guys Marriott Platinum? Then you would get kitchen credit or whatever its called - cupboard? We got $20 in Ocean City!I don't particularly care for Fairfield breakfast, but I can't say I left hungry.

Thank you!!!! Same here. I checked at some point yesterday and it wasn't there. They ninja-ed it in there. 61 days from the email. I went back and calculated @Alexle2007 's timeline and 62 days there as well. Ugh, having to wait 60 days is crazy if this is the new norm.

For Amex, I guess. I have 3 SPG cards with them...I mean Bonvoy, and 2 with Chase. Chase are day off. So now I'll just calculate getting them 2 months late - I went March 2 to May 2 = 61 days, but it came so late I could call it 62. Essentially 9 weeks. The email did say 8-12 weeks and I guess they are early by their definition.

Today was apparently THE DAY for these. I got mine too- already applied it to a good/insanely boring redemption. We are flying out of the San Jose airport on an early flight, so our last night of our CA trip will be at a Spring Hill Suites at the San Jose Airport, which would have cost $550 for the night!!! Way more than any of the other (much nicer) hotels that we are staying at during our trip. Shows the difference between mid-week and weekend in the Bay Area. No question that its a good use for a 35k certificate!

You guys made me go check - I got my Lux FN certificate overnight too! And DH got his FN certificate overnight as well!

For me, it was 37 days since AF posted on the Lux. It was 65 days since AF on my Biz Amex, and 38 days since AF on DH's Biz Amex. Maybe they are starting to award the FN certs at the beginning of each month?

Thank you all for the kind words and concerns - DH got the results of his MRI and the nodule that was found was benign.

Like @1st*toright I will apparently have a lot of spend to reimburse myself with... gotta love an HSA I guess. I am blessed to have the funds to do this and I feel for those who do not.

@Lain - I loved your post about your dreams for a Japan trip. I do not have kids but I would wait until your DD is a little older too - it's a long flight and a lot of money/points. You want to make sure she remembers it/enjoys it as you say.

I am always so impressed with all the trips everyone takes here - and that they take their kids. I never got to go on any vacations as a kid. My parents did not have the money. So now I am trying to make up for lost time I guess.

@calypso726 Thank you for sharing the prices for ABD Egypt. Maybe someday! Although when I told DH this trip was announced, he said "Oh are they taking armed guards wearing Mickey ears?" I just shook my head.

So glad that everything looks ok - that is just fantastic news. Being able to shrug and pay medical bills really is a privilege - imagine having the stress of knowing you were going into debt in addition to the worry about someone being ill. We aren't rational consumers of healthcare, its not like you can decide not to go to the hospital like you decide not to go on vacation. Anyway, glad all is well in your world and you get a day to breathe a little bit.

I don't get why Courtyards are so expensive. With Platinum status you get $10 per person, per day, which might get you breakfast, but its not like they are so much more comfortable/better located than Fairfields or Spring Hill Suites. Of course, I'm spending $300 for a night at a Fairfield in the Boston area next week (out in the 'burbs), but my company is paying for that so I don't care (proving my point, I think).

Wow, it also states if you cancelled less then 48 hours prior to your reservation, you get charged full price. Imagine if a child gets sick and you need to cancel? I wonder if you cancel, does Disney then sell your spot to someone else? Probably and then they get paid twice.

Disney is very understanding if a member of your party gets sick and they won't penalize you if you need to cancel within the 24 or 48 hours period before a reservation. Of course Disney will free up your reservation for someone else who's been desperately trying to score that ADR, so the decent thing to do is to call and cancel as soon as you know you won't be able to make it -- don't just not show up because then you'll definitely be charged, explain your situation, be kind to the phone reps, and they can be amazingly understanding and helpful.

So I call and I have no retention offer and omg this was the most awkward phone conversation of my life. She was like I see you have another account with us and I was like oh yeah that’s the one my husband uses. (I really have 3 personal cards) Then she was like let me move your credit limit over to that account and I was like no thanks. Then she was like you still have the balance transfer offer on this account do you want to use that and keep it open. I was like no thanks I don’t carry and balances and she was like WOW that’s impressive. I am using chat from now on.

Glad the MRI showed the growths were benign.

My father was in the military so every two or three years road trips to the new duty station then road trips to mid- MO in the other years for “vacation “ visiting relatives—probably why I hate road trips AND try to get to Europe (or cruise)as often as possible- no long car rides!

Sooo I used my support link for my husband's CSP application, he was auto-approved on 4/1/2019, now it's been a month and I see no points posting for my support link point..... Should I be concerned? Or am I not supposed to get points until he completes his MSR?

Also I haven't gotten $100 statement credit after my Delta purchase from my Amex Delta Plat, it's also been a month.
It is strange since bonus mileage posted in a few days after I completed MSR.

I'm usually great with phone calls, but the call I had with them to cancel my card was so awkward. I told her I wanted to cancel and she was like "oh really? You've only had this card a couple months, why do you want to cancel so soon?" So I was just like "uhhh too many credit cards, trying to par them down..." The retention offer they gave me wasn't great either. I can't remember exactly, but it was like 1000 miles a month if I spent $1000 each month for 6 months? Something really weird like that.

We didn’t know about auditions before she app’d for her CP so she missed them. She is going to audition soon for an extension as a character. Would be a dream come true! She REALLY wants to be Tink. I want to see her fly from the castle. Not sure if all Tinks get to do that or not.
