It's been awhile since I was actively reading, so I am about 600,000 pages behind. I think the last major update that applied to me was that AA was not generating the Amex Plat credit anymore. That still a thing? I still have $200 in my flight credit for 2019 that I would like to use. What airlines are working? I would most likely try to sell the GC unless it was United.
Anyway, I ditched my CSR at the beginning of March right before the AF hit. I have had it for 24 months and did pretty well with it. DH also has one as well, so I didn't think we needed two. So, here is how it all worked out since Jan. 2017 (this is mine and DH's):
150k UR SUB
20K support clicks
$1500 Travel Credits
Used 200K to United for Business seats to Europe, back in economy
Used 1.5x redemption on:
(4) AA Flights to FL and back
5 nights at Sheraton Vistana Resort
5 days car rental
1 night in Chicago
1 night at Notre Dame
$1800 Annual Fees with the next AF hitting Mar. '20
I know it's not as awesome as some other redemptions, but it's been pretty good for us. We don't travel all too often anymore, but am really happy with what we were able to do with it all. We still have about 80K UR, but I attribute that to my CIP.
In other news, I already lost my March Madness bet with DH. Loser has to plan a long weekend. Great thing for the loser is they get to pick ANYWHERE they want to go with no say from the winner (DH hates to plan vacations...he just wants to show up). I want to try to do this with points.
Some ideas I have are Denver, Boston, or Hilton Head. Neither of us have been (except I have been to Breckenridge to ski). We would be going mid-to late summer. 3-4 nights total. Here is what I have to work with for now:
80K UR (I have been trying to max out 2 CF each quarter buying $500 Visas, so that will bump up)
80K IHG + 1 Free Night Cert (before the changes)
105K MR
23K United
Where would you go and why????
