Yeah I really don’t know how they do it with three kids. My SO was like losing it in their Disney video when they let the baby crawl around on Main Street. I think they are more laid back then we would be lol

Disney Main Street is probably cleaner than most surfaces. Sure, tens of thousands of people step on it every day, horses poop on it, but Disney steam cleans it every night and custodial staff are constantly cleaning up after the animals. For everything else, that's what wipes and hand sanitizer are for.

And I missed the SW sale so Kauai will have to wait. I went to Hawaii as a teen and we split our stay between Maui and Oahu. I wasn't really a fan of Oahu but loved Maui. Kauai seems more like Maui so that island definitely appeals to me.

When DD finishes her CIP it might be time for her to get CP

I think Kauai will get more love now if Southwest keeps inter island fares low. Maybe you can book something reasonable when the
next schedule comes up? That is the real mystery if they will continue to keep all their fares "reasonable" and cause air fare wars.

Keep alerts on Google flights or search engines with your dates to see if the other airlines will drop their prices for spring and summer.

Personally, I love Kauai. About 15 years ago we went to Maui a few years in a row and loved it. About 8 years ago we went to Kauai for the first time and fell in love. We went back to Maui a few years ago and really didn't like it anymore. It had lost the laid back feel, almost everyone we met was from the Mainland, people drove like they were from CA, prices were insane! we ate a couple meals out and cooked the rest ourselves. So the next trip we went back to Kauai and were much happier. That island has certainly changed as well, but we still loved it. The "feel" reminded me of Maui 15 years ago (I was a kid at the time admittedly) where it's more laid back, more undeveloped land, etc. I've zero desire to go back to Maui but I'll happily return to Kauai. Haven't had much of a chance to check out the other islands!

Guys - I just hit a major milestone!!!!

My wife's Aviator Biz was our 70th card since we started churning in 2011!!! (And then mine was 71).

I cannot believe we are that deep into this. We started slow from 2011-2014 and then really hit the game hard in 2015. I so appreciate this group which has been a huge part of my churning journey for the past 2 years. You guys are AWESOME and I'm so lucky to have this group to share successes with!!

I totally agree. Kauai is gorgeous. And not so congested. We took most of our trips to Maui (and a few to Kona) because we could get a direct there and not to Kauai. When DD was little and my DM was able to travel with us the direct flights made all the difference. But Kauai is truly what I think of when I think of a tropical island.

Well, this morning, I could book Den to Oak for $118 there and $88 back in mid-May. Now all of May is showing unavailable. Same for March and April. I wasn't even looking at the inter-island ones yet

UGH! I have OAK to HNL booked and paid, but now I can't get us to OAK. I wanted to fly Tuesday to HNL but those flights were gone. So I moved it to Monday. I have an AA flight on hold, but it puts us there 1 hour before take off. My question is, is there anyway to get our bags from an AA flight to a SW flight w/o getting them and checking back in?

Otherwise I think it's a bust and I need to cancel the SW flights. Waaaaaaahhhh! If I could have gotten the Tuesday flights it would have cost us $250/ea after points.

I'm not a SW flyer. I know i have 24 hours to get back the flights in full, what if I go outside the 24 hours? They issue it as credit?

its not on the flow chart, its something i found out not too long ago that you can call a regular CSR rep(not recon)(found on the back of the any chase card) and just simply ask for your status with them. they cant really do much but tell u what the app file reads... i have several ppl who did that before they call recon. they were more prepared when calling recon. friend of mine got denied for verification, they wanted proof of business address and business name. he had those ready to go before calling recon and gotten the approve a few days later.

Are you calling the status line? Call the number on the back of the card. It's 800-945-2028 (in case you don't have another Chase biz card). They can tell you if it's verification or denial and the reason.

For you Hawaii experts, how do you get to Kauai for a reasonable cost? Is SW flying these routes as well?

SW is planning to fly to LIH, which is the airport on Kauai. There's nothing scheduled yet for LIH, so you haven't missed your chance. Finally catching up here...it's been busy with DCL releases (I tried to help!). Then mentoring, then y'all were soooo very chatty today


We must because I was happily surprised. Of course, 2 years ago I took my parents on a Europe DCL in a suite and it was a bit pricey. Sooo anything less than that cruise fare is "reasonable."

What cruise did you book? I'm sure you posted and I missed it. This thread is crazy today.
