New to booking a flight on points. It seems obvious, but I just want to make sure I am understanding this correctly. I think I can book the same flight through the UR portal for "less points" than JetBlue direct. The flight costs $206.30 (more than I like to pay, but it came down $100 so I think its time to book).

Chase UR (CSR): 13,753 points

JetBlue: 16,700 points + $5.60 cash

The higher redemption rate with the CSR is helping, but it makes sense to go directly through Chase UR, right?

Sounds good to me, plus don't forget you will also earn TrueBlue points on the flight paid for with UR's - JetBlue should just see it as a cash booking.

Totally off topic here but there is such a wealth of knowledge on this thread and I need some advice. I have been taking A LOT of photos (with my trusty old Canon EOS T2i) at my DD's sporting events (LAX and FH games). There are many, many pictures of the entire team and I would like to put them out somewhere so the girls can see them and download them. Has anyone done anything like this or have any ideas for me? THANKS!
I use Dropbox for this. I just share the entire folder so everyone can save/download what they want and then print when/where they wish. I have the same trusty old Canon ;)

Dh and I went to target tonight and bought the new Disney Color Brain game. It’s awesome!

My little one got this for Easter and it’s all we’ve been playing since then. It’s much harder than it seems at first!

This is unfortunately not a travel credit or “travel eraser”. You can use URs to book travel thru the portal and Disney hotels/dining aren’t an option. (You could potentially get tickets thru a backdoor link which we could help you with). Good news: You absolutely could use URs for Universal tickets.

BUT, even without Disney, it’s still a great card given that it’s $850 in cash back for $5k in spend. Even accounting for the $95 AF, that’s a 15% return.

You have to be under 5/24 to apply for this card so you need to verify how many cards you and/or your husband have gotten in the past 24 months before you even think about pursuing Chase unfortunately. If you are at 5/24 or greater you will hit a brick wall denial with Chase.
Can’t you cash in the points at $0.01 against your balance? I thought that was a possibility with UR but I’ve blown all of mine on the travel portal so can’t try right now.

According to my Chase Freedom account, I can use it as a 1 point = 1 cent statement credit or I can deposit it directly to my bank account.

Did you chat before or after your statement posted?

After. I meant to do it before but I kept procrastinating as I would think of it during the day and then remember that everyone here was having success with late night chats. I have also gone way over the MSR, not that that probably matters but who knows??

How do you know when to cancel a card? Does everyone cancel once they hit the MSR? We’ve hit 3 MSR’s within the past 9 months with 3 new cards, but we haven’t closed any. What’s the magic number for debt to income ratio? I feel like I understand how to apply for a card and hit the MSR, but I’m guessing I will eventually need to start thinking about closing out some, and I’m not as comfortable with that process and how that might impact our credit scores.
Don’t be one of those churners...LOL! Keep your cards open for 12-13 months and cancel before the AF is due :thumbsup2

Statement credit is an option but only at 1cpp. The best option for cash though is to just get it deposited in a checking account. Then you can use that cash any way you want ;) :teacher: Of course neither cash deposited or stmt credit offer a 1.25x or 1.50x return like the travel portal does.

$200 annual credit with an airline--I've used it to buy gc some years,
This is a great idea! I selected delta this year because it will partial cover baggage fees on 2 trips we are taking (flights purchased with MRs) but next year I will do this! I use uber all the time so we fully use that credit (it's great) and I love the lounge access but we don't fly super often - 2/3x year. I buy any flights for work with it for the 5x points - but I only fly once/twice year for work (personal trips are almost always booked with miles from MRs or other cards).

And I forgot about the Saks credit! Time to go shopping.... Thanks!

So we were attempting to get on the graavy train. I already had the biz aa card. Got DH one with a dummy booking a while back. Offer was 40k and 200 stmt credit. I chatted for the 70k public offer that's now available. Rep said they would submit a request. Never heard back via email as promised, instead got a letter asking for proof of a targeted offer :crazy2: Should I try again? I need the magic wording, haha.

In good news, looks like DHs MDD was successful.

Dh and I played again tonight. It’s so much fun! We love when we both get the answer right and you put those to the side. Sometimes those points really add up and other times we lose them all when we get one wrong lol

I agree - for my family the travel portal is THE way for us to get on flights. But the poster was asking if any of the Disney expenses code as travel so she could use the $800 SUB to pay them and while they don’t code as travel, she should be able to pay $800 worth of them by cashing out points. The $0.01 pp is the same value as using AA miles on their portal.

Was it 2001??? My MIL won a trip, and it was our first visit to WDW. DD was 9 months old, and Orlando saw record low temps (right at freezing in the mornings). We didn't have warm enough clothes for her, so DH put his long socks on her. She was so tiny, his socks ran up her entire leg!! We still had a great time though - just had to improvise a little. And I'd take it any day over summer weather.
We camped at Disney this past weekend and it was FREEZING. We’ve been camping a few times this winter and it’s been so hot so I didn’t take even a hoodie for the kids. I walked around all weekend with a blanket wrapped around my shoulders! 2017 New Years there was near snowing temperatures and we considered sleeping in the bathrooms because they were heated but this past year, we were in the pool every day. Florida!

I made a reservation for the Wyndham Garden next to DS through the Chase portal. I’ve been able to pull up the confirmation number on MDE but it lists two adults and two children on the reservation and on Chase where I made the reservation it says 1 adult only (which is correct). Who do I call to fix this? Is it the Disney wholesale number that I’ve seen on the Priceline thread? I suppose I could enter names of people on my Disney friends list who aren’t actually going, but I’d rather not mess with their accounts like that! MDE won’t accept the confirmation number unless I enter 3 more names.
Can you just enter made up names?

DH got Jet blue biz 9/18 (auto approved) and arrival + 12/18, but he had to personally speak to them to lower the JBB CL to get arrival +. No biggie and glad we did. Used it to erase cruise and Universal trip charges.
I got JBB 9/18 and Barclay AA biz 3/19. Auto approved for JBB and AA biz went pending a painful 10 days but was approved. So 2 cards spaced out is doable. I think a few people have had success with 3 Barclays but not the norm. My plan on to keep DH’s JBB for the free bags and close mine. I’ll also close the arrival + and Aa biz and next year attempt Barclay again. Oddly DPs have shown more success with closing and reapplying than sockdrawing current cards.
perfect, thank you!

Only 2 issues. Chase won’t let u pick seats they get assigned at the gate. If that matters to you.
And paying more for checked bags if you have the JetBlue cc bags r free

Old news but this is one of the reasons I prefer to stay with my kid on flights.

https://www.abc15.com/news/national...was-removed-from-flight-without-her-knowledge
This is a really weird story. They were all on the same plane... why didn't the daughter just walk back & talk to her mother instead of trying to call her on the phone? Why would they remove an existing passenger to accommodate someone else due to "overbooking?" How did this situation result in $75K worth of damages?
