You will not be disappointed with Aladdin! Its hard for me to pick a favorite, but between the 3 currently on Broadway, its my top pick. I just saw it for a second time this past weekend. Such a beautiful show! The magic carpet is great!! The only downside is that Abu (and Rajah) aren't "technically" in it.
My coworkers and I are going to see Aladdin on Broadway when I visit our NYC office next month. I was a little disappointed because I was hoping for Wicked, but hearing this endorsement makes me excited for Aladdin!

PLASTIQ 1.5% PROMO RATE = DEAD :(

https://www.doctorofcredit.com/plastiq-promotion-for-1-5-fee-on-mastercard-payments-1-discount/

Update 11:04pm ET: Plastiq has now clarified with us that the promotion is an official promotion, but only for targeted users in Canada on select payments. It was a system error causing it to work on all Mastercard payments, and that’s now been fixed. Far as I know, whatever payments were sent already are locked in at the lower rate, but I guess we’ll find out.
And I wonder if Plastiq would've figured this out so soon if DoC hadn't posted about it...

I'd assume that this has nothing to do with the 1% deal on those MCGCs (maybe somebody here can verify that?)

EDIT: @Lain - I mentioned this in response to your original comment on the news thread. Bummer for sure!

EDIT2: I verified this is dead myself by initiating a payment just now. If anybody has one of the MCGCs and can verify that the 1% is still good there, that'd be great!
And this is why we can’t have nice things.

Thanks for the offer but yeah, as @SouthFayetteFan said, I'm familiar with that agency. We've booked with them 3 or 4 times. Unfortunately, their rates are higher than Disney direct for our dates this year :(

As an aside, I had contacted them for pricing for this past March when dh & I were going for a resort only stay. They were, once again, higher than booking straight through Disney.

Sorry to hear that. We have used them for many years and this August (our vacation month to Disney), is the first time we haven't used them because we are going out west. I kind of knew that those prices would eventually come to an end. I am glad our family went to Disney when it was "reasonable" and it was a great vacation for the price. Now, too much is changing at WDW and year by year, it is not as good as it used to be.

Thanks for the reminder on using URs for activities. I think I’ll use URs for citypass in Chicago and for phantom tickets for nyc if they are available for November. I really don’t want to see phantom but it’s dd’s 16th birthday present so it’s her pick.

FYI: your week 1 does not line up with what I was pitching as “week 1”.

Hmmmm 2/12 - 2/19 includes the SLAMMED weekend of 2/15 - 2/17...

But 2/18-2/23 will probably be pretty busy too...

If crowds are a major consideration, is there any way you can avoid Pres day altogether? 2/6 - 2/13 or something similar would likely yield significantly lower crowds IMO.

I'm scheduled for Feb 15 to Feb 22nd and it is first of the week, Presidents Day and end of the week is a Disney marathon. So pretty busy week, I would imagine.

But family has a house down there and they just let me know that is their dates and would I be able to come then. It's revolving around a school vacation, so not able to change. I was able to get BWV garden view and I waitlisted for my standard view, but I intend to split my stay and probably do a monorail resort as well. Can't try for that until the 7 month window, but I should be able to get 2-3 days.

That said, the focus will be more family, so I may only do 1-2 days at Disney, or I may use an annual pass, not sure yet. There will be 3 families at the house, its a 9 bedroom so lots going on with just talking and eating!

Glad to help! I think you should win that discussion with your husband! Don’t be afraid to cash out URs if that’s what it takes to “justify” the flight expense. Points do = money :) and you can use them however you want to make things work.

@have2getaway - I have another perspective: points = experiences! And I was looking at the #2 club level experience. You can always earn more points and money, but you will never recoup the time you have spent on your vacation, so since you've considered an upgrade, I say go for it and enjoy the best you can get if you have enough points. There are more points to be earned later for the next fantastic trip!

I totally forgot to show this earlier! Look what we found in one of the house’s bedrooms:

That is a nice display. Was it under glass or just tacked in? I ask because I have my pins on a bulletin board right now and it's currently not hung but just leaning up against a wall and every time the girls come they pick my pins off and then I have to find them with the broom or vacuum again. I've got a couple of hundred (probably like a lot of people) and I guess I should do something more permanent with them.

They were just stuck into the bulletin board with no glass. This was very likely a teenage girl’s room. Ours at home are just stuck in a bulletin board but it’s hanging on the wall up high and we don’t have any kids

I liked the fact that they used a fairly nice frame. The frames I've considered in the past were more the Ikea type but that frame gave more perspective.

I have a few framed sets - Peter Pan, Minnie and Mickey, Donald Duck, but they were from Disney and are in fairly low key frames.

Did a mock payment with mcgc - still at 1%
I did a bunch of recurring mortgage payments on my citi biz, they are still showing the 1.5% so I’ll be interested to see if they claw back those rates!

I am pretty sure once you have set up the payment that they will not change it (unless you try to edit the payment of course). Last summer when they did the MC promo, I had set up a lot of payments at the beginning of the promo with various amounts fee-free before they instituted the $500 fee-free limit. All of my payments went through exactly as set up (even though some were for dates way after the change and new limit) so I would say that in this case your payments would go through as set up.

I really do think they are a good company, I think they really try not to piss off customers more than necessary (and I think they do enough of that with the various restrictions on payment type that is beyond their control and in the hands of cc companies.)

I also wonder if they are barely making it as a company, thus their eagerness to please. I can’t really see the appeal of such a high fee to many people in the real world, except for churners meeting MSR or those using it during promos, so I often wonder if they are just happy to have people use their service ha ha!

Yeah I like their frame a lot too. Our frame around our bulletin board is just a thin black one but it works well enough.

Yes! Just wait until Disney brings Beauty and the Beast back. I will be buying the tickets as soon as they are released :rotfl:
Ooh I think I saw some posters for that!! I wonder how they’ll do the castle characters?

I’ve heard great things! I do love Wicked I haven’t seen it in years so it’s on my see again list but I wasn’t convinced my kids would be as into it as some other broadway shows.

Sometimes I forget too but so far I’ve used them for a cruise excursions, local museum tix (Boston) and a show and top of Rockefeller in NYC. Worked out great!

Oh good and if it doesn’t work out ill survive too. I agree Plastiq is a good company I’ve had one issue and they were quick to help out and resolve it. But I wish this glitch hung around longer

Ok does anyone here own the Packsafe Citysafe CX anti-theft backpack?

https://www.ebags.com/product/pacsa...onvertible-backpack/347287?productid=10579900

DH got me an anti theft purse for Christmas for Barcelona/Europe but I'm thinking I'd like to have a backpack too. The price of this little backpack gives me pause.
I know we have lots of eBags fans here so I thought I'd ask!

I have a Pacsafe purse as well as the Pacsafe camera backpack, not identical, but along the same lines. I picked up the backpack primarily to protect my new Sony mirrorless camera when we went to Europe, not so much from theft, but the lenses from dropping my old backpack on the floor all the time (bad habit). It's nice, compartments are well organized and plentiful. I thought it was expensive and I'm not certain I'd buy again as I can should be more careful with my camera and don't worry so much about theft because it's usually around my neck when we're traveling (except for the heavy zoom lens that I can't live without).

For our upcoming trip to Japan I picked up a lightweight foldable backpack for our trip that we can stash away when we don't need (I'll have dd carry this one while I carry my camera backpack).

As an alternate suggestion, dd and I both have this backpack and it's amazing (this is now my travel go-to backpack):

I am sure Disney can do something way more advanced than what originally premiered on Broadway in 1994... and also what is currently in DHS' Beauty and the Beast - Live on Stage (although I do enjoy this show and think its cute!)

the Park Hyatt Tokyo in September

Can't wait to hear this review! Hoping to stay there next year.

Aladdin is an INCREDIBLE show!! DH and I both agreed we would gladly see it again. I still can't figure out that magic carpet. Serious Disney magic there!

Ok I'm here looking for some direction, since our */24's are coming up...
My goals? accrue more Hh points if I can- MORE UR always-possible more AA (for Disney) I don't MS ,and organic spend limit isn't that high (have to be careful)
I'm thinking of what I can do before I'm 5/24,and what to do after.
CIP from P2 referral for me? when? Should I PC one of P2 FR?(we never jit the quarterly on all 3 FR) I'm looking for a path....I know some of you here are excellent at seeing what I can't in the numbers....TIA

Rethinking and requoting my (edited) post b/c I'm considering any biz card options out there at the moment (I'm getting antsy putting non category spend on my FU)
For that CIP I want(need) I'll be 4/24 5/26/19-soooo datewise, when can I refer/app for that? Ideally I want that card before June 5,not sure if that's possible. Helpppp please great experts!
Also, what else should I be looking at when I do CIP for me? I want to make good use of the spot here.(do a biz and personal MSR at once and be 5/24 again)
Any other UR cards I should be aiming for at this moment? Or should I go for a hotel card to add to what I have (possible Hilton Aspire,or WoH for me?) and always need more hotel points too.
Or is it smarter to leave hotels alone and try for a Barclays arrival? (If I do Barcs, I should do CIP first, right?)
I have pretty much what I wanted already in hand, and If I qualified for any Bonvoy cards I'd try for those but I'm out of that field now.
Just trying to find a good MSR I can do asap,or asap after 5/26:Pinkbounc
