Did y'all get a $100 offer? I got a $50 SC offer which I figured wasn't worth bothering with. The upgrade form still shows $50 as well.
Yeah. I got the $100 offer in the mail a month or two ago in the mail. I just checked my email today and only saw the $50 (or $49?) offer. I decided to call and the CSR said I was still eligible for the $100. Might be worth a call to Chase. The Chase Disney rep I talked to was super friendly and Disney-like too. Very easy and pleasant transaction.

I got a mailer for the $100 on Friday. I had multiple mailers and e-mails for the $50 prior.

@DrFacilier called and got it. Maybe call and check the offers available? I can get you the website on the offer I got later when I get home from work.

I am alternating between reading the thread and catching up YNAB... just realized I messed up our Disney stay for using my Arrival Plus credit! I paid the deposit on mine, $203, then we paid $250 on DHs because he has around $230 in credit to use up... leaving a balance of $81! D'oh! oh well.
Crisis semi-averted! I have a bunch of charges from speculatively booking and cancelling Disney reservations for this trip and this Labor Day too... so I just redeemed against two of them that added up to the total :)

:offtopic:PSA since so many of us are parents on this thread and I’ve just spent countless hours with more to go plus some of my own funds but next week is staff appreciation week. Even if you don’t get your child’s teacher a gift, please consider writing him/her a heartfelt thank you note which I am sure would be much appreciated for what is sometimes a very thankless job.

I have an awesome Harry Potter themed week planned for DS’s teachers since this is his final year with them. Since my week will be filled, I’ll actually be getting his teacher team lunch the following week but will apologize profusely for the delay. I am so excited for next week!!!!

I’m VERY new to messing with this, and I have only done loads at WM. But I tell them the total amount, and then after that I tell them the amount for the first one and I do that, and then the amount for the next one automatically comes up. I feel like I have read the limit is four swipes, I have only done 2 at a time.

I’m glad to see that there are so many of us playing with this though! This is a MUCH nicer place to ask for tips and experiences!
Oh great, thanks so much for sharing your experience! I know what you mean, I don't dare ask on reddit. This place is the best :)

Get the email from AmEx saying I'll get my free night cert soon and I'm all like
raw

8 weeks later.....

What the Hades AmEx? Apparently I should have booked it on a points advance while it was still an option. I have the points but not enough for this one night and the 5 nights worth I want to transfer. Guess I'll have to transfer, and then points advance if the cert still isn't here. Grr.

*sigh* That card is waiting for me when I get home to make a $5k spend on and it’s questionable if I’ll even get the right bonus.... Now to decide if I say screw it & close it right away in order to hit the bonus on another card.

Normally I’d be rather pissed but I’m in the Seychelles right now and it took me about 5 seconds after hitting the ground to slip into Island Mode.

View attachment 398318 Cheers all! Ooh! I flew Q-Suites so I’ll do a little write up on that in the next few days :)

It’s been raining most of the day. Was POURING on arrival and lots more rain in the forecast but I got lucky and caught a break this evening. Next storm is coming in and I know I just shared a photo but I think this is one of the coolest I’ve ever taken so I’m sharing a second one. Keep chasing points and dreams DISchurners!

And just like, that Seychelles is on my list. That looks amazing! Can’t wait to hear about Q suites and your thoughts on Seychelles. Enjoy!

P2 approved for CIP#2 today with self referral!

Also, I had luck finally at Dollar General loading my Serve card with MCGC's from Staples. Only let me do $500 though. Hitting up another one after work!

"Hi...I want to reload my Serve card" (Dollar General will swipe it for you, Family Dollar you can swipe yourself)
"Please swipe you card...great...how much would you like to add?"
"$500 please!!!!!!!"
"Great...go ahead and swipe!" (VGC or MCGC and enter the pin).."Thanks have a nice day!"
You then run outside and :car::car::car: to the next location.

You will get an email that funds were added, along with the receipt from the merchant.
I've done reading on FT and Reddit and it seems like it is a giant guarded State secret with no real answers given. It's all "Do your research." How can I do that if nobody takes the time to answer questions? Lol I have a few questions but is it not kosher to ask them here? Should I be doing this in a pm?

Wow this sounds so similar to the way we bought our current house. We also came up on a scouting trip months before our move date, found an unlisted house on day 2 that we loved in the perfect location, and bought it. Ours had no pool and needed a lot of work though, lol. At the time I worried we had moved too fast, but 7 years later we have NEVER regretted it. Congratulations!
Thank you! That does sound pretty similar to our situation. I’m just happy that we somewhat know the current owner and she has DVC so she’s gotta be an alright person right? Lol

Can I just throw out that one thing I love about this thread is that no one tell's anyone else they are wrong for liking any of the hotels? So often on other threads it feels like people want to jump you if you don't stay Deluxe Club Level every trip :confused3 or one hotel is better than another NO MATTER WHAT AND YOU ARE WRONG IF YOU DISAGREE!!

We are Pop fans but biased as it's the first place we stayed (also, I always wanted to stay at one of the All Star resorts for the large Disney figures when I was growing up, and we've always been in the 50s section so I get that with the Lady and the Tramp figures, which is one of my favorite movies :)). But we've also loved all of our Swolphin stays, and would probably pay cash OOP over Disney deluxe if the rate was right (vs Disney hotels). We don't spend much time in the room anyways and I think we'd be bad at hanging around enjoying the deluxe hotels unless we didn't have park tickets :rotfl:
This is so true. Too many times I see posts bashing on another person about staying in a value. We love pop and would gladly stay there again. Even if you do deluxe only trips it doesn’t give you the right to make someone else feel like crap for booking a value

@calypso726 super easy to combine the Seychelles with a trip to Tanzania / Kenya! We looked at that option alas I'm not a beach person so I'd rather spend the time in Africa. I'm sure you'll be planning your trip to Africa very soon -- I can't wait to go back -- I have a deep love for Africa.

I have a salt water pool. Might want to check if the current owner owns the system. When we bought our house apparently they leased the "Salt System" and the company removed the system. We then chose to buy a new system for I think around $1k instead of renting/having system replaced by the old company. We love our salt water pool but don't heat it which means swimming at home is usually only May-Sept.
They mentioned owning the cleaning system at least. I’m not sure about the actual salt. That could be something we ask them here soon.

About to start CIP round 2 for both players....looks like I opened my first one in Feb 2019. Should I be good to go now or should I wait until June 1st?
This is a hard question to answer in a bubble. I try not to state “absolute truths” as everybody is welcome to do whatever they feel is best. As I said before, I’m adhering strictly to a “3 months between” rule. I have way too much runway left with Chase to risk a shutdown over 30 days in my eyes. If the loophole gets shut down, oh well - I’d move on to other Chase cards.

I would be happy to give a slightly more educated answer if you provided your last 24 months of cards in the recommended format of the 2nd sticky :) without more info anybody would be purely guessing :)

You should be good to go then! Pretty sure the actual salt is no big deal....my wife is in charge of the pool though since she demanded it when we were looking at homes.
They had some kind of cleaning mechanism that crawled around the bottom of the pool. They said that was included with the house and we did have it included on the contract. I’ll be the one taking care of our pool, too since I was the one that wanted it

Yeah - same! Have been wanting to do a safari in Africa anyway. With my bucket list, it may be a long while before we get there though!

9/17 AA Advantage Personal
11/17 Jet Blue personal
7/18 Amazon personal
2/19 Chase Ink
4/19 Citi Biz

I was more wondering what exactly 3 months means....I could go back and see when I was approved and see if it was February 10th and if that would make 3 months May 10th or is it better to wait to the beginning of the next month. I have no issue waiting and being patient until June 1st.

In your situation I’d feel very comfortable with a literal 3 months. (ie May 10th). I’d honestly probably feel comfortable right now (like today! Even though that breaks my 3mo rule), I’m not sure who issues that Amazon card (you didn’t list the bank :P) but you either have 1 or 2 Chase cards in the past year. AND really only 2 cards period in the past year that Chase can see. That’s a far cry from other people asking for advice on this loophole :)

This is why I strongly advise ANYBODY asking for advice to list out ALL cards like this. Otherwise we’re making assumptions - I’m thinking this person is at 3/24 with a bunch of Chase personal & biz cards on their record and meanwhile they’re 2/24 with hardly any Chase in their past. (This comment isn’t directed at you @Killer Fish - just a general observation that asking for advice and only listing when you got your last card is like trying to give somebody relationship advice when you only know the last date you saw them - I need the whole story or I’m left to assume a lot) ;) :P
